Chapter Thirty-Seven: Moon-Gazing Tower

Soon after Shuwan learned that Qing'e had visited, word spread that Shuyuan's wedding date had been set, so she immediately went to Shuyuan's place.

Shuyuan couldn't stand Shuwan's annoying face, and asked coldly, "What are you doing here?"

Shuwan smiled warmly: "Sister, what are you saying? We're sisters after all, so of course I'm here to help you. Your wedding is approaching, so I imagine you have a lot on your plate. I told Mother I'd come and help you."

Shuyuan knew she was up to no good: "I don't need your help."

Shuwan said with a regretful look, "Really not necessary? The wedding is in half a month. If you can't handle it and end up marrying in a hurry, even if you're just a concubine, people will still laugh at you."

"That's none of your business."

Shuwan left with a look of "no good deed goes unpunished".

Back in the courtyard, Shuwan smiled and said to the nanny, "I didn't expect the fourth prince of the Prince Gong's mansion to be so capable, actually setting the wedding date for half a month later. It really suits my taste."

"That's right, it's because of his ability, otherwise he wouldn't have been so angry that he'd be locked up in his study!"

Shuwan's smile faded slightly as she said, "Father is worried about my sister, so I should be a thoughtful and sensible daughter. Granny, have the kitchen prepare some bird's nest porridge, and I'll take it to Father."

"Yes, Princess."

Because of Bai Bai, Tong Cheng'er wasn't so lazy anymore. Since Bai Bai didn't like staying indoors, she had to go to the garden in the mansion every day to take good care of her feline master.

Upon hearing this, Shumulu breathed a sigh of relief, then couldn't help but sigh again: "I never thought that a cat would change her lazy nature. If I had known this would happen, I should have raised ten or eight cats for her when she was little, so she could have some fun."

Tong Cheng'er was enjoying her days playing with the cat. Every day, she would ask where Bai Bai was and if there were any new books coming out.

These are the only two things that can pique her interest.

Living a leisurely and comfortable life, Tong Cheng'er felt that there was nothing better than this.

Rulan came in with a smile: "Princess, Princess Huiyu, no, Princess Huiyu is getting married soon. She sent someone to invite you to Wangyue Tower tomorrow."

Tong Cheng'er and Huiyu had been exchanging letters, though not often, but over time, they had become quite familiar with each other.

She really didn't like going out, but thinking that Huiyu would soon be marrying a foreigner in Mongolia, if she didn't go this time, she might never have the chance to go out alone again.

"Report back to Sister Huiyu and tell her that I will be at Wangyue Tower on time tomorrow."

Rulan was delighted to hear that the princess was going out. In fact, not only the princess's wife felt that it was not good for the princess to stay at home all day, but those of them who had served the princess since childhood also felt that the princess needed to go out and make friends.

"Yes, Princess."

Seeing Ru Lan's overjoyed expression, Tong Cheng'er found it amusing.

Considering that she hadn't really shopped properly, I figured I'd go shopping tomorrow.

"Princess, the carriage is ready."

"Alright, let's go!"

The carriage swayed and rattled as it departed from the gate of the Tong residence and headed towards the bustling and lively streets.

Sitting in the carriage, Tong Cheng'er could hear the continuous cries of vendors outside. Even without lifting the curtain, she could imagine that the scene outside must be bustling and prosperous.

The streets were bustling with pedestrians, and Tong Cheng'er was in a pretty good mood.

"It's rare for us to get out today, so you guys should go out and have some fun later. I don't usually like to go out, so you must be getting bored!"

Rulan said, "Princess, I don't feel bored at all staying with you."

Ru Xue also said, "It's definitely not boring. I find the days spent by the princess's side quite interesting."

While their words contained an element of flattery, they were also true. Although Tong Cheng'er was lazy, that did not negate the fact that she was an interesting mistress.

Being inactive doesn't mean being dull. Tong Cheng'er is someone who loves to chat and talk with people, and even find interesting things to do.

Ru Xue and Ru Lan lead very fulfilling lives and never feel bored.

Tong Cheng'er laughed: "Okay, you guys don't feel bored, it's me who feels bored. After we've met Sister Huiyu, you can come out with me to take a look."

Rulan and Ruxue smiled and said, "Yes, Princess."

The carriage arrived at Wangyue Tower in no time.

This Wangyue Tower is a restaurant, but its interior is elegantly decorated, and every painting casually hanging in the private rooms is a genuine masterpiece.

The chefs there are said to have come from the palace, and their dishes are absolutely delicious. Moreover, they not only focus on the taste but also on health and wellness.

Because of its delicious food and the prestige of entertaining guests, Wangyuelou became incredibly popular shortly after it opened. At that time, some competitors tried to sabotage it, but in the end, it was always the ones who tried to sabotage it who suffered the consequences. People then realized that Wangyuelou had a mysterious background and was not to be trifled with.

Therefore, Wangyuelou replaced Xunweilou as the most popular restaurant in the capital.

As soon as Tong Cheng'er stepped into the restaurant, she thought the place was quite nicely decorated. Having lived in the Qing Dynasty for so many years, Tong Cheng'er used to think everything looked pretty much the same, but now she could distinguish between good and bad things.

The restaurant is decorated in a truly elegant and exquisite way; every detail shows meticulous attention to detail.

"This place is quite nice."

Although Rulan and Ruxue had never been here before, they knew they were coming today, so they naturally did some research on the Wangyue Tower.

Ru Xue said, "This Wangyuelou restaurant only opened last year. It is very popular because of its elegance and the health benefits of its dishes. I heard that the chefs here come from the palace. I don't know if that's true."

When Tong Cheng'er heard that the chef came from the imperial palace, she suddenly remembered an article she had once read online.
