Chapter 352 Thank You for the Eye Drops

Lin Wanyu and Lin Yanwei were called by Qingyin to buy some fruit syrup and snacks.

Only Qingyin and Wu Yong remained. One was handsome and the other was pretty. Although the woman wore a veil, her eyes were truly captivating, and coupled with her graceful figure, she was clearly a great beauty.

Behind them followed a group of tall and burly guards, clearly not young masters and ladies from ordinary families. The sight of the two of them displaying several large fish attracted the attention of quite a few people.

However, due to the guards behind them, they dared not approach and could only watch from afar.

Looking at the slender and beautiful girl beside him, Wu Yong wanted to win her favor. He also abandoned his pride as a young master of a noble family. He secretly watched the fishmonger's cries on the other side and imitated his cries: "Hey, selling fish! Freshly caught big fish."

Hearing his voice, Qingyin turned her head in surprise. She never expected that this young master from the general's mansion would actually have the audacity to shout that he was selling fish.

Upon receiving the girl's gaze, Wu Yong seemed encouraged, and his voice grew louder and more practiced.

For a moment, it actually attracted a rather bold middle-aged man dressed in an ordinary robe.

The middle-aged man dared not look at the veiled young lady in front of him, so he focused his eyes on the several large, lively fish in the bucket in front of them and asked cautiously, "Gentlemen and ladies, are you here to sell fish in good faith?"

Wu Yong scoffed lightly, instinctively wanting to retort, "If you're not really here to sell fish, are you just playing around?"

However, the next second, Wu Yong realized that his beloved was beside him. Most young ladies from wealthy families prefer gentle and refined gentlemen and dislike men with fierce tempers.

Wu Yong swallowed the words of complaint he was about to say and stiffly looked at the skinny middle-aged man opposite him, smiling, "Heh, yes, if you want to buy it, then..." How much? Wu Yong's eyes showed a slight hesitation.

Wu Yong, who often eats fish, really didn't know how much this fish could sell for.

Qingyin, seeing Wu Yong's predicament at a glance, smiled and said, "If you want to buy, sir, we have big fish here, so it'll be thirty coins a fish."

Unlike Wu Yong, who knew nothing, Qingyin had already noticed the price of the fish by the river from the fishmongers when she arrived. Most of the adult fish weighing five to six catties were priced between thirty and fifty coins.

Qingyin's quoted price is already considered quite low in the market.

Sure enough, after hearing this, the middle-aged man relaxed a little and his eyes lit up. His wife had just given birth and needed to replenish her energy, so a fish soup would be perfect.

He divided the thirty coins in half, keeping one half and stewing the other. He didn't eat it himself, but his wife could save it for three days. The price was already very reasonable.

The man gritted his teeth and decided to buy one.

"Yes, please give me one, young master and young lady."

A successful start always brings extra joy.

Wu Yong, who had just received his first thirty coins, which he and his sweetheart had earned together, was grinning from ear to ear. The thirty coins were less than his usual allowance.

Excited, he prepared to catch a fish for someone himself.

Noticing the rather discreet patch on the man's clothes, Qingyin gently patted Wu Yong's arm, which was bulging with veins from excitement and unable to sleep. She pointed her slender, fair finger at the largest carp in the bucket and said, "Net this one."

Wu Yong's excited arm froze instantly when his beloved's slender, fair hand touched it.

For a moment, Wu Yong's mind was filled with all sorts of random thoughts: Qingqing touched him, she likes him, hmm, hehe, when should he marry Qingqing, and what should he name their future children?

Qingyin was unaware that she had only asked Wu Yong to pick the biggest fish to sell to the seller because she felt sorry for him. Wu Yong had already started to think about their future marriage and the names of their children.

Otherwise, she would probably give the man a few eye rolls.

After watching the man obediently stuff the large fish into the middle-aged man's hand, Qingyin looked at the middle-aged man's joyful and grateful eyes, raised her eyebrows slightly and smiled, without saying a word.

The middle-aged man bowed gratefully to Qingyin and then happily jogged off in the direction of home.

When everyone saw that the two young masters and ladies were genuinely selling fish and that the prices were quite reasonable, they were all genuinely tempted and gathered around.

Amidst the cacophony of voices in the crowd, Wu Yong disregarded the happy fantasies swirling in his mind and began explaining the prices of the fish and how to catch them.

In the distance, Xie Ping, who had changed into a white robe and disguised himself, watched the girl and man not far away. One of them was explaining gently, while the other was catching and selling fish. They looked like a sweet poor couple helping each other sell fish. The jealousy in Xie Ping's eyes was so intense that it almost tore the man in the distance apart.

Hmph, if it weren't for his current inconvenient status, he wouldn't have allowed that scoundrel to get close to his Qingqing.

Suddenly sensing a murderous intent, Wu Yong abruptly raised his head, his sharp gaze keenly fixed on Xie Ping's direction.

But there was nothing there except trees.

Wu Yong frowned, his hand pausing as he scooped up the fish. Qingyin asked softly, somewhat puzzled, "What's wrong?"

Wu Yong suppressed his earlier doubts and smiled gently, "It's nothing. I just saw a pure black bird perched on that tree, and it was quite intriguing."

"A black bird? That's certainly rare." Qingyin nodded, wondering what the man had seen. A crow? But she hadn't heard a crow's call.

The girl thought about it carefully, her beautiful big eyes clearly showing curiosity about the black bird, making her look incredibly cute.
