Prince Cheng, Yin Zhi
Yinzhi was the son of Consort Rong, of the Ma Jia clan. Consort Rong entered the palace through a preliminary selection process by the Imperial Household Department in her early years. She initially served as a palace maid and later became a concubine, serving the emperor.
Consort Rong, of the Ma Jia clan, was pregnant seven times. Her second pregnancy was in the eighth year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, but she miscarried before three months had passed. Therefore, the record in the "Draft History of the Qing Dynasty: Biographies of Empresses and Consorts" states that Consort Rong gave birth to two sons and four daughters. Her first son, who was the eldest son of the Kangxi Emperor, died young.
In the tenth year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, Yinzhi was born in Zhongcui Palace.
Yinzhi's childhood nickname was Saiyinchaze. Initially, he was known throughout the palace as the Fourth Prince. His three older brothers, Chengrui, Chenghu, and Chengqing, all died in infancy.
In the sixteenth year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, Empress Niohuru was established as the new emperor, and Saiyinchaze was given the name Yinzhi. He was ranked as the eldest prince, and his mother, Lady Magiya, was initially granted the title of Consort Rong.
After the sixteenth year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, Lady Ma Jia did not bear any more children. Several years later, she lost out in a palace power struggle and died. After her death, she was posthumously honored as Consort Rong.
In the twenty-third year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, Yinzhi's wife was chosen to be from the Guarjia Shi clan, the daughter of Commander-in-Chief Shi Wenbing.
Three years passed in the blink of an eye. In the twenty-sixth year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, Yinzhi married a woman from the Guarjia Shi clan. The following year, in March of the twenty-seventh year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, he married a secondary consort from the Niohuru clan.
Initially, Yinzhi had difficulty conceiving. In ten years of marriage, only Lady Guarjia Shishi gave birth to his eldest son, and...
Cao Jia, who started as a palace maid, was later promoted to the rank of Gege after giving birth to Yin Ti's eldest daughter.
From the 28th year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign until the 35th year, none of the wives, concubines, or maids in Yinzhi's harem conceived.
Thirty-six years after the Kangxi Emperor's death, children began to be born frequently in Yinzhi's harem.
In the thirty-seventh year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, Yinzhi was granted the title of Prince of Doruocheng.
It wasn't until the 49th year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign that Yinzhi finally received a promotion, becoming a Prince of the First Rank. In the same year, Yinzhi submitted a petition requesting that his daughter, Lady Cheng, be granted the title of Consort.
Emperor Kangxi readily agreed.
In the fifty-first year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, the emperor abdicated, and Yinzhi, who had been living in constant fear, finally relaxed and was no longer worried!
because,
Although Yinzhi was always devoted to poetry and books and never participated in court affairs, his status as the eldest prince and Kangxi's de facto eldest son meant that he was destined to be involved in the struggle for the throne from birth.
Half of the princesses and concubines in the inner courtyard were daughters of high-ranking officials. The officials' intentions were clear: they wanted him to compete for the supreme position and thus gain merit for supporting the emperor.
Even the Fujin Guarjia Shi clan had been working hard for many years to navigate among noblewomen, trying to win them over and curry favor.
Yinzhi had a total of ten daughters and four sons. By the fifty-first year of the Kangxi reign, his eldest son had married a noblewoman from a prominent family. His eldest daughter, born to Lady Cao, was sent away to Mongolia by Lady Guarjia Shi.
The second son and his second daughter, both only sixteen years old, from the Guarjia Shi clan, had already discussed the matter with the wives of noble families in the court, planning to arrange their marriage immediately after the imperial concubine selection the following year.
However, man proposes, God disposes, and Emperor Kangxi suddenly abdicated.
With Emperor Kangxi's abdication, Yinzhi felt a great weight lifted from his shoulders. From then on, he resigned from his post in the Imperial Clan Court and devoted himself to the natural beauty of the Prince Cheng's residence, detached from worldly affairs.
At most, Yinzhi would inquire about the marriages of his children.
—————
Prince Yinti
In the eleventh year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, Yinti was born in Yanxi Palace. His birth mother at the time was Consort Nara.
Yinti had a full brother named Chengqing, but unfortunately Chengqing died in infancy and never even met his younger brother Yinti.
Consort Nara fell out of favor after the birth of Yinti. Although she was later granted the title of Consort Hui and promoted to Imperial Concubine Hui, assisting in the management of the six palaces, she was still truly out of favor.
Yinti was strong and healthy from a young age, and compared to the sickly eldest prince Yinzhi, he appeared even more robust, like a bull.
Furthermore, because Kangxi only had three sons until the nineteenth year of his reign, Yinti was constantly being taught by Consort Hui to strive for the supreme throne in the future.
Yinti was physically strong, and thus, at the age of nine, he developed an interest in women. Coupled with the seduction of the palace maids around him, he began engaging in illicit sexual relations with them at a young age.
During this time, Consort Hui, also known as Consort Hui, learned of the situation and tried to stop him several times, but she could not prevent Yinti from being impulsive at such a young age.
The most serious incident occurred when Yinqi was eleven years old and the palace maid serving him was fourteen. Yinqi successfully got the fourteen-year-old maid pregnant; she was already three months along.
When Consort Hui learned of this, she immediately ordered the palace maid to be beaten to death.
Later, Consort Hui broke her forehead and suddenly became a different person. Without the restraint of his "own mother," Yinti became even more unrestrained, indulging in women at a young age. By the time Consort Hui realized what was happening, it was too late.
At the age of thirteen, Yinti was betrothed to a woman from the Khorchin Mongols, the daughter of Prince Darhan, a woman of noble birth.
However, just as the wedding date was about to be discussed, Prince Darhan's daughter died suddenly. Yinti's wife was changed to Prince Darhan's younger daughter, and Yinti also gained two concubines, Dong'e and Irgen Gioro.
Both Dong E and Irgen Gioro were noble ladies from high-ranking families, more than qualified to be Yinti's secondary consorts.
Yinti became addicted to the pleasures of the land and gradually his body was drained. In addition, Yinzhi was ordered to go to Mongolia as a wedding envoy, and after returning, he began to dislike his future wife.
At this time, one of Yinti's concubines became pregnant. After seven months of pregnancy, she gave birth prematurely to a daughter who died after crying only once.
