Chapter Seventy

Tong Cheng'er probably understood that her family was somewhat more prominent than her second sister-in-law's, so it was normal for her to have such thoughts.

That's why I gave this reminder, to avoid unnecessary conflicts between the two of them in the future over unnecessary people, which would be unpleasant.

Upon hearing this, Shu Yu was somewhat surprised that she would say so much, and that it was all useful to her.

In fact, Tong Cheng'er's guess was not wrong. The two rather outstanding maids she saw in the courtyard were indeed specially prepared for Shu Yu by her mother.

Shu Yu was very grateful to her sister-in-law, Tong Cheng'er, for telling her all this.

"Thank you so much for telling me all this, little sister. Otherwise, I would have had a lot of trouble adjusting!"

Tong Cheng'er: "Isn't this all I should do? You're my second sister-in-law, so naturally I hope you and my second brother will live happily ever after."

Shu Yu also hoped that she and Tong Xuewen would live a harmonious and happy life together. Thinking this, she couldn't help but smile and said, "Then I will accept your kind words, little sister."

Tong Cheng'er: "My family always says I'm lucky, and I really hope so. I'm sure my second sister-in-law and second brother will live happily ever after."

As they were talking, Rulan brought in the food.

A bowl of rice and a few delicate side dishes were served, but no soup was prepared, probably to avoid inconvenience for the bride and to prevent her from soiling her red wedding dress.

Shu Yu didn't dare to eat too much; she ate a little and then stopped.

After she finished eating, Tong Cheng'er thought of the maids in the courtyard and felt quite uneasy. She decided to say a few words and said, "What I said to my second sister-in-law earlier was a bit vague. In fact, ever since our family set the rule that men over forty years old without children can take concubines, no one in the family has dared to violate this ancestral precept."

“There was once a maid who wanted to become half a mistress and tried to take advantage of her mistress when she was drunk. That maid was eventually sold off, and the result was naturally not good.”

“We can tolerate all kinds of people in our household, but we can’t tolerate those who don’t care about their master. I’ll say something that may not be useful, but if there ever comes a big-hearted servant, Second Sister-in-law, just deal with him directly, and Mother will definitely applaud.”

Shu Yu was very surprised when she heard this; she never expected that the Tong family would have such a thing.

If that's the case, then the two maids her mother prepared for her, who were there for special purposes, are probably useless now.

Just thinking about it made her incredibly happy.

Before her wedding, she was filled with joy and anticipation. However, on the eve of her wedding, her mother prepared two beautiful maids for her, saying that they would be used by her future husband.

She knew there was such a custom, but hearing it clearly made her heart sink instantly.

Tong Xuewen treated her well, and her heart was completely devoted to him. The thought of watching him enter another person's room one day, even if it hadn't happened yet, made her heart ache with bitterness.

After hearing Tong Cheng'er's words, Shu Yu felt relieved.

The Tong family's rules are truly wonderful.

"I've taken note of your advice today, thank you."

Seeing that she had taken it to heart, Tong Cheng'er was also happy: "I'm glad that my second sister-in-law doesn't think I'm being nosy."

Shu Yu: "How could that be? I know my little sister is just trying to be nice to me."

After discussing this matter, the two began to talk about other things.

Time flies, and before you know it, it's dark.

Slightly tipsy, Tong Xuewen entered the courtyard and saw Tong Cheng'er's companions there as well. He asked, "Is Princess here too?"

"Reporting to Second Master, the Princess has been here ever since Second Madam entered the bridal chamber. It was ordered by the Fujin (Prince's wife)."

Tong Xuewen was a little annoyed when he heard this. If his mother hadn't been so thoughtful, he wouldn't have thought of this.

He grunted in response and quickly walked inside.

He pushed open the door and saw the scene inside: bright red decorations, very festive. His wife was sitting in the middle of the bed, and then she showed a very beautiful smile.

Tong Cheng'er watched from the side and found it amusing. Did they think she was invisible?

So he spoke up, "Second Brother, can't you see me?"

Tong Xuewen: He really didn't have time for her.

This is rather awkward.

Tong Cheng'er noticed this too, but she didn't care. She smiled and said, "It seems that Second Brother is captivated by Second Sister-in-law. Now that Second Brother is here, I should go back. I wish Second Brother and Second Sister-in-law a long and happy marriage."

Tong Xuewen: "I'll take you home."

Tong Cheng'er quickly shook her head and refused, "No need, a moment of bliss is worth a thousand pieces of gold, I won't disturb you any longer." After saying that, she quickly ran away before Tong Xuewen could say anything.

Tong Xuewen chuckled: "He really is just a child."

Shu Yu had been nervous ever since she heard Tong Xuewen's voice, and now that Tong Cheng'er had left, she was even more nervous. Of course, there was also a bit of anticipation mixed with her nervousness.

Suddenly remembering the erotic pictures she had seen the night before, she felt a little shy again.

In a few breaths, her expression under the veil changed several times, but no one could see it because of the red veil covering her head.

Tong Xuewen waved for everyone in the room to leave before slowly walking into Shu Yu's room: "Shu Yu, I'm going to lift your red veil now."

Shu Yu shyly and softly replied, "Okay."

Tong Xuewen took the wedding scale and lifted the red veil covering Shu Yu's head.

The room was filled with red, but the only thing that could penetrate was the blush on the beautiful woman's face. Shu Yu glanced at Tong Xuewen and then lowered her eyes. That one glance was more alluring than any other shyness.

Tong Xuewen had always thought that when his classmates talked about poems describing beautiful women, the words were too exaggerated and mostly overused. But today, seeing such a beautiful woman in red, all he could think of was "Her beauty surpasses that of the past and present, and even the lotus flowers are ashamed of her jade-like face."

Thinking this, he blurted out, "Yu'er is so beautiful, there is no one more beautiful than you."

Shu Yu had never heard such blunt words before, and her face naturally turned even redder.

Seeing this, Tong Xuewen knew she was very shy, so he stopped talking about it.

He could simply see the beautiful woman and keep her in his heart.

"Yu'er, let's drink some acacia wine!"

Shu Yu nodded: "Okay."

Tong Xuewen took Shu Yu's hand, and the two walked to the table and drank the wedding wine.

The two sat at the table, gazing at each other as if trying to etch the other into their hearts. The room was quiet, with only the flickering candlelight.

After a while, Shu Yu lowered her head first, and Tong Xuewen chuckled, "It's getting late, let's get settled!"

Shu Yu thought of the pictures in the album again, her face flushed, and she whispered, "Okay."

Upon hearing her words, Tong Xuewen stood up and picked up Shu Yu.

Shu Yu gasped in surprise when she was suddenly picked up, then buried herself in Tong Xuewen's arms.

Tong Xuewen laughed out loud this time, then quickly walked to the large bed with its Thousand Craftsmanship, placed the person on the edge of the bed to sit, and sat down beside her. Then his head gradually leaned towards Shu Yu's until their lips touched.

This was the only thought in Tong Xuewen's mind.

The next day, they both slept quite soundly.

Shu Yu was also afraid of being late for her first time paying respects to her in-laws, so she specially instructed her personal maid to call her.

After the two got up and washed up, Shu Yu instructed her maid to bring gifts for her husband's family and went with Tong Xuewen to the main courtyard of Shu Mulu's family.
