Chapter 19 New Product Tasting Event

Everyone was deeply moved upon hearing this.

An older lady nodded approvingly: "Miss Lin is so young, yet she has such a broad vision; it's truly rare." Another young lady also remarked with emotion: "It's our honor to be among this one percent."

The men and their families standing to the side looked surprised.

Lin Feng quietly tugged at Lin Yun's sleeve and whispered, "Little sister, isn't this too risky? What if the number of members decreases..."

At this moment, Madam Wang stood up and said loudly, "Since Miss Lin has this intention, I am willing to be the first person to become a lifetime member!" Her words drew responses from everyone, and for a moment, the atmosphere in the hall became lively, as if a silent contract was being concluded at this moment.

Lin Yun bowed deeply: "Thank you all for your kindness. The Lin family will certainly live up to your expectations."

The tasting event continued smoothly until sunset, and Lin's Clothing Shop's new products were a great success.

Everyone praised Lin Yun's designs, and orders poured in like snowflakes.

Xie Yu walked out of the shop with a smile on her face, but a hint of doubt flashed in her eyes.

He originally thought that Chen Yu's men would cause trouble today, and he could lend a hand to help them and win Lin Yun's trust in the process.

The entire tasting event proceeded smoothly without a single ripple.

He was secretly puzzled, but said to Lin Yun without showing any emotion, "Miss Lin's new product is indeed extraordinary. I have truly broadened my horizons today."

Lin Yun smiled slightly and said sincerely, "Thank you for your kind words, young master. I am very grateful for your presence." She was unaware of Xie Yu's intentions and assumed that he had genuinely come to participate in the tasting event.

After exchanging a few pleasantries, Xie Yu bowed and took his leave.

The moment he turned around, his eyes suddenly turned cold.

Lin Yun stood at the shop entrance, watching the last customer leave, and her tense nerves finally relaxed.

When she finished recording the last order, Xiao Tao was so exhausted that she slumped into a chair, muttering, "Miss, we made a killing!"

Lin Yun gazed at the mountain of orders, a slight smile playing on her lips. Looking out the window at the darkening sky, a surge of pride welled up within her—she had won this battle beautifully.

She suddenly asked Xiao Tao beside her, "Xiao Tao, have you noticed anything unusual today?"

Xiao Tao shook her head: "No, everything went smoothly."

Lin Yun nodded and didn't ask any more questions. Perhaps she was overthinking it; she just felt things shouldn't be going so smoothly.

Across the street on the second floor of a teahouse, a man wearing a straw hat hurriedly wrote a few lines, stuffed the letter into a bamboo tube, and tied it to the leg of a carrier pigeon.

The pigeons flapped their wings and flew towards the Forbidden City, disappearing into the glow of the sunset.

Inside the carriage on the way back to the manor, Xie Yu lightly tapped the window frame with his knuckles, his brows furrowed. The steward, observing his expression, whispered, "Young Master, do you find something amiss?"

"Where are Chen Yu's men?" Xie Yu asked coldly. "Could it be that he changed his mind at the last minute?"

The butler shook his head: "Absolutely impossible. Our men saw with their own eyes that group of thugs gathered on West Street at 5 PM, carrying sticks."

Xie Yu's gaze darkened, and he said no more.

"Your subordinate saw it clearly!" A scout in black knelt on one knee, his voice extremely low. "Just as Chen Yu's men reached the back alley of Lin's shop, seven or eight masked men suddenly rushed out. They were swift and skillful, taking them all down in just a few punches and kicks!"

Xie Yu paused, his teacup still in his hand. "Masked man? Who are you?"

“Unlike ordinary guards.” The scout swallowed hard. “Their moves were ruthless, targeting joints. Those thugs were dragged away before they could even scream… their fate is unknown.”

The butler gasped, "Young master, could it be that Miss Lin has another powerful backer?"

Xie Yu sneered and slammed the teacup down on the table: "Interesting."

He unfolded his folding fan, staring intently at the landscape painting on its surface, his eyes flashing with a chilling light. "Find out who those people are. Also—"

He closed his fan and tapped it lightly on his palm. "Tell the people below to increase the price of Chen Yu's goods by 30%." He hated these petty people's actions the most. Since someone was courting death, then let them die.

"Yes." The butler acknowledged the order and left.

The shadows of the trees swayed outside the window, and a gust of wind blew out half a candle.

In the darkness, Xie Yu's lips slowly curled into a smile: "Lin Yun, you've kept it well hidden."
