Yinzhen nodded and then went inside.
When he entered, he saw the young mistress reclining on a small wooden couch, holding a book in her hand, reading intently and absorbedly. In front of the couch was a small table with tea, snacks, and seasonal fruits on it...
He saw his mother lying with her eyes closed on the bed two meters away from the young lady.
Very well, he can now confirm that the young princess didn't suffer any loss at all, and that she was able to do all this from two meters away from his mother, so it seems that his mother really did faint.
Tong Cheng'er was engrossed in reading the storybook. She was getting excited when she came across the part that revealed the murderer, just as someone next to her said, "What are you looking at? So absorbed!"
Tong Cheng'er was startled and dropped the book in her hand.
Then, looking up, he saw it was Yinzhen and breathed a sigh of relief, saying, "Why did you suddenly speak? You startled me."
Yinzhen raised an eyebrow: "You didn't even notice I came in, and you're blaming me?"
Tong Cheng'er said reproachfully, "It's your fault, it's all your fault."
Upon hearing this, Yinzhen smiled and said, "Alright, alright, it's all my fault."
As he spoke, he picked up the book that had fallen on the small couch, and then glanced at the cover; it was the Analects of Confucius.
Then he flipped through the book, and to his surprise, it was full of storybook content.
Tong Cheng'er felt a little guilty. It was fine to read stories on ordinary days, but it didn't seem appropriate to read them while she was taking care of the sick.
"Um, give me back the book, I'm not reading it anymore."
Yinzhen smiled and said, "Why aren't you reading? Since Mother is still unconscious, it's not wrong for you to read."
Tong Cheng'er smiled and said, "You don't mind?"
Yinzhen shook his head: "Of course I don't mind."
Then he looked at Consort Wuya and said quite seriously, "If Mother knew that you were still so motivated while taking care of her, she would surely be pleased."
Tong Cheng'er thought to herself that reading storybooks shouldn't be considered a sign of ambition, but then again, hers were detective storybooks, so she could learn something from them and therefore couldn't be said to lack ambition.
