Chapter 501 Extra: Kangxi's Daughter Part Two

Princess Moyaqi of Heshuo Duanjing

On the sixth day of the fifth month of the thirteenth year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, three days after Empress Xiaocheng's death following childbirth, Moyaqi was born in Zhongcui Palace, one of the Six Eastern Palaces. She was Kangxi's seventh daughter and was ranked as the sixth princess.

Moyaqi's birth mother, Lady Zhaojia, completely fell out of favor after giving birth to Moyaqi. In the sixteenth year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, she was merely granted the title of Noble Lady Bu.

Later, Consort Bu moved from Zhongcui Palace, one of the Six Eastern Palaces, to Changchun Palace, and then to the rear hall of Yongshou Palace.

When Moyaqi was thirteen or fourteen, she was betrothed to the Kharachin tribe of Mongolia. At the time, Lady Bu Guiren Zhaojia strongly opposed it, but later, after Moyaqi's persuasion, Lady Bu Guiren gladly accepted it and even looked forward to the sixth princess marrying into the Kharachin tribe as soon as possible.

The reason for this is that Moyaqi is a princess sent for a political marriage, and when she marries, she is very likely to be promoted to the rank of her birth mother. In this way, Consort Bu may be promoted to the rank of Consort Bu.

The fact that Consort Bu moved to the rear hall of Yongshou Palace further solidified the possibility of her being promoted to the rank of Consort in the future.

Later, Consort Bu died young before Moyaqi could marry. She was posthumously honored as Consort Bu. In the 30th year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, the 18-year-old Moyaqi was honored as Princess Heshuo Duanjing and married into the Kharachin Mongols on the third day of the ninth month.

Although Moyaqi and her husband, the prince of the Kharachin tribe, did not have a good relationship, she still lived a life of luxury. In her later years, because Emperor Yonghe often sent his half-brothers to visit her in the Kharachin tribe, Moyaqi's later life was smooth.

For many years, Moyaqi struggled to give birth to a son and a daughter in the Kharachin tribe. In the twenty-second year of the Yonghe reign, Moyaqi reached the end of her life in the Kharachin tribe, passing away at the age of sixty.

Princess Heshuo Jingxian, Yartan

Yartan was the fifth child of Consort Rong, of the Ma Jia clan, and the third daughter of Consort Rong. She was born in June of the fourteenth year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign and was the tenth daughter of the Kangxi Emperor. Later, she was named the Ninth Princess.

Having lost his mother at a young age, Yartan grew up smoothly under the care of his older brother, sister, wet nurse, and palace servants.

Before Yartan, there was an older sister, Princess Rongxian, who married into the Bairin tribe of Mongolia, and another older sister, Princess Mingke, who married into the Niohuru family. According to the imperial balance, either Yartan or his younger sister, Princess Yierha, who was two years younger than him, would be married off to Mongolia for a political marriage.

In the 26th year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, the Dzungar Khanate petitioned for the marriage of a Qing princess, specifically requesting the twelve-year-old Princess Uyghur. The Kangxi Emperor was enraged and launched a military campaign against the Dzungars.

In addition, Kangxi also betrothed Yartan to the Khoshut tribe.

The Khoshut tribe had been destroyed by Galdan of the Dzungar Khanate several years earlier. The wife of the Khoshut prince fled to Beijing with her two young children, seeking the protection of the Qing Dynasty.

Although Yartan was a princess sent for a political marriage, she and her husband, a Beile from the Khoshut tribe, lived as hostages in the capital.

In the thirty-first year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, Yartan was bestowed the title of Princess Jingxian of the Heshuo clan. In August of the same year, she married into the Heshuo Te tribe. After their marriage, Yartan and her husband had a lukewarm relationship.

Years later, she had two sons and two daughters.

In the eleventh year of the Yonghe reign, the prince consort of the Khoshut tribe requested permission to return to the Khoshut tribe of Mongolia. Emperor Yonghe gladly granted his request, and Yartan followed his consort to marry a member of the Khoshut tribe. He lived out his days in the Khoshut tribe and passed away at the age of seventy.

Princess Shadali of Heshuo Minjing

Shadali was the eleventh daughter of Emperor Kangxi, and later became the tenth princess. Her birth mother was Consort Zhi, of the Nara clan. She had a younger sister who was the fifteenth princess, Ni Yang Qiqi.

Shadali was born in Yanxi Palace in the fourteenth year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign.

At that time, Consort Zhi, of the Nara clan, was just a minor concubine. She was recommended by Consort Hui, of the Nara clan, to serve Emperor Kangxi. She was Consort Hui's distant cousin.

Four years later, Consort Zhi gave birth to another daughter.

Later, Consort Zhi, who was then Noble Lady Zhi, had a falling out with Consort Hui and moved out of Yanxi Palace to Yanqing Hall, which was outside the Six Eastern and Western Palaces.

Consort Zhi was granted the title of concubine, but she passed away less than two years later.

Shadali and his sister Niyang Qiqi were sent to the Prince's residence, where they were raised by wet nurses and palace servants.

At the age of fourteen, Shadali was betrothed to Zhawangdorji, a member of the Borjigit clan and a descendant of Prince Zhuoliktu of the Khorchin Mongols.

In the thirty-first year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, the emperor bestowed upon Shadali the title of Princess Heshuo Minjing, and in September of the same year, she married into the Khorchin tribe.

After her marriage, Shadali did not have a good relationship with her husband, Zhawangdorji. This was because Shadali did not have a mother in the palace to help her, and because she only had a younger sister, Niyangqiqi, and no brothers.

Although her younger sister, Niyang Qiqi, avoided the fate of being married off to a Mongol, her husband was only from a collateral branch of the Tongjia clan and held no important position in the court. In the harem...

Although Consort Que of the Tongjia clan was present in the palace at that time, it was no secret that Consort Que and Tong Guowei of the Tong family had fallen out.

Zhawangdorji only needed to send someone to inquire, and he would know everything clearly.

Therefore, after Shadali married into the Khorchin tribe, she was not favored and had no children. It was not until Emperor Kangxi abdicated and Emperor Yonghe ascended the throne that Shadali's life became more comfortable. He often sent his brothers to deliver things to the princesses who had married into Mongolia.

In the eighteenth year of the Yonghe reign, Shadali died peacefully in the Khorchin tribe.

Princess Yierha of Heshuo Lingke

Yierha was the youngest daughter of Consort Rong, of the Majia clan, and was born in the sixteenth year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign.

When Consort Ma Jia passed away, Yierha was not yet four years old, still an innocent child. Later, regarding the details about his birth mother, Consort Rong, Yierha, being the eldest prince, learned from his older sisters...
