The man responded with a cold snort, "Heh."
The man returned, his hands still covered in mud and grime.
Qingyin looked at the man's hand, and her eyelids twitched involuntarily a few times.
"You're not planning to smear this on my face, are you?"
The man chuckled and said, "The Lady of Zhalute guessed correctly, but there is no reward."
Qingyin: No! Stay away from me!
Qingyin's eyes conveyed a strong sense of rejection, but she couldn't escape the man's hands, which felt like iron fists.
Her face was completely covered in dirty cement, except for her beautiful eyes.
The man looked at her and frowned.
A sense of foreboding rose in Qingyin's heart once again.
"What else do you want to do?"
Ten minutes later, an old man with a haggard and sorrowful face dragged out a dilapidated donkey cart from somewhere. The cart was covered with weeds, and a small boy dressed in coarse cloth lay on it. His eyes were covered with a white cloth that was barely clean, and his face and body were covered with mud.
The old body slowly drove away from the narrow, dark alley.
As soon as they left the alley, another group of guards appeared at the other end of the alley.
Nan Chu led a group of guards to open the small courtyard in the alley. He kicked open the door and saw the room where the Fujin was wearing the same dress, jewelry, and veil that evening.
He arrived too late; the kidnapper had already taken the princess away.
Fortunately, the interior wasn't inside, otherwise Nan Chu would probably be so angry he'd want to kill someone.
"Keep chasing."
"yes."
"The entire city is under lockdown."
Upon hearing this, Chen Si raised his head and said cautiously, "Master, if this matter gets out of hand, it will probably damage the reputation of the Fujin (the wife of the deceased).
Nan Chu swallowed his anger at having personally lost his wife and said, "It's alright. Just say someone brought in contraband, and we'll leave it alone for now."
"Yes, Master."
Chen Si stepped back.
