Chapter 4 Empress Xiaoyiren 4

Yunyi was helped up by Kangxi's large hand. After standing up straight, she carefully observed the famous emperor in history in front of her.

On the surface, Kangxi was a slender man with a few pockmarks on his face from contracting smallpox as a child. However, this flaw did not detract from his handsome appearance; in Yunyi's eyes, it was rather endearing.

She has a traditional Qing Dynasty hairstyle, wears a crescent-colored robe embroidered with dragon patterns, and has a sachet made by the original owner herself hanging at her waist, which is already slightly worn.

Judging by appearance, he should be around 1.77 to 1.8 meters tall. Yunyi is currently about 1.62 meters tall, and even wearing 5-centimeter platform shoes, she is still about half a head shorter than Kangxi.

As an emperor, although he is still young, he already possesses considerable authority. However, he is quite gentle with the concubines in the harem, and he dotes on his cousin Yunyi.

However, Yunyi, as a modern woman of the 21st century, would not be immersed in such a relationship; she is merely a ruthless task-completion machine.

Kangxi pulled Yunyi to sit beside him, wrapping his arm around her. "Why aren't you saying anything? Why are you so quiet?"

Under the man's gentle attitude, and thinking about her own persona, Yunyi recalled many scenes from idol dramas in her mind before she managed to control herself and her face slowly turned red.

A blush rose on her cheeks, making her incredibly charming. She blushed and said coquettishly, "Cousin, you're so mean! I only brought you some soup because I saw you were tired, hoping to help you recover. And yet you still say such things to me."

Holding his little cousin in his arms, Kangxi coaxed her gently, "Yes, yes, it's all my fault. I'll punish myself by making her drink the whole bowl of soup later. Yao'er, don't be angry, okay?"

Yunyi felt she couldn't take it anymore. Ugh, calling Yao'er "Yao'er" was too mushy. She was getting goosebumps.

With a charming glare at Kangxi, Yunyi saw that he was still laughing uncontrollably. She was secretly delighted. "Hehehe, I wanted you to drink it. Since you're so cooperative, then enjoy it yourself." She raised her voice and ordered the palace maid, "Did you hear me? Hurry up and bring the soup to His Majesty."

The palace maid opened the food box, and the eunuch, as was his routine, used a silver needle to test for poison before quickly presenting it to Emperor Kangxi.

Because the food container has a heat preservation function, even though the weather is getting cooler now and it took a while to deliver it, the soup was still warm. The temperature was neither too hot nor too cold, and it was just right to drink.

Emperor Kangxi picked up the soup bowl and, without using a spoon, eagerly drank the soup, which contained added ingredients such as red dates and longan.

Yun Yi was secretly pleased. Not bad, she finished it cleanly and efficiently, which saved me a lot of trouble.

After drinking the soup, Yunyi patiently continued her act, joking with Kangxi for a while before virtuously leaving the Qianqing Palace under the pretext of not disturbing Kangxi's review of memorials.

Back at Chengqian Palace, after dismissing the palace maids, Yunyi pressed her hands together to relax her face. She was exhausted from acting in front of Emperor Kangxi, and her face was stiff.

The system teased, "Host, you're quite impressive. Your acting skills are superb. You brought a shy palace concubine to life so vividly that even Emperor Kangxi didn't notice any changes in you."

"Of course, Xiao Qi, do you know where I went to university?" Yun Yi had a mischievous idea and wanted to tease the system.

Sure enough, Xiao Qi honestly shook her head and replied, "I don't know, host, please tell me quickly."

Yunyi drawled out, "I went to university," then mischievously paused, "at the famous... Central Academy of Drama."

Finally realizing she'd been tricked, System Xiaoqi scoffed, "Hmph, host, you're so mean! You're teasing me again."

"I'm sorry, Xiao Qi, you're just too cute. I really couldn't resist teasing you." Yun Yi apologized, but showed no remorse. There was no way around it; such an adorable little light system was like a fluffy kitten—no one could resist wanting to play with it.

After resting enough, Yunyi got up and went to the original owner's small study, found a calligraphy copybook, and practiced writing calligraphy.

Although she possessed all of the original owner's memories and mastered all the skills the original owner knew, including writing, embroidery, and massage, these were ultimately someone else's memories. She could do them, but she couldn't do them as skillfully as the original owner, and she wasn't as proficient.

Now she practices more and masters these skills so that she won't give herself away later. In addition, she just discovered in the Qianqing Palace that Kangxi's sachet was old, so she can make a new one to maintain her image as a sentimental person.

After practicing calligraphy for an hour, Yunyi's handwriting had become very natural. At Ruoshu's urging, she put down her brush and rested for a while.

Then I began to practice another skill. "Ruoshu, go to the storeroom and see if there is any suitable material for making sachets. I visited my cousin at the Qianqing Palace today, and the sachet he wore has been worn for a long time. I want to make him a new one by hand."

Ruoshu accepted the order and withdrew. Soon after, she returned with a pile of fabric. Yunyi carefully selected a piece of ginger-yellow fabric, intending to embroider dragon patterns on it with five-colored threads as decoration.

Just as I finished cutting the fabric and was about to get started, the eunuchs from the Qianqing Palace arrived.

The one who arrived was Wang He, the adopted son of the chief eunuch of the Qianqing Palace. He quickly walked up to Yunyi, smiling obsequiously. "This servant Wang He greets Your Highness, the Imperial Concubine. May Your Highness be blessed with longevity and peace. His Majesty has decreed that dinner be served at Your Highness's Chengqian Palace. Please prepare accordingly."

"Yes, I understand. I'm sorry to have troubled Eunuch Wang to make this trip. You could have just sent a junior eunuch to tell me this. Why did you have to come in person?"

Wang He stood up and replied respectfully, "I dare not accept such praise. Your Highness is too kind to me. It was Steward Liang who instructed me to come. Steward Liang also reminded me that Your Highness's affairs are of great importance and should be taken seriously."
