Chapter 331 Enjoying Flowers in the Garden

The next day, at the General's Mansion.

"Young Master! Miss Jiang sent you a letter."

The tall man, who had been practicing martial arts early in the morning, took the towel handed to him by a guard and hastily wiped himself down.

He carefully wiped the sweat from his hands before taking the envelope from the beaming servant.

The man opened the letter.

...

The man's lips curled slightly after reading the letter. As a young man from a military family who had achieved fame at a young age, Jiang Chengxi knew from birth what destiny he was destined for.

Unlike most people, Jiang Chengxi didn't object to his fiancée, whom he had already arranged. Especially after seeing that his fiancée was such a beautiful, lively, and cheerful young woman, he couldn't help but have some romantic thoughts about her, given their relationship.

Bai Zhenzhu wrote this letter to him, she must be missing him, Jiang Chengxi thought uncertainly.

Recalling how few times he had visited the Bai residence since their engagement, Jiang Chengxi made up his mind.

"Little Mustache, prepare the horses and head to the Marquis of Weining's residence."

"Yes, young master."

The young man, riding a horse and dressed in a black robe, galloped toward the Marquis of Weining's residence.

Qingyin looked at Bai Zhenzhu, who was rarely seen in front of her, in the courtyard, and raised her eyebrows with interest.

I wonder what her younger sister is up to by suddenly coming here?

Bai Zhenzhu's eyes squinted as Qingyin stared at her.

Forcing herself to remain calm, she forced a smile and said, "Elder sister has been cooped up in the courtyard these past few days because of her illness. Why don't you come for a stroll in the garden with me today and clear your head?"

Yesterday, after returning to her room, Bai Zhenzhu thought for a long time. She wasn't a particularly bad person, and she couldn't think of any way to force her elder sister to marry Jiang Chengxi. In the end, the solution she came up with was to bring Qingyin and Jiang Chengxi together. That way, they would be in love with each other, and she wouldn't have to tell her mother anymore.

Suppressing her inner shame, Bai Zhenzhu looked innocently at Qingyin and smiled sweetly.

She seemed to be a really nice little sister who just wanted to keep her older sister company and help her relax.

Qingyin was curious about her purpose, so she simply agreed.

Sure enough, when she agreed, Qingyin clearly noticed that Bai Zhenzhu breathed a huge sigh of relief.

The two strolled leisurely into the courtyard. Qingyin occasionally teased her scheming yet naive younger sister by saying she suddenly felt tired and wanted to rest and go home. Watching her frustrated and trying to please her, trying to get her to stay, Qingyin's eyes were full of interest.

Bai Zhenzhu had no idea what Qingyin was thinking.

Thinking that Qingyin was really tired, she insisted on keeping Qingyin there, feeling somewhat guilty.

When she heard her personal maid beckoning to her again, she ran over almost at breakneck speed.

"Sister, Nuan needs to see me. I'll be right back. Please wait for me!" Bai Zhenzhu kept reminding me as she ran off.

Qingyin felt tired just thinking about how busy she was.

But Bai Zhenzhu, preoccupied with her tattling, clearly didn't feel tired at all.

In the distance, Qingyin watched as Bai Zhenzhu ran to the maid named Anuan, said a few words, and then walked outside.

Qingyin stood there calmly, enjoying the flowers with a pleasant mood.

"Miss, are we just going to admire the flowers here and wait for the Second Miss?" Xiangling asked in confusion.

With a slight smile and affectionate eyes, Qingyin, dressed in a simple white dress, resembled a pure jasmine flower in full bloom.

"Since my sister has said so, we will naturally wait for her."

"Xiangling, can you look for a pavilion? I'm a little tired, I'll sit and wait for her."

"Okay, Miss, I'll go take a look ahead." The impatient Xiangling ran ahead and wandered around for a while before quickly finding a pavilion.

"Miss, there's a place here to rest," she exclaimed in delight.

Qingyin slowly walked to the place Xiangling had mentioned.

The pavilion had been carefully cleaned by the maids, and Qingyin could sit down immediately.

This pavilion was probably built for guests to rest while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the garden, and its height provides a clear view of the garden.

This also includes the man that Bai Zhenzhu brought.

Although Jiang Chengxi had some feelings for his fiancée, he rarely saw her due to the rules he had followed since childhood. The last time he saw her was at Princess Wuyan's flower-viewing banquet, where he caught a glimpse of her whining to her mother and asking to go out to play.

After not seeing her for many days, Bai Zhenzhu's once youthful face had blossomed into something beautiful.

Jiang Chengxi wanted to greet Bai Zhenzhu first, but Bai Zhenzhu interrupted him before he could speak.

"Will you come with me to the garden to see the flowers for a while?" the bright and cheerful girl said in an unquestionable tone.

Jiang Chengxi frowned slightly. His fiancée was young and naive, so it was only right that he be patient and tolerant.

Jiang Chengxi nodded slightly, accepting Bai Zhenzhu's invitation, and followed her.

Bai Zhenzhu walked quickly ahead, not caring whether the man behind her could keep up or not, her mind filled with the thought that she couldn't let Qingyin get tired and leave first.

She insisted that Bai Mengyin meet Jiang Chengxi first.

Jiang Chengxi slightly quickened her pace, looking at the girl ahead who was about to run, and couldn't understand why she insisted on walking so fast.

But his long-standing habit made it impossible for him to ask a woman for reasons, especially since she was his future fiancée.

Bai Zhenzhu excitedly ran back to the garden where she and Qingyin were enjoying the scenery. Looking at the empty figure at the entrance, she widened her eyes. Could it be that Bai Mengyin had left?

Then all her efforts today were wasted, weren't they?

Just as Bai Zhenzhu was having an existential crisis, Jiang Chengxi caught up without batting an eye.

Unable to find anyone, Bai Zhenzhu glared at the man as a way of venting her frustration.
