Rivals are enemies in the same trade. The two middle-aged women, who were promoting their daughters, started fighting at the drop of a hat, tearing at each other's hair. The area outside the gathering place instantly became noisy.
The people outside the settlement were all poor and powerless ordinary people. For them, even if they didn't die at the hands of the alien race, life in this apocalypse was no different from hell.
Their only way to survive is to gain the approval of an awakened individual who has successfully transitioned to a combat profession and become their slave or mistress.
Only in this way can they possibly cross the high wall in front of them and enter the settlement to live a peaceful life.
That's why they were so excited when they saw Qiao Suinian come out.
Qiao Suiqian had seen too many such scenes in his previous life and was already somewhat numb to them. His cold face was expressionless, and he simply drew the Tang sword from behind him with a clang.
The roughly one-meter-long blade gleamed coldly in the sunlight, instantly silencing the previously noisy scene that resembled a bustling market.
Everyone stared in horror at the young man in black before them.
"Get out of the way."
Qiao Suinian coldly uttered two words, chilling to the bone.
None of these people dared to bother Qiao Suinian anymore. They didn't even dare to breathe loudly and fearfully made way for a path to the outside world.
Qiao Suinian strode out and quickly left the place.
Only then did those people dare to whisper among themselves.
"Pah! So what if he's just a mere job changer? If you don't want to take him, then don't. Who are you trying to impress with your arrogant attitude? And now he's gone alone. I hope he dies in the mouth of some alien monster!" The man who had just said he wanted to be Qiao Suinian's slave cursed under his breath, his tone venomous.
"That's right, he doesn't even want my daughter, he's blind! If this were before the apocalypse, even an 880,000 yuan dowry wouldn't be enough for me to marry my daughter to him!" The middle-aged woman also cursed.
"Look at him, he's probably gay, huh! I hope he dies out there later!"
The two middle-aged women who were just pulling each other's hair instantly united and cursed Qiao Suinian with the most vicious language.
But they only dared to speak in low voices; none of them dared to make a loud noise, for fear that Qiao Suinian would hear them.
Soon, when they saw a few people emerge from the gathering place, the group immediately swarmed around them, begging and pleading for a chance to survive.
All living beings are like this.
......
"Three ruminants and two mutated zombies."
Qiao Suinian, hiding in a three-story villa, narrowed his eyes and looked at the five alien monsters wandering the street not far away.
Killing these five creatures would provide enough experience points to level him up to level 12.
However, if you were to fight these five things head-on, not only would you be easily infected with the zombie virus if your skin was scratched by the zombies, but if you made too much noise, it would also attract other alien races on the street.
As a seasoned lone wolf, Qiao Suinian knew very well how miserable the outcome would be if he were besieged by a large group of alien races.
No matter how strong he is, he is still just a human being, and there will be times when his strength is exhausted. And that is when he will be devoured by the alien races.
"Woof woof woof!"
Just then, a dog barking suddenly rang out, drawing Qiao Suinian's attention.
On the sixth floor of another residential building not far away, a small brown teddy bear started barking wildly at one of the mutated zombies closest to it.
The sound of barking echoed through the street.
"My dear son, what's wrong, my dear son?" A plump woman with dyed blonde curly hair quickly picked up the Teddy dog; she was clearly the Teddy's owner.
After being picked up, the teddy bear seemed to receive some kind of encouragement and became even more energetic, baring its teeth and barking wildly at the mutated zombie, looking extremely fierce.
"Shut your damn dog!" There were obviously other survivors in the apartment building. They quickly whispered a reprimand to the blonde woman, afraid of attracting the attention of the alien race.
But the blonde woman immediately started cursing at the man.
"Let him bark! You're a grown man, why are you arguing with a dog? What's the big deal if he barks a couple of times? This building is so tall, what are you going to do with that guy jumping up here?"
"Damn it, you're safe on the sixth floor, but I'm on the fourth! Your damn dog will get me killed!" The survivor below yelled angrily.
The blonde woman remained unmoved and even glared at the person below.
"So what if you die? What does it have to do with me? Besides, it's not a dead dog, it's my precious son! Look how much braver my son is than you!"
"You, a grown man, didn't dare utter a single word in front of those zombies, but my precious son dared to warn them not to come near for my sake!"
After saying that, the blonde woman gave the still-barking Teddy dog a loving look.
At that moment, the mutated zombie also noticed the commotion on the sixth floor. It raised its head, its eyes cloudy, empty, and lifeless.
Its body was covered with bulging muscles, making it look very strong, and the dried blood had stained its muscles a dark red.
Seeing the teddy bear barking at it, the mutated zombie took a few steps back, then suddenly started running as fast as a living person. Then it leaped and jumped directly onto the balcony of the sixth floor of the residential building!
"Wow! Was this guy a sports student who had some serious training in his past life? He jumped that high!"
