Chapter 166 Good News Keeps Coming

A smile flashed in Yongzheng's eyes as he said to Daiyu, "Thank you for your hard work."

Daiyu quickly shook her head: "It is my honor to be able to study with His Highnesses."

In the evening, Yongzheng accompanied Lin Yun for a walk in the courtyard. When talking about Daiyu's teaching, he said with great praise: "Yu'er is calm and composed, and teaches very well."

Lin Yun leaned on his shoulder and said softly, "Yu'er is very intelligent. If she can stay in the palace, it would be a blessing for Zhaohua and Hongyao."

Yongzheng pondered for a moment, then said, "She is still young; she will have her own destiny in the future. But you..."

He reached out and gently stroked her abdomen. "Have you been feeling unwell lately?"

Lin Yun shook her head, her eyes full of happiness: "This child is much better behaved than when I was pregnant with Zhaohua. He must be a considerate person."

Lin Yun leaned against Yongzheng's chest and whispered, "Your Majesty, do you think this child will be a prince or a princess?"

Yongzheng lowered his head and kissed the top of her head, saying gently, "Whether it's a prince or a princess, I love them both."

Lin Yun smiled, her eyes full of anticipation.

Another half month passed in the blink of an eye, and Lin Yun's pregnancy became more and more stable.

In his spare time from teaching, Daiyu often accompanied her for walks in the Imperial Garden.

That day, the two walked into the plum grove, and Lin Yun suddenly asked, "Yu'er, have you gotten used to life in the palace these past few days?"

Daiyu said softly, "The Empress treats me like a younger sister, and everyone in the palace is very kind to me. I have long regarded this place as my home."

Lin Yun nodded with satisfaction, took out an exquisite jade pendant from her sleeve and handed it to her: "This is something I specially asked for for you, to bless you with peace and good fortune."

Daiyu took the jade pendant and saw that it was engraved with the four characters "兰心蕙质" (Lan Xin Hui Zhi), which was Lin Yun's expectation of her.

Her eyes welled up slightly, and she bowed solemnly, saying, "Daiyu will certainly not fail Your Majesty's kindness."

Daiyu hesitated for a moment, then said softly, "Your Majesty, I have a request."

The two arrived at a pavilion, and Lin Yun gestured for her to sit down: "There's no need for formalities between us, feel free to speak."

Daiyu whispered, "Before I entered the palace, I had a cousin named Jia Yuanchun. She entered the palace as a lady-in-waiting in her early years, and I don't know which palace she is working in now."

If it's convenient... Daiyu would like to see her cousin.

Upon hearing this, Lin Yun pondered for a moment and said, "Jia Yuanchun? Oh, that's your cousin. Did she also enter the palace?"

She turned to Chunlan beside her and said, "Go and invite Consort Yu over."

The two walked toward Yanxi Palace while talking.

Before long, Consort Yu arrived gracefully.

Dressed in a light purple palace gown, she exuded elegance. After bowing to Lin Yun, she asked with a smile, "Sister, did you summon me here for something?"

Lin Yun said gently, "Sister, you are in charge of the affairs of the ladies-in-waiting in the six palaces. Do you know a lady-in-waiting named Jia Yuanchun?"

Consort Yu pondered for a moment, then nodded: "Jia Yuanchun is currently serving as 'Siyan' in the Shanggong Bureau, in charge of transcribing documents and conveying imperial edicts. Although her position is not high, she is a reliable person."

She looked at Daiyu, a knowing glint in her eyes: "Are you related to Miss Lin? Jia Siyan mentioned you to me a few days ago."

Daiyu exclaimed in surprise, "Sister Yuanchun knows I've entered the palace?"

Consort Yu nodded with a smile: "The palace is well-informed, so she naturally knows. However, due to her duties, she cannot move around freely."

Lin Yun said to Consort Yu, "Since they are family, why don't we arrange for them to meet?"

Consort Yu readily agreed: "What's so difficult about that? Tomorrow, Jia Siyan will deliver the documents to Jingren Palace. I'll have someone take Miss Lin there."

Daiyu bowed gratefully, saying, "Thank you for your kindness, Consort Yu."

Consort Yu helped her up and said gently, "It was nothing, no need for thanks. It's a wonderful thing for you sisters to be reunited."
