Aisin-Gioro Yinhu was the twenty-fifth son of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. Among the many princes during Kangxi's reign, he was the twenty-second in lineage. His mother was Empress Xiaoshuren, née Xumur.
Yinhu was born in May of the thirty-eighth year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign.
Yinhu had a twin sister named Xianle, who later became Princess Gulun Chenshu.
The young prince, Yin Hu, had grown fourteen years old. That year, his father, the Emperor Kangxi, abdicated in favor of his fourth brother, Yin Chu, who was also Yin Hu's fourth elder brother.
After Kangxi became the Retired Emperor, the following year, shortly after the Lantern Festival, the Retired Emperor hurriedly took his mother, the Retired Empress, and the concubines to the Changchun Garden Palace to live out his remaining years.
Two years prior, in the 49th year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, Yinhu was granted the title of Dorobele by the Kangxi Emperor.
Yinhu remained in the palace, entrusted to his elder brother, Emperor Yonghe, and his sister-in-law, Lady Ulanara. At that time, Emperor Yonghe's eldest son, Yinhu's nephew Hongxu, was only one year younger than him, and the two were inseparable.
later,
When Yinhu turned seventeen or eighteen, his elder brother, Emperor Yonghe, and his sister-in-law, Lady Ulanara, discussed and planned to choose a consort for him. When Yinhu heard this, he realized that he was about to reach the age to marry a consort, and he immediately panicked.
He's only seventeen or eighteen years old; he has a long time to be free and unrestrained.
I don't want to be tied down.
Perhaps it was because he spent so much time with his nephew Hongxu that Yinhu became like Hongxu, fond of women and passionate, but not loyal or devoted.
Yinhu liked beautiful women, but didn't want to be entangled with them.
So Yinhu left a letter and ran away from home.
Yinhu first went to Mongolia, wanting to see the vast, hairless grasslands, the blue sky and white clouds, the herds of cattle and sheep, and appreciate the beautiful scenery of the boundless sky and the wind blowing the grass low to reveal the cattle and sheep.
Wherever he went, Yinhu would write to his father, Emperor Kangxi, his mother, the Empress Dowager, or his elder brother and sister-in-law at the Changchun Garden Palace to let them know he was safe.
Afterwards, anticipating that his father and elder brother would send people to find him, Yinhu would set off for the next place, constantly changing locations. Yinhu went to many places.
A few years later, Yinhu was already twenty years old.
Passing through a small town, he met a remarkable man who had written a book called "Dream of the Red Chamber." After reading the manuscript, Yin Hu became very curious about the four great families of Jia, Wang, Shi, and Xue, as well as Lin Daiyu, who was said to be the reincarnation of the Crimson Pearl Fairy.
Why did Yinhu dislike the other characters, or dislike Jia Baoyu, who was born with a jade in his mouth?
Haha, it's probably fate.
Furthermore, Yinhu did not like men who grew up surrounded by women, nor did he have any penchant for liking men.
Yin Hu went to the legendary Jinling.
He then went to the prosperous Jiangnan region. While there, Yinhu met a girl surnamed Lin, who, like Lin Daiyu in "Dream of the Red Chamber," was melancholic and sentimental, and equally prone to lamenting the passing of spring and autumn.
The difference is that this Lin family member has a much better background than Lin Daiyu.
Although he came from a merchant family, he was well-off and never had to live under someone else's roof. He was not like Jia Baoyu, who had a preordained love with a stone.
After spending some time with Lin, Yinhu suddenly felt that this girl was very nice and kind-hearted. So Yinhu took Lin back to the capital to inform his father, mother, brother, and sister-in-law that he was preparing to get married.
During the journey, Yinhu went to Jinling to pick up several of his former confidantes from his time there: Lady Jia, Lady Wang, Lady Shi, and Lady Xue.
Lin was secretly saddened to find that Yin Hu was not alone, but there was nothing she could do, because her father and brothers had already betrothed her to Yin Hu after learning of his identity.
And so, after a journey of sightseeing and enjoying the scenery, Yin Chu returned to the capital with the women and settled into his mansion.
Yinhu submitted a memorial to the Yonghe Emperor, proposing to marry Lady Lin as his consort and the four daughters of Jia, Wang, Shi, and Xue as princesses. The Yonghe Emperor was greatly shocked and hurriedly sent a letter to the retired emperor and empress dowager at the Changchun Garden Palace to report...
After the retired Emperor Kangxi and the retired Empress Xu Muer returned to the palace.
Yin Hu brought Lin Shi and the four daughters of Jia Wang Shi Xue to the palace to pay their respects to the Emperor Emeritus and Empress Emeritus.
The Empress Dowager, who was also Yinhu's mother, looked at Yinhu with a strange expression, seemingly trying to discern something from his face. Later, she even sent Yinhu away, leaving only Lady Lin, the four daughters of Jia, Wang, Shi, and Xue behind.
Yinhu had no idea what his mother, Lady Lin, and the four daughters of Jia, Wang, Shi, and Xue had discussed.
Emperor Kangxi was initially firmly opposed to Yinhu marrying a merchant's daughter as his wife, but Yinhu's mother said that since Yinhu was the youngest son, it wouldn't matter if he married a merchant's daughter, as long as he was happy.
The two remained deadlocked for a month, during which the emperor's elder brother and sister-in-law were caught in the middle. Several elder sisters, brothers-in-law, brothers, and sisters-in-law took turns trying to persuade him, but still, they could not change Yinhu's mind.
Finally, Emperor Kangxi, after Yinhu's persistent efforts and after Yinhu acted first and reported later, and after Lady Lin became pregnant, reluctantly agreed to let Yinhu marry Lady Lin as his primary wife.
Yinhu finally married the woman he loved, and was overjoyed.
However, after the marriage, Lin became pregnant, and given her sentimental nature, Yin Hu was quite helpless about it.
After coaxing Lin Shi several times, Yin Hu lost patience and felt that Lin Shi was nothing special, just like most women in the world. He was only fond of women with the surname Lin because he had read the manuscript of "Dream of the Red Chamber".
It just so happened that the Lin family appeared at that time.
Finding nothing particularly special about Lin, Yinhu then turned to the four women of Jia, Wang, Shi, and Xue, lingering between their rooms.
