At Pang Hongxin's command, his elite troops immediately took action.
Qiao Suinian and Ye Difeng also joined the fight, not just watching the show.
Their side had almost twice the number of this group, and they naturally won the battle without any major incident, with all 12 people tied up like big dumplings.
Their eyes were filled with resentment and fear. Some cursed loudly, while others knelt down and begged for mercy, but Pang Hongxin remained unmoved.
In the apocalypse, human life is worthless; only your own life is valuable.
"Brother Junfeng, what should we do next?" Pang Hongxin asked Qiao Suinian.
"Put them on and go. When the man-eating ants appear, cut the artery of one of them to release the blood, then throw him out. The smell of blood will make the man-eating ants target him first."
Qiao Suinian calmly recounted that this was the best method summarized after countless people died at the hands of man-eating ants in the previous life.
"Okay! Then I'll leave this section of the road to you."
Pang Hongxin nodded, and when he looked at the noisy crowd behind him, a fierce glint flashed in his eyes.
"Gag those people!"
After silencing those people, Pang Hongxin and his group once again entered the territory of the man-eating ants.
As expected, a large swarm of dark shadows immediately attacked them again; it was a dense mass of man-eating ants.
"Drain them, throw one out! Full speed ahead, don't stop!" Qiao Suinian shouted in a low voice.
One of Pang Hongxin's elite men quickly did as he was told, throwing out a bloodied man with his carotid artery severed, his eyes filled with terror.
The strong smell of blood immediately made it the primary target of the man-eating ants, and countless ants crawled onto the blood-covered man's body, engulfing him.
A dozen seconds later, the man had been completely devoured by the man-eating ants, leaving only a skeleton.
"Throw the second one into the middle of the ant colony, don't let them get close, keep pushing forward."
As soon as Qiao Suinian finished speaking, another blood-covered figure drew a graceful parabola and fell into the swarm of man-eating ants, which immediately surrounded it.
The man-eating ants were probably wondering why, in the past, they had to lose several brothers to successfully hunt, but today the prey just fell from the sky.
The group repeated this action, charging forward with their heads down until they broke out of the man-eating ants' territory. They didn't dare to stop, but continued to charge forward for a long distance before daring to stop.
The fear instilled by the man-eating ants was too great; no one wanted to be surrounded by such terrifying creatures.
Those 12 people were all fed into the swarm of man-eating ants.
"We definitely can't take this route down the mountain. Those man-eating ants are too terrifying. We have to go down from the other side of Horseshoe Mountain!" Pang Hong said with lingering fear.
Qiao Suinian didn't say anything, she just nodded.
In reality, if it were up to him to choose, he would most likely still take the path where there is a swarm of man-eating ants. Known dangers are always more reassuring than unknown dangers.
After crossing the swarm of man-eating ants, they arrived deep in Horseshoe Mountain. The area was shrouded in mist and was a primeval forest. As far as the eye could see, there were towering trees whose names they did not know, each of which was seven or eight meters tall.
Amidst the trees, a rugged and winding mountain path meanders upwards, clearly carved out by human hands.
The path is crisscrossed with ravines, and caves can be seen from time to time, some of which gush with clear spring water.
However, after being frightened by the aquatic insects, no one dared to drink from the mountain spring on Horseshoe Mountain anymore.
After a short rest and a bite to eat, the group set off again, with Qiao Suinian still at the back of the group, traversing through the dense fog-shrouded forest.
Enveloped in thick fog, visibility was extremely low. Qiao Suinian, who was walking at the very back, could not see Pang Hongxin in front of him at all, but could only see figures moving around in the fog.
At that moment, Pang Hongxin's voice came from ahead.
"Brothers, this road leads straight to Tianyun Temple. As long as we follow this road to the end, we will see the temple on the mountaintop! Let's be careful and try to get to Tianyun Temple together!" Pang Hongxin encouraged everyone at the right time.
Tianyun Temple was first built several hundred years ago and has withstood a century of trials and tribulations.
Before the end of the world, many devout men and women would climb Mount Mati to worship at Tianyun Temple, either seeking marriage or wealth.
It is said that Tianyun Temple is extremely efficacious, almost always granting wishes, so pilgrims come and go in an endless stream.
A thick fog enveloped the mountain path, with Anya and Qiao Suinian walking at the very back of the group.
But as she walked, Qiao Suinian suddenly stopped.
"What's wrong, Junfeng? Are you feeling unwell?" Anya turned around, somewhat puzzled.
"Didn't you notice?" Qiao Suinian said coldly.
"Discovered? What happened?" Anya was a little stunned.
"Everyone else has disappeared."
As soon as Qiao Suinian finished speaking, Anya instantly felt a strong chill, making the hairs on her body stand on end.
She peered into the fog for a while and, sure enough, there was no one there. They had gotten separated from Pang Hongxin and the others!
"What...what happened? I was just following closely behind Ah Shen, how could he have disappeared in the blink of an eye!" Anya's eyes flashed with fear.
"It didn't just disappear in the blink of an eye; there's something nearby."
Qiao Suinian gripped the Haoye Dragon Staff on his back. What kind of monster liked to hide in the mist?
A tomb guardian statue, a goblin, or perhaps a man-eating vine?
Just as Qiao Suinian was pondering, there was a sudden movement in the fog.
