Chapter 232 Dumpling Soup

In the end, the two of them didn't make many dumplings, but it was enough for them to have a meal.

Tong Cheng'er also specifically instructed the kitchen not to waste any dumplings, and to cook even those that didn't look very appealing.

Since it was made by Yinzhen himself, he naturally wanted to eat it.

When it was time to eat, Tong Cheng'er was eating a bowl of white and tender dumplings, while Yinzhen had a bowl of dumpling soup with the filling spilling out in front of him.

A bowl of dumplings, skin and filling included, but there were less than two whole dumplings. Yinzhen had never eaten anything like this before.

Tong Cheng'er smiled and ate a dumpling, then looked at him and said with a smile, "Why aren't you eating? You made them yourself, don't waste them!"

Yinzhen looked at what was in his own bowl, then at what was in his concubine's bowl, and the contrast was truly stark.

"Is Cheng'er really willing to let me eat all this?"

"What's there to be reluctant about? The dumplings you made yourself are naturally extraordinary, and only you can digest them. No one else can eat them!"

Yinzhen finally understood that she was probably angry with him, which was why she was deliberately punishing him like this.

Looking at the dumpling soup in front of him, Yinzhen thought that if it could make her happy, he wouldn't mind eating it.

So Yinzhen picked up his chopsticks and began to eat.

He ate with complete ease, without the slightest sign of reluctance, leaving Tong Cheng'er somewhat dumbfounded.

For a moment, she forgot about the dumplings in her own bowl: "How could you actually eat them?"

"If Cheng'er tells me to eat it, of course I'll eat it."

Tong Cheng'er found it amusing. Born into an imperial family and raised in luxury, he wasn't particularly demanding when it came to food, but his upbringing instilled in him a habit of being meticulous about what he ate. It was truly remarkable that he could eat this dumpling soup without batting an eye.

"Are you going to eat poison if I tell you to?"

"I will listen to whatever Cheng'er says. You are my wife, and you would never have any intention to harm me."

Tong Cheng'er smiled slightly: "That's not necessarily true. As the saying goes, you can't know what's in someone's heart. How would you know what I'm thinking?"

Yinzhen didn't stop eating, and said while eating, "Will Cheng'er harm me?"

Tong Cheng'er: ...

Of course she wouldn't harm him; she laughed and said, "Why would I bother harming him when I'm so bored?"

Yinzhen smiled, and Tong Cheng'er glared at him. She had originally planned to have someone prepare another bowl of dumplings, but seeing how "enjoyed" they were eating, she figured there was no need to prepare them again.

Let him have the dumpling soup.

After dinner, Yinzhen took her to digest her food. Tong Cheng'er actually wanted to lie down, but she couldn't resist Yinzhen's insistence, so he dragged her to the plum garden in the mansion.

This plum garden was planted with great care by Yinzhen, yet he didn't seem to like plum blossoms much, to the point that Tong Cheng'er felt that this plum garden was a real waste.

Tong Cheng'er has no artistic talent and can't express any emotions when looking at the plum blossoms in the garden. Perhaps it's a matter of aesthetics; Tong Cheng'er thinks the plum blossoms are a bit small and she can't appreciate their elegant charm.

After walking around for a while, I inevitably felt a bit tired.

"What, you don't like plum blossoms?"

Tong Cheng'er shook her head: "I don't dislike it, but I wouldn't say I like it that much either."

The plum blossoms didn't bother her in any way, so she couldn't say she disliked them.

She didn't know why, but she could see the plum blossoms as somewhat cute when they were drawn on paper, but she just couldn't appreciate the living flowers in the garden.

She explained the matter simply, and Yinzhen was taken aback when he heard it, as he really hadn't expected her to have such a thought.

Since they had nothing to do in the afternoon, Yinzhen gave the order, and others prepared paper and pen. The two of them spent almost the entire afternoon drawing plum blossoms in the study.

Tong Cheng'er held a pencil and drew a realistic sketch, while Yinzhen used a brush and drew a freehand ink painting.

The two spent the entire afternoon cuddling in the study, and didn't find it boring at all.

After the New Year, the days seem to fly by.

As the streets gradually filled up, Yinzhen realized it had been a long time since he had gone shopping with his wife, so he chose a time and the two of them went out together.

The New Year has just passed, and the people coming and going on the street all have smiles on their faces, creating a peaceful and harmonious scene. It is clear that they had a good New Year.

The two got off the carriage and strolled around the streets on foot.

Tong Cheng'er found women's clothing inconvenient, so she wore men's clothing and a hat. Although she couldn't withstand close scrutiny, without close inspection, she looked almost like a rich young master.

For this reason, the two could not be too intimate on the street, otherwise people would definitely talk nonsense, since the practice of male homosexuality has never ceased since ancient times.

This made Yinzhen very unhappy, but he had nowhere to vent his frustration.

I can only keep my anger bottled up inside.

He realized that ever since he got into trouble with the young mistress, he had been holding a grudge, and it was all his own doing.

Ah, what a bittersweet feeling!

The two walked down the street, and because of their refined demeanor, few people stared at them directly. No one noticed that Tong Cheng'er was actually a woman.

The trinkets and snacks from the common people were quite interesting. Tong Cheng'er bought quite a few along the way, but none of them were anything expensive. Her attendants took turns sending them back several times, so she didn't spend much money at all.

Having bought enough, Tong Cheng'er said to Yinzhen, "I'm hungry."

Upon hearing this, Yinzhen was overjoyed. He had long wanted to find a private room to go in. Although it was fun to accompany his young consort shopping, it wouldn't be good if he wasn't allowed to touch her.

"The Moon-Viewing Tower is right in front of us."

The two walked together toward Wangyue Tower, but when they were almost there, their path was blocked.

Yinzhen frowned as he looked at the road in front of him, which was completely blocked, with a circle forming on the street.

"Su Peisheng, go and see what happened."

"yes"
