Inside the endless steel walls, the Ye family's lush and verdant courtyard resembled a light ink landscape painting, appearing so unreal in this apocalyptic world, a picture of tranquility and peace.
Bamboo stalks dot the front and back of the houses, and artificial hills are paired with artificial ponds. The pond water sparkles in the bright sunlight, and precious koi carp swim around in it.
The koi carp were extremely plump, and they swam leisurely in the pond, swaying their large tails.
Suddenly, as if sensing something, the koi fish thrashed about in the pond in terror, creating ripples and splashes.
Unfortunately, the four guards watching over the bluestone slabs not far away did not notice anything unusual about the koi.
"Why did we suddenly hear a series of sharp screams, and then it stopped? It's been so quiet for a while now. Could something have happened down there? Should we go down and check it out?" one of the guards asked, scratching his head.
An old guard squatting nearby, hearing this, glanced at him with disdain.
"Are you new here or looking for trouble? The person down there is Lord Li Ba. If you have the guts, go down and see for yourself."
The old guard still remembers the horrific and bloody scene in the laboratory below, which was even more terrifying than a slaughterhouse.
After he came out from underneath, he vomited violently for a long time, almost bringing up stomach acid and bile.
From then on, he made up his mind that unless ordered by his superiors, he would never enter Li Ba's laboratory again, no matter what.
Upon hearing this, the new guard immediately shut up.
But then, his ears twitched slightly, as if he had heard something.
He couldn't help but lie down, tilting his head to listen to the ground. Upon hearing this, his face instantly turned pale.
"Such a dense sound of footsteps! It sounds like hundreds of people are running wildly!"
Upon hearing this, the old guard became so angry that he threw the cigarette butt in his hand at him.

But before he could make a move, a loud bang startled the old guard, who froze on the spot.
The bluestone brick that covered the laboratory passage, weighing over a hundred pounds, actually flew directly into the sky!
Immediately afterwards, countless half-human, half-alien monsters poured out of the passage!
The first person to rush out of the passage was a beautiful woman, naked from the waist up, but her upper body only had a terrifying, vertical mouth.
"Hehe...eat...eat..."
The woman grinned foolishly and lunged at the equally terrified new guard. Then, her large, fanged mouth opened and closed, and the guard's lower half of his body vanished instantly.
"ah!!!"
The intense pain instantly brought him to his senses. He let out a heart-wrenching scream and desperately scrambled through the mud with his bare hands toward the old guard.
"Help me! Help me!"
The old guard finally realized what was happening. Without any hesitation, he kicked half of the new guard's body towards the entrance of the passage, then turned and ran away.
"Wait here, I'll get someone to rescue you right away!"
Under the new guard's resentful and desperate gaze, the old guard simply fled.
He was then devoured by the woman.
At the same time, more and more monsters poured out of the passage, including some unmodified alien races. This sudden change caught the Ye family completely off guard.
No one could have imagined that such a terrifying force would suddenly appear in the heart of the Ye family's territory.
"Damn it! What happened? The city walls are so high, how did these guys get in?"
"What are those guys guarding the city walls doing? So many monsters have come in, don't they notice at all?"
"Someone has checked, and the outer city walls are completely undamaged. It seems these monsters appeared out of nowhere inside the Ye family compound!"
"Appeared out of thin air? How is that possible!"

The guards rushed to the front of the Ye family courtyard, forming a wall of flesh and blood with their own lives to stop the monsters.
The reason is simple: the inner courtyard of the Ye family compound is inhabited by the direct descendants of the Ye family.
The outer courtyard of the Ye family compound was where the parents, wives, children, and other relatives of these elite guards of the Ye family lived.
On the surface, the Ye family gave preferential treatment to the families of these elites, allowing them to live in the Ye family compound. In reality, they used them as their last line of defense.
As long as these guards are not all killed, the direct descendants of the Ye family will never be harmed.
