Chapter 19-019 "Do you have plans tonight?"
The next day, the snow continued.
Song Chi braved the heavy snow and flew to Qingxue Palace. When he entered the Guihai class, he found that something was strange about today.
She couldn't quite put her finger on what was wrong, but she felt that Ye Qingyu's gaze towards her was distant and lacked his usual arrogance.
But she didn't care. The problem now is that the morning classes were quite intensive, but the afternoon classes ended abruptly. The sect was very humane and gave the disciples a half-day off on the Lantern Festival to relax.
Master Mo Shubai explained this matter as soon as he entered the classroom, and the disciples cheered a little. After all, they had been cultivating hard for days, and many couples had made plans to go down the mountain to visit the lantern festival. If they could have an extra afternoon for a romantic date, there would be nothing better.
So how exactly do I get to the plum grove west of the academy to bump into Mo Feiyun?
This passage in the book describes how, on the morning of the Lantern Festival, amidst heavy snowfall, the original owner found Mo Feiyun, who was searching for plum blossoms in the snow, and mustered the courage to extend a once-in-a-lifetime important invitation.
How did they manage to have classes this morning? Did they change the plot here?
Song Chi, who is currently hoping to take advantage of the secret realm's opportunities, is the one least willing to see any changes to the plot.
Therefore, he glanced at Meilin several times with great concern, and had no interest in listening to Mo Shubai's lecture.
Because looking out the window inevitably meant seeing Mo Feiyun, their eyes met every time. However, the young man still had that handsome, refined look, with red lips and white teeth, but today his eyes didn't seem as cold as usual.
But he remained completely calm and showed no reaction to her gaze.
Song Chi couldn't help but chuckle inwardly. She figured that the so-called "chance encounter" of searching for plum blossoms in the snow would probably fail. After all, she wasn't the original owner of this body.
The thought of this being her first date with a man in both her lives, and the impending failure, gave her a strange, wry smile.
That should be considered a pretty good life experience.
Just thinking about this outcome made Song Chi even more eager to ask Mo Feiyun out. How would she feel if she was rejected? If she felt a little sad, that would be a good thing. She would immediately run to a corner of the sect and play those few tunes a hundred times.
Before turning around, she smiled at Mo Feiyun, whose expression remained calm, his starry eyes as dark as ink.
This outcome was indeed predictable. Song Chi thought to himself as he turned back.
For some reason, Ye Qingyu suddenly unleashed a murderous aura at her, an aura that sent chills down her spine. She would never believe it wasn't intentional.
I don't know what's wrong with this kid. Jiang Linyue and Su Qiwu in the front row also turned slightly to look over, and if she wasn't mistaken, their gazes actually seemed a little hurt. Perhaps... it was just her imagination.
Not only that, but when Mo Shubai, the Immortal Master, met her gaze, he quickly slipped away from the podium.
Song Chi felt that his instincts when he entered the classroom today were correct. He wondered what had gotten into this group of people today.
Qi Zhenmo, for some unknown reason, suddenly rested his head on his arm and laughed silently until he trembled.
Song Chi shrugged speechlessly, wondering what was wrong with him.
Soon, the hour-long class was over. There was a 15-minute break in the middle.
Song Chi noticed that Mo Feiyun was still sitting in his seat. She figured that the plot in the book probably took place after the break between the next classes, when Mo Feiyun skipped lunch and went off to elegantly enjoy the snow and plum blossoms.
So they waited until then. The book was still etched in her mind, the words "morning" clearly written on it. "Won't the plot be disrupted by her little wings?" Song Chi frowned.
To everyone's surprise, Mo Shubai said something at the beginning of the second class.
"Today it snows heavily, the plum blossoms are in bloom, and it's a festive day. This lesson will not include any combat drills. You can go to the plum grove to enjoy the snow and feel the chilling, metallic energy emanating from heaven and earth. This may be beneficial to your understanding of musical principles."
Upon hearing this, the disciples couldn't help but laugh. They all went out.
Of course, some of the Kings of the Scrolls went directly to the training room to continue practicing combat techniques.
At this moment, Song Chi felt that this was truly a godsend opportunity, and the plot was still developing steadily, not being swayed by her wings, which was a good thing.
She immediately left the classroom. She needed to enjoy the scenery of plum blossoms in the snow for a while, and then seize the opportunity for a chance encounter. Following Mo Feiyun at this moment would inevitably make her seem like a pervert, which was not appropriate.
Mo Shubai only saw Song Chi leave. Suddenly, the boys in the classroom became shy again.
Su Yu, however, pursed his thin lips and was the first to leave with his hands behind his back. Next to him was Ji Minghuang, who clutched her fan, suppressing a laugh as she went out. These two were probably there to watch the fun; their eyes couldn't hide their amusement.
Even the innocent Cui Xue Ruo noticed something this time. She glanced at herself, smiled, covered her lips, and gracefully left.
Next, Ye Qingyu and the other two stared at Mo Feiyun with dark eyes.
The young man completely ignored the three men's hostility. At this moment, a faint blush had crept onto his clear, jade-like face, and although his eyes were cold, a hint of tenderness lurked within them.
Mo Shubai knew that Song Chi had turned back to look at Meilin three times and then stole a glance at Mo Feiyun.
Throughout the next class, the kid's finger would occasionally peek out a corner of an invitation, only to quickly retract it. The invitation bore the unique ink plum blossom mark of the Mo family, making it quite formal.
However, Mo Shubai suspected that Song Chi was too shy to be sure of his feelings. Therefore, he suspected that if he didn't give him a push, the invitation would stay in the hands of that kid forever.
