Chapter 116 The Tide (Part 1)

Some competitors, envious of Master Jiu's business, have tried to imitate the blind box sales model.

However, they soon discovered that things were not as simple as they had imagined.

In a rouge shop in the south of the city, the shopkeeper frowned at the freshly made lipstick: "Why is the color so dark? It can't compare to the one in Master Jiu's shop at all!"

The shop assistant shook his head helplessly: "Our recipe is wrong, so the color is always a little off."

Another shop fared even worse. Their hastily launched "blind box" lipsticks were either of rough texture or had strange colors, prompting customers to complain: "What is this stuff? It feels like smearing lard on it!"

Gradually, a rumor began to circulate: the lipsticks in Ninth Master's shop used a secret recipe from the palace that outsiders could not replicate.

As the blind box craze swept across the country, Lin Yun's reputation quietly spread among the people.

A young lady was applying her newly bought lipstick in front of a bronze mirror in her boudoir. She said to her maid, "I heard that the idea for this lipstick came from Consort Shu. She's really amazing!"

The maid nodded in agreement: "Yes, Your Highness is not only beautiful, but also so intelligent. No wonder the Emperor dotes on her so much."

The young lady sighed softly, "If only I could be like Consort Shu someday, possessing both talent and the love of my husband, how wonderful that would be."

Such conversations were repeated throughout the streets and alleys of the capital. Lin Yun's name gradually spread from the inner palace, becoming the envy of noble ladies and a legend talked about by merchants.

Ninth Prince Yuntang stood by the window of his study, gazing at the bright moon in the night sky, his heart filled with countless emotions.

He never imagined that he would one day gain such a great sense of accomplishment from doing business. Even more unexpectedly, it was all because of his collaboration with Lin Yun.

"Consort Yun... no, she should be called Consort Shu now." He muttered to himself, a smile playing on his lips. "She's truly an extraordinary person."

---

When the accounts were being tallied at the end of the month, Ninth Master's hands trembled as he looked at the numbers in the ledger.

He knew business would be good, but he didn't expect it to be this good. In just one month, the profit was higher than the entire previous year's revenue!

"This...this is simply..." Ninth Master muttered to himself, a glint of greed flashing in his eyes.

If only all this silver were his, how wonderful that would be! But soon, he shook his head.

With the Emperor and Consort Shu behind this business, he dared not harbor any wicked thoughts.

"As agreed before, 30% will be mine, and the rest will be given to the Emperor and the Empress," Ninth Prince instructed the steward.

The manager nodded in agreement, but inwardly he was astonished. Even 30% was an astronomical sum!

This time, I really made a fortune.

Ninth Master leaned back in his chair and couldn't help but laugh out loud. A business like this was something to dream about!
