Xu Fu lowered his head slightly and smiled in agreement.
Xu Lejin quietly inquired about the situation at home outside the palace, asking about her father, mother, younger brother and sister, as well as the sisters on duty inside the palace. Xu Fu picked out some good things to tell Xu Lejin.
Two quarters of an hour later, Xiao Jiangzi led Li Dequan, a young eunuch serving the emperor, into the hall.
Li Dequan bowed to Xu Lejin and said respectfully, "Congratulations, Consort Xu! His Majesty is currently on his way to the west wing of Yikun Palace, where you reside. Please prepare to welcome His Majesty."
Xu Lejin was stunned for a moment.
"Thank you very much, Eunuch Li. You are knowledgeable."
Zhi Shu smiled and presented a purse, "Eunuch Li, this is a small token of my concubine's appreciation, to invite you to drink."
"Thank you for the reward, Consort Xu."
Li Dequan took the purse, glanced at Xu Fu out of the corner of his eye, and after a moment's thought, understood what was going on. "Consort Xu, this servant has other duties to perform before the Emperor, this servant will take his leave."
"Take care, Eunuch Li. Little Jiang will see you off."
Xiao Jiangzi saw Li Dequan out.
Xu Fu paused for a moment, then stood up from his seat.
With obsequious bows, Xu Fu said, "Congratulations, Consort Xu. Since His Majesty is coming to Consort Xu's palace, this servant will take his leave now. If Consort Xu needs anything, she may have a palace servant come to the Imperial Stables to find this servant."
"This servant and the Xu family will do everything in our power to help Consort Xu."
With a gentle smile, Xu Lejin's gaze fell on Xu Fu, scrutinizing him.
After a long while, Xu Lejin smiled and said, "Lejin thanks you, Uncle. Please give my regards to my father and mother."
"Ruhua, please see my uncle off for me."
Ru Hua respectfully agreed and stepped forward with a smile, "Lord Xu, this way please."
"Thank you, Miss Ruhua!"
