Chapter 19 New Product Tasting Event

Three days later, the Lin family's clothing store was decorated with lanterns and colorful streamers. A red carpet stretched from the entrance to the center of the street, with freshly picked flowers on both sides, their delicate fragrance filling the air.

As dawn broke, members began to arrive one after another, and carriages and sedan chairs blocked the streets.

Xiao Tao, accompanied by several maids, greeted guests at the door. She flipped through the roster in her hands, her forehead beaded with sweat, but she couldn't hide the nervousness on her face.

This was the first time she had handled such a big matter, and she was determined to do it well for the young lady.

"Madam Wang has arrived—"

"Miss Li has arrived—"

"Second Madam Zhao has arrived—"

Each announcement drew the attention of passersby. Inside the shop, Lin Yun, dressed in a moon-white long dress embroidered with silver threads, her hair adorned only with a simple jade hairpin, accentuated her snow-white skin and refined, ethereal beauty. Standing in the center of the hall, she smiled and bowed to each customer, her gaze composed and confident.

The interior has already been completely renovated.

Newly designed clothes hang on the walls, each piece partially veiled by sheer fabric, their silhouettes creating a alluring and tantalizing effect.

A long table stood in the center, covered with snow-white silk, displaying several of the main styles. A small sign next to it read "Members Only" in gold lettering. Several ladies sat around the table, their fingers gently tracing the fabric, uttering exclamations of admiration.

"This fabric is even softer than the last one!" Madam Wang exclaimed, her eyes gleaming as she held a corner of her skirt.

"Look at this embroidery! The stitches are so fine that you can hardly see them. It must have been done by a Suzhou embroidery master." Miss Li leaned closer to examine it and couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.

The second matriarch of the Zhao family pointed to a shawl and asked impatiently, "Miss Lin, are there any other patterns in the color scheme of this cloud pattern?"

Lin Yun smiled slightly and gestured for the maid to lift the veil.

In an instant, the room was filled with radiant light—twelve new outfits made their debut, some as elegant as a landscape painting, others as magnificent as a blooming peony, each one unique.

The guests held their breath, and after a moment, gasps of amazement surged forth.

"I want this one! I'll pay the deposit now!"

"Keep that lake-blue one for me. I'll have the maid go back and get the silver right away!"

"Miss Lin, when will the next membership offer open? My young lady would also like to join!"

The scene instantly became abuzz.

Xiao Tao was so busy that she barely had time to breathe, filling out page after page of the ledger.

Lin Yun stood to the side, her gaze sweeping over the eager faces of the crowd, and the weight that had been hanging over her heart finally lifted.

She clapped her hands lightly, and the maids immediately brought out tea and snacks.

The tea was top-quality Biluochun, and the pastry was a special osmanthus pastry made according to her recipe. One bite and your mouth is filled with fragrance.

"Ladies and young ladies, there's no need to rush," Lin Yun said in a clear voice, calming the room's noise. "All the new products available for pre-order today will be delivered within three days. Also—"

She paused deliberately, and seeing everyone prick up their ears, she continued, "Those who place an order today will receive a silk handkerchief embroidered with their personal name, featuring plum blossoms, orchids, bamboo, and chrysanthemums."

These words caused another stir in the room.

Although the handkerchief bearing the maiden's name was a small item, it showed great thoughtfulness, and the ladies all smiled with satisfaction. Madam Wang even took Lin Yun's hand and said, "You little girl, your mind is more delicate than an embroidery needle!"

Just as the atmosphere was getting lively, a commotion suddenly broke out outside the door.

Everyone turned around and saw Xie Yu standing there with a smile, dressed in an indigo long robe and holding a folding fan. His appearance made the ladies present light up, and several unmarried young ladies blushed.

"I have come uninvited, and I hope Miss Lin will forgive me." Xie Yu cupped his hands, but his gaze fell on the new clothes, a hint of amazement flashing across his eyes.

Lin Yun stepped forward and bowed gracefully: "Thank you for coming, young master. It is an honor for the Lin family."

But I was puzzled. Doesn't this guy have to go to work? He just wanders around outside all day. Could I be the ox or horse?

Xie Yu chuckled and took out a silver note from his sleeve: "I'll order ten sets of each of these new products."

The room erupted in murmurs. Lin Yun took the silver note, her fingertips touching the astonishing number, her heart pounding. But she quickly composed herself and said gently, "Thank you for your kindness, young master, but there are rules for members; each person is limited to three sets."

Xie Yu raised an eyebrow, his smile deepening. "What a fine Miss Lin, even willing to refuse money." He put away the silver notes and said meaningfully, "Then three sets it is. But, how has Miss Lin considered our cooperation?"

Before Lin Yun could answer, Madam Wang suddenly interjected, "Oh dear, Young Master Xie, don't try to steal her away! We're counting on Miss Lin's new clothes to make a good impression!"

The crowd burst into laughter, but Xie Yu was not annoyed. He simply gave Lin Yun a deep look before turning to admire her clothes.

The noise in the hall had not yet subsided when Lin Yun looked around at everyone, her gaze firm yet gentle.

She gently raised her hand, signaling everyone to be quiet, and then slowly began to speak: "Thank you all for your kindness today. Lin Yun has something to tell you."

Everyone stopped talking and looked at her curiously. Lin Yun continued, "Since its opening, Lin's Clothing Shop has achieved its current success thanks to the strong support of all its members. To repay this trust, I have decided that from now on, Lin's Clothing Shop will only serve the 100 members present here. New members will only be added if any member leaves; otherwise, this will remain unchanged for life."

These words caused an uproar in the room.

A young lady couldn't help but ask, "Miss Lin, why is that? With your skills, if you expanded your business, you would surely become famous throughout the capital!"

Lin Yun smiled slightly, her eyes clear: "The original intention of Lin's Clothing Shop is to provide unique clothes for those who truly appreciate them. The membership system is not only a business, but also a friendship. If we expand blindly, we will inevitably lose our original intention and betray everyone's trust."
