Chapter 200 Little Li

As Fude walked ahead, he glanced at the bright-eyed Xiao Li out of the corner of his eye and thought to himself.

The snow in front of the Cold Palace had been cleared away, and when they arrived at the palace gate, the imperial guards on duty let them through, and Fude's thoughts, which had been disturbed by Xiao Li, finally came back to normal.

He carefully examined the low, dilapidated buildings in front of him. Just as he had expected, the Cold Palace courtyard was in a terrible state of disrepair, with each building clustered together like a dangerous structure, which looked frightening.

The land in front of us was completely covered by heavy snow, and there was no trace of human habitation.

Fude couldn't help but wonder if anyone still lived in this cold palace. Could it be that all those abandoned concubines had frozen to death? Tsk tsk, if they all died, he wouldn't be able to explain himself to his superiors.

Just as he was lost in thought, Xiao Li had already placed the food he brought on a clean table. He looked around, his mind clearly elsewhere.

It wasn't until he spotted a black, human-like creature in the distance that Ford excitedly moved his legs, which were numb from the cold. "Quick, quick, Little Li, get the food ready!"

"Okay."

As they approached, Fude finally saw the face before him: a woman in her forties, somewhat aged but still bearing traces of her former beauty. She was dressed very simply, wearing a blue jacket with several obvious patches. She calmly looked at the two of them and said, "Get your food."

Fude sighed. This must be one of the late emperor's concubines. If these masters hadn't suffered such misfortunes, their lives would have been so much better! Fude's movements faltered as he thought this. Meeting the calm gaze of the woman who appeared to be the late emperor's concubine, Fude couldn't help but feel a pang of unease at his own thoughts. He turned his head away, no longer daring to look at his former master, and quickly began to prepare the dishes at hand.

"Give us more, enough for two people."

Fude paused, then added two more spoonfuls of food to the serving spoon.
