Chapter 21 Only I Can Save Myself

"Great God, if you truly exist, please save us!"

Inside the auditorium, a girl wearing glasses had tears streaming down her face.

The sudden apocalypse took the lives of too many people she knew.

In despair, she could only pray that the gods of mythology would descend to earth and save them.

Just then, a creaking sound rang out, and the girl turned her head in confusion.

Could it be that the god she prayed to had truly answered her prayers?

But upon seeing it, she was immediately terrified!

"ah!!!"

She screamed in terror as she saw the escape tunnel door being pulled open by someone, and then several hideous zombies rushed in through the tunnel!

The zombie had pockmarked gray skin, sparse hair, and a body covered in blood. There was even a piece of meat stuck between its teeth.

Even from a great distance, she could faintly smell the stench of decay emanating from the zombies.

The scream also drew the attention of others in the auditorium.

"Damn it! What's going on? Isn't the emergency exit door locked from the inside? Which motherless bastard opened it?!"

"So many zombies have come in! Help! What do we do now?"

"Mom! Help me! I don't want to become a zombie! It's disgusting!"

The once quiet auditorium instantly became boiling over, as if a bowl of water had been poured into hot oil.

The bustling crowd jostled each other to escape, and many who fell to the ground could never get up again.

Some girls, unable to push the boys because they were too weak, started swearing.

"Have you guys no shame? In the face of disaster, girls and children should go first! This is for the continuation of civilization, don't you understand?! You're so shameless!"

However, her remarks were quickly refuted.

"For the continuation of civilization? Children still need to learn, and young adults have stronger survival abilities and physical strength. According to you, for the continuation of civilization, it is most reasonable for us to go first!"

The sounds of arguing, shouting, crying, and footsteps.

A jumble of noises filled the empty auditorium, creating a symphony of doomsday.

"Alright! Calm down! Boys with weapons, come with me! What are we afraid of? There are so many of us, why would we be afraid of a few dozen zombies?"

A tall, burly man carrying a shot put swam upstream and overcame the crowd.

He swung the shot put with all his might, sending it arcing through the air in a graceful parabola before slamming it into the head of a zombie, denting half of its skull.

"Well done!"

The strong man's action undoubtedly boosted everyone's morale.

It seems these zombies aren't insurmountable. As long as our people are careful, we might be able to handle them!

Just as everyone was getting excited, the zombie, whose head was half smashed and dented, suddenly picked up and pounced on the nearest boy.

The boy was so frightened that he tried to back away, but there was a crowd behind him, and he had nowhere to retreat.

In desperation, he kicked out with all his might, sending the zombie flying, but the zombie's claws left three bloody marks on his calf.

The zombie virus immediately infected him, and the originally bright red flesh at the wound site began to turn black.

"No, save me! Please save me, I don't want to become a zombie!"

The boy started wailing and begging, but the people around him looked terrified and began to move away from him.

"Weiwei, didn't you say you wanted to be with me for life?"

"Qiqiang, didn't you say we were brothers for life?"

"Why? Why won't you save me!"

Driven by extreme fear, the boy began to become hysterical. Then, his pupils turned black and his skin began to turn ashen gray.

One second they are living, breathing people, the next they turn into zombies.

In that instant, the fear in everyone's hearts reached its peak.

Compared to being slowly devoured inch by inch by monsters like the Centipede Demon or the Hunter Spider, the feeling of being infected and turned into a zombie monster is far more terrifying.

The boy who had turned into a zombie let out a silent roar and staggered towards the crowd with a ferocious expression.

Everyone was terrified and at a loss. The girl who wore glasses at the beginning was so frightened by the crowd that she fell to the ground, and her glasses flew off.

When she picked up her glasses and put them back on, her vision became clear, and then she saw a twisted and hideous zombie face right in front of her.

She was stunned with fear; an immense terror gripped her heart like an invisible hand, making it hard for her to breathe.

"God...why don't you save us?" The girl was utterly desperate.

Just when she thought she was going to die, a large black stick suddenly swung out.

With a crisp bang, the zombie's head was knocked off, the black club tracing a graceful arc in the girl's pupils.

"It's better to believe in yourself than in some so-called god. Only you can save yourself from dire straits a thousand times over."

A calm voice rang out, and then the girl saw a slender figure walk past her and stand in front of her.

At that moment, she seemed to see a real god, a god who could save her.

Qiao Suinian, carrying the useless big stick, frowned as he looked at the zombies in front of him. Liu Luobin was even more shameless than he had imagined, actually doing something like attracting zombies.