Mo Shubai never expected that the boy Song Chi chose would be Mo Feiyun.
He had initially thought it would be Ye Qingyu. This kid had visited Song Chi's hometown, Baihuaxi, a few years ago and lived next door to Song Chi; he knew a little about him. He had also paid some attention to the secret realm of Baihuaxi back then.
This pair could barely be considered childhood sweethearts. Moreover, Song Chi and Ye Qingyu clearly exchanged more glances, though mostly it was her sidelong glances. If Ye Qingyu weren't from a wealthy family, someone she couldn't afford to offend, those glances wouldn't just be a little indifferent; they would probably be disdainful eye rolls.
In short, this pair has a bit of a love-hate relationship feel to them. That's his opinion.
But this was clearly a huge mistake. Unexpectedly, Song Chi actually fell for this cold and aloof young man from the Mo family.
As for his cousin Jiang Linyue, Mo Shubai knew from the beginning that the boy would fail. The same was true for the Su family boy, because Song Chi sized them up as if they were complete strangers.
That was incredibly cold and ruthless.
Soon, as if he had made up his mind, Mo Feiyun stood up and disappeared in an instant.
Then Ye Qingyu gave a sinister laugh and snorted coldly before disappearing into the plum grove.
Then Jiang Linyue tapped her palm with her fan, while Su Qiwu walked out without saying a word. Mo Shubai knew that these two were not to be trifled with either.
None of these talented disciples from prominent families are simple.
Mo Shubai thought to himself that he had to stop them. Otherwise, those two probably wouldn't be able to get together, and these people would have ruined it.
Of course, his main purpose was simply to enjoy the plum blossoms in the snow. With the plum blossoms in full bloom for ten miles around Qingxue Palace, how could he not cherish them?
Song Chi strolled around the plum grove for a while, wondering when Mo Feiyun would come and how she could naturally approach him without seeming deliberate.
Who knew that, a short while later, just around a bend in the plum grove, on a path where the snow was deep, the figure in green was seen pushing aside a plum branch to reveal himself.
The man with the jade crown and brocade belt, and the cold, stern face, was none other than Mo Feiyun.
It's quite a coincidence. This place is rather remote, and the plum trees in front are still mostly buds, unlike the plum blossoms that were previously in full bloom and exceptionally beautiful.
Therefore, even when the disciples came here, they would only take a quick look and then turn away.
With no onlookers, Song Chi felt a slight sense of relief. Then she strolled over slowly. Mo Feiyun was brushing the snowflakes off his clothes. Just as she approached, he finished brushing off the snow and looked up.
"What a coincidence," Song Chi said.
Mo Feiyun gave a soft "hmm" and nodded. He then walked forward at a leisurely pace. When he encountered a low plum branch blocking his path, he would politely lift the branch to let her pass first before following behind.
The two walked in silence for a while, mainly because it was Song Chi's first time making an appointment with someone. He was still organizing his words.
However, soon the winding path ahead turned, revealing a small bridge hidden among plum trees, and the soft sound of flowing water could be heard.
The snowflakes, which had stopped falling, suddenly began to fall again from the sky, whipped up by the cold wind.
Song Chi was speechless. Wasn't this the very place in the book where the original owner had invited Mo Feiyun?
"We can't miss the plot right now." Song Chi glanced sideways at Mo Feiyun. This kid was quite perceptive; his dark eyes immediately looked down and caught her gaze.
Song Chi clenched his fist at the corner of his lips, silently coughed in his heart, and then lowered his hand.
Happy Lantern Festival today!
"Hmm." Mo Feiyun glanced at her, his gaze quickly moving around the surrounding plum branches before settling on her again, as if it were black jade.
"Senior Brother Mo, do you have any appointments with anyone?"
Mo Feiyun glanced at her, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly on his white collar, then shook his head. "No." He looked at her again, his lips moved, but he ultimately kept them closed.
“Well…” Song Chi’s left index finger lightly brushed against the tip of his nose, then he glanced up at Mo Feiyun with a smile, “I didn’t make any appointments with anyone. If it’s convenient for you, Senior Brother Mo, how about we go down the mountain to see the lanterns together tonight?”
After saying this, the original owner blushed deeply and lowered her head in extreme nervousness.
Song Chi didn't feel particularly shy. She glanced at Mo Feiyun, expecting a rejection. After all, this guy was already in love with Cui Xue Ruo, and it was a deep, unrequited love.
In the past two years, she has been too focused on her career and hasn't paid much attention to the romances of these young men. Therefore, she doesn't know how much Mo Feiyun has fallen in love with the female lead at this point.
I think I like it overall. The plot hasn't changed at all!
The only thing that changed was that she had never had any romantic luck in either of her lives. She really couldn't recall any kind of affection that Mo Feiyun could feel for her.
Mo Feiyun was even more shy than expected. After hearing her words, his fair cheeks quickly flushed a light red amidst the falling snowflakes. Against his handsome face with its red lips and white teeth, he was even more beautiful than the red plum blossoms covered in snow.
Then the corner of his mouth seemed to curl slightly, and he glanced at her quickly. He then lowered his eyes and responded with a soft "yes."
"Mmm." This sound was exceptionally deep and magnetic.
He quickly added, "At the second quarter of the hour of You (5:45 PM), I will be waiting for you at the mountain gate."
Before she could speak, he vanished in a flash. Soon, the trembling figure of Mei Zhi could be seen from a distance; he had probably flown by invisibly, brushing against the branches.
