Chapter 203 Cuiyue Discovers

As the cold winter days pass, all things begin to revive, with tender buds and new leaves, white clouds and clear water. Some plants bloom in a hurry, even before their leaves have fully grown, they eagerly burst into bloom.

"Oh dear, oh dear, Princess, Princess, slow down, slow down, don't fall!" A thin palace maid looked at a four-year-old child in a dress with a worried expression and said.

"Aunt Wu Yu is too slow. How can you fly a kite if you don't hurry?" Cuiyue pouted, her fair and pretty face scrunched up.

As she spoke, the little girl nimbly ran around with her tiny, rounded legs, making one wonder if the high-flying kite might pull the little princess away.

The little princess was running ahead, and the maids had no choice but to follow closely behind.

The winds are strong in early spring, which is perfect for flying kites.

Cuiyue's face turned rosy from running, and her bun hairstyle became crooked.

Just then, a strong gust of wind passed, and the kite flew higher and higher. The little princess became even more excited. Perhaps heaven couldn't bear to see the little princess so excited, because the kite suddenly broke in half with a "whoosh," leaving the little girl's face frozen on the spot.

Unfortunately, a kite that has broken free of its string will not care about its owner's feelings and will keep flying away on its own.

The little girl's eyes reddened as she watched the kite fly away freely. Damn it, that was her favorite kite!

Thinking this, the little girl held her breath and suddenly chased after the "escaped" kite.

The maid who had just caught up with the little princess was dumbfounded when she saw the princess about to disappear again. "Princess, wait for us!"

Then, in the palace, one could see a little girl dressed in gorgeous clothes running ahead, followed by a group of palace maids chasing after her.

Passersby, palace maids, and eunuchs looked at the well-dressed little girl in front of them and made a guess that this was probably the only daughter of the emperor, Princess Cuiyue.

In terms of the Emperor's offspring, there are quite a few princes in the palace, but strangely, there are very few princesses. Some die young after birth, while others fall ill after a short period of care. In all things considered, only Princess Cuiyue has survived and is healthy. Although she was born to Consort Yang, she is fortunate in her fate and rare in her possession. The little princess has gained the attention of the Emperor and the Empress Dowager and has become one of the most untouchable mistresses in the palace.

So when the palace maids saw a four-year-old girl leading a group of maids running rampant in the palace, they guessed that this must be the princess.

She silently envied the palace maids who served the princess.

Little did they know that the palace maids they envied were actually envious of them. Although the little princess had a good monthly salary and treatment, she was still too difficult to serve. Because of the favor of the two powerful figures in the capital, the little princess was lively and mischievous and loved to go out and play every day. Children have boundless energy, and that's when they were in trouble, having to chase after the little princess every day.

Watching the little princess running around without getting tired every day, Wu Yu couldn't help but wonder if God had given the little princess the wrong gender, otherwise how could she be so lively?

Cuiyue was unaware that Wu Yu, the head palace maid following behind her, was inwardly complaining about her boundless energy. She stared at the kite in front of her, her beautiful eyes practically spitting fire.

She must get tired after chasing the kite for so long.

But this kite is all about mindset; it goes slow one minute and fast the next. Every time she's about to catch up, a strong gust of wind blows it away. And so, the more Cuiyue chases after it, the angrier she gets.

Retrieving the kite was no longer her original intention; now, all she cared about was catching it, and nothing else mattered.

Twisting and turning, the little girl unknowingly shook off the group of people behind her. When she got to the back, she finally saw a kite landed on a courtyard. Her eyes lit up, but she suddenly realized that she had arrived in an unfamiliar place. There was a white wall in front of her, and there were no palace maids or eunuchs around.

The little girl felt a bit scared, but having already witnessed the kite fall, she was unwilling to leave just like that. Although she didn't recognize the place, she was the princess, and no one dared to offend her. Thinking of this, the little girl's fear subsided, and she groped around the white wall in front of her, thinking about how to get through and retrieve the kite that had landed on the building.

Meanwhile, Wu Yu and her friends went crazy after realizing they had lost the little princess, frantically searching everywhere for her.

Leaving aside the fury of the Emperor and Empress Dowager upon discovering the disappearance of the Eldest Princess, Cuiyue, whom they were worried about, finally found a passage through the white wall.

It was a dog hole, a narrow little entrance blocked by a bush. The chubby little girl pushed aside the leaves and crawled through.

Upon exiting, one is greeted by a dilapidated and desolate palace.

Looking at the palace, so different from her own, the little girl opened her mouth in surprise and curiously looked around the courtyard. Her previous fear had disappeared, and all that remained was the joy of discovering a secret base.

She walked toward the courtyard where the kite was flying. Along the way, a chubby little girl with her round face looked around and stared in every direction.

As the little girl walked inside, she was surprised to find that the path in front of her was much cleaner. The fallen leaves that had been scattered all over the ground were gone, and some smooth stone slabs had been laid on top.

As she walked, the little girl saw a sapling with red fruit. She ran over to it, her round fingers poking at the smooth fruit. It was soft. She leaned closer and smelled it. It smelled sweet. It must be fruit.

Just then, feeling hungry, the little girl exerted a bit of effort. The fruit was so ripe that she could easily pick it. Cuiyue took a small bite, and her eyes lit up: "Mmm, sweet! Delicious!"

However, the little girl, still munching on fruit, didn't forget to look for her kite, and continued walking towards the yard where the kite had fallen.

As soon as they reached the door, the little girl's eyes widened in surprise.

The yard wasn't locked, and the gate was wide open.

But there she was, a woman dressed in plain white, her long, delicate eyelashes closed, lying on a simple recliner.

The dappled sunlight fell on the woman, casting dazzling halos of light. Her skin, as delicate as a marble of fat, appeared translucent like white jade under the sunlight. Her delicate eyebrows and pink lips were so perfect that she seemed unreal. Her beauty was breathtaking and captivating.

Although Princess Cuiyue was young, she already understood what beauty was.

Looking at the beautiful woman lying on the recliner in the distance, seemingly asleep, Cuiyue couldn't help but murmur, "Fairy Sister!"

Without a second thought, the little girl, her eyes shining brightly, ran into the yard.
