Chapter 445 The Thirty-Seventh Year of Kangxi

Time flies like an arrow, and more than two years have passed in the blink of an eye!

August of the thirty-seventh year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign arrived as scheduled.

In the past two years, Consort Tangrou of Changchun Palace, of the Hesheli clan, gave birth to a son in February of the thirty-fifth year. He was not given a name or given a proper order of birth, but was the twentieth son of the emperor.

Consort Wang, after giving birth to the eighteenth prince, safely gave birth to another son in June of the thirty-fifth year, who became the twenty-first prince. At the end of June of the thirty-seventh year, Consort Wang gave birth to a daughter, who became the thirty-third princess.

Consort Chen, the wife of the nineteenth prince, gave birth to the twenty-second prince in the third month of the thirty-sixth year.

Consort Hesheli, a concubine of Sanghua, gave birth to the twenty-third prince in February of the thirty-seventh year of her reign.

also

As of August of the thirty-seventh year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, there were still two concubines in the harem, Liu and Chen, who were pregnant.

During the two-plus years that Emperor Kangxi was so stingy with granting titles, several low-ranking concubines who had given birth to imperial heirs, including Consort Wang, Consort Hesheli, who had both sons and daughters, and Consort Chen, who had given birth to two princes, were not granted titles and were only entitled to the allowances of Noble Lady.

In the imperial harem, some of the older men also passed away one after another.

Among them, those of slightly higher rank were Consort Ying (Ye Mu Shi), who gave birth to a princess; Consort Shen (Qi Jia Shi); Consort Shi; and Consort Shou from Changchun Garden Palace.

Consort Duan, who holds the rank of Imperial Concubine, has been ill for the past two years, with her health fluctuating.

Princes and princesses

Princess Foerguochun, who was raised by Consort Duan since birth and whose imperial genealogy was altered, married into the Wanyan family as Princess Heshuo Tongxian.

Xu Lejin's fourteenth daughter, Wu Lingzhu, was granted the title of Princess Gulun Kangshu. In early 36th year, she married into the Shumulu family in a grand and solemn wedding.

The fifteenth princess, Niyang Qiqi, was granted the title of Princess Heshuo Yuxian and has already married into the Tongjia clan.

Princess Ailanzhu, the sixteenth princess, was granted the title of Princess Heshuo Kejing and married off to Dunbudo Burji, the Khalkha prince of Mongolia.

Princess Ningchuge, the seventeenth princess, was granted the title of Princess Heshuo Kexian. She was married to the Abahai tribe of Mongolia and was the grandson of Prince Abahai and the wife of Abahai Borjigit Tsering.

Princesses nineteen, twentieth, and twenty-first have also received imperial decrees of marriage from Emperor Kangxi, with wedding dates set. They are currently awaiting their marriages.

Among them, the twentieth princess, Yulu Dai, born to Xu Lejin, was to marry into the Xilin Gioro family, and was granted the title of Gulun Shengshu Princess. The wedding date was set for the sixth day of the sixth month of the thirty-eighth year of Kangxi's reign.

First Prince

Although the eldest prince was nearly thirty years old, he still lived in Gan Dongtou. Emperor Kangxi neither bestowed a title upon him nor ordered him to leave the palace to establish his own residence. After weighing the pros and cons, the eldest prince used the elixir given to him by Yin Chu.

In just over two years, the eldest prince had one son and two daughters. The second son was born to Lady Liu Jia, the second daughter to Lady Guarjia Shi, and the third daughter to Lady Niohuru, a secondary consort.

In addition, there are currently two pregnant concubines in the eldest prince's harem.

The second prince's wife, Lady Borjigit, was the daughter of Prince Darhan. She died of illness in May of the thirty-fifth year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign.

From the beginning of the thirty-sixth year until now, five children have been born in the Second Prince's harem. Although they are all princesses, they have made up for the Second Prince's long-standing regret of having no children.

The second prince's eldest and fourth daughters were both born to his concubine, Lady Irgen Gioro. Now, Lady Irgen Gioro is one month pregnant again.

In the backyard of the Fifth Prince Yinzhi

Yinzhi already had one son and two daughters: the eldest son was born to Lady Ulanara, and the eldest and second daughters were born to his concubines Lady Song and Lady Li.

The Sixth Prince, the Seventh Prince, and the Eighth Prince

Although she is young, Consort Ning, Consort Qi, and Consort Duan have already arranged maids and servants to attend to her in her room, and they are just waiting for this year's imperial concubine selection to decide her future wife.

As for Yin Chu

In Yin Chu's backyard were the princesses Sakda and Su, whom Xu Lejin had personally chosen three years ago, as well as the concubine Gu.

Then there's the Ulanara family; Fei Yanggu somehow managed to send two concubines to Yin Chu's side.

A pair of twin sisters, named Tanxia and Zhiqiu.

It is said that the two were once maids who served the eldest daughter of Feiyanggu, Ulanara Yirou.

Although Yin Chu had five women in his harem, both Xu Lejin and Emperor Kangxi knew that Yin Chu had not touched any of them to this day, maintaining his chastity...

mid-August

Consort Que sighed softly and said in a low voice, "Your Highness, time flies so fast. It seems like only yesterday that the imperial concubine selection took place."

"Three years ago, Lady Liu and two Lady Chen entered the palace; this year's candidates are..."

Lowering her voice, Consort Que said softly, "Among this year's candidates, there are many outstanding ones. Among them are Ulanara Yirou, the eldest daughter of Feiyanggu who was registered three years ago but not yet betrothed; Guoluo, the granddaughter of Prince An; and Hadanara, the second daughter of Dong'e Qishi and the daughter of Gualjia Human."

"I have heard that Guwalgiya Human's daughter, who is sixteen years old, is no less beautiful than Ulanara. I wonder if Guwalgiya will be chosen by the Emperor to enter the palace?"

Consort Que's face was filled with unresolved sorrow.

Xu Lejin glanced at Consort Que indifferently and said casually, "If Lady Guarjia is truly so outstanding, it is only natural that she would enter the palace to serve."

"I am the Imperial Noble Consort, and you are a Noble Consort. Even if the Guarjia clan is deeply favored by the Emperor after entering the palace, they cannot surpass you and me."

Consort Que nodded slightly upon hearing this.

"Yes, among the concubines in the palace, apart from a few younger concubines, the rest are all old women who have served the Emperor for many years. I am over thirty, and my youth is long gone."

As she spoke, Consort Que touched her cheek with her delicate hand.
