Chapter 135 Military Parade

It turned out to be a team of skilled archers demonstrating rapid-fire archery, with the sound of arrows piercing the air constantly filling the air.

Lin Yun was so engrossed in watching that she let go of Yongzheng's hand and leaned forward while holding onto the railing.

Seeing her support, the archers were all in high spirits, and one of them even performed exceptionally well, shooting an arrow through three layers of cowhide target.

"Okay!" Lin Yun blurted out, her eyes sparkling.

Yongzheng's face darkened completely. He pulled her back to her seat and said, "My beloved consort, sit tight and watch out for stray arrows." He then coldly surveyed the arrow formation, his heart filled with jealousy.

He looked down at Lin Yun and saw that she was watching the rehearsal on the field with great focus. Her profile was as smooth and beautiful as jade in the sunlight, and she was indeed so beautiful that it was hard to look away.

At this moment, a young general rode past the high platform, his gaze fixed on Lin Yun, forgetting to bow.

Yongzheng's eyes turned cold, and his fingers tightened slightly.

Upon seeing this, the soldiers below the platform all lowered their heads, no longer daring to look around.

Lin Yun was taken aback at first, then realized what was going on. Her ears turned slightly red, and she whispered, "Is His Majesty jealous?"

Yongzheng snorted softly, a dangerous glint flashing in his eyes: "I'll deal with you tonight."

After the military parade, Emperor Yongzheng, accompanied by Lin Yun, toured the military camps. Wherever they went, the soldiers saluted respectfully, their eyes fixed straight ahead.

Lin Yun quietly tugged at Yongzheng's sleeve and whispered, "The Emperor's majesty is too great; they are all afraid."

Yongzheng raised an eyebrow: "It's good to be afraid, so that no one will have any improper thoughts."

Lin Yun covered her mouth and chuckled, thinking that the Emperor was like a child, even his jealousy was so cute.

On their return journey, the setting sun cast long shadows of the two of them.

Lin Yun was still immersed in excitement, rambling on about what she had seen and heard that day.

Yongzheng suddenly stopped, tucked her wind-blown hair behind her ear, and said softly, "I regret it."

"Um?"

"If I had known those soldiers were so unruly, I should have made you wear a veil." His tone was so sour it could drip juice.

Lin Yun was taken aback at first, then burst into laughter, deliberately teasing him: "Your Majesty, have you forgotten? I come from a merchant family and used to be used to showing my face in public."

Yongzheng's eyes darkened, and he picked her up in his arms, striding toward the imperial carriage: "After we return to the palace, I will teach you some manners."

Behind them, Su Peisheng led the palace servants to lower their heads and suppress their laughter.

As the sun set, the carriage slowly entered the Forbidden City.

This night will likely be another night of passionate fervor.
