In this life-or-death situation, Dong Luo didn't have much time to think. He quickly shot an arrow at the Bone Crusher and then grabbed the ghost infant.
The arrow struck the Bonebreaker precisely, but it only enraged him, causing the Bonebreaker to charge even more frantically.
Dong Luo was terrified; his awakened profession was archer, and speed was not his forte.
At this moment, Dong Luo could only carry the ghost baby and run for his life, wishing his parents had given him two more legs.

The Bonebreaker opened its blood-red maw and bit down hard. Because its shoulders were too wide, only its head could fit inside, but it still managed to bite off a piece of bloody flesh from Dong Luo's calf.
"Ah!!" Dong Luo screamed and scrambled into the narrow alley.
The man who broke bones bumped into the narrow alleyway twice more, and only left dejectedly after realizing he couldn't squeeze in.
"Dong Luo, did you crush the child?" Ding Jieying quickly pulled the ghost baby out from under Dong Luo.
The ghost baby looked at her and revealed a greedy smile, a sign that it was about to start eating. Thanks to Wenwen's treatment, the ghost baby's injuries had almost completely healed.
"Damn it, what time is it? You still care about a dead kid? If it weren't for him, that Bonebreaker wouldn't have been chasing me! What bad luck!"
Dong Luo couldn't help but curse angrily. The piece of flesh missing from his calf was causing him so much pain that his forehead was covered in cold sweat. Wenwen quickly stepped forward to stop the bleeding and treat Dong Luo's injury.
But Ding Jieying immediately became unhappy upon hearing this.
"And you call yourself a grown man! Why are you arguing with a child? He's just a child, what does he know? You act like you're going to die over a tiny injury, are you even a man?"
"Besides, this is clearly a problem caused by your lack of strength. If you were strong enough to shoot down that Bonebreaker, would we need to run away like stray dogs?"
Ding Jieying shifted all the blame onto Dong Luo in just a few words.
"you!!!"
Dong Luo was furious. He felt he must have been blind to have fallen for Ding Jieying. Although she was beautiful, her personality was truly unappealing.
"What do you mean, 'you'? Am I wrong? You actually want to push all the blame onto a child? Dong Luo, you're really something!" Ding Jieying fired off a barrage of words, leaving Dong Luo speechless.
Seeing that Dong Luo didn't speak again, Ding Jieying raised her head in satisfaction.
"Don't be afraid, big sister will definitely protect you."
Looking at the smiling ghost baby, Ding Jieying grew to like it more and more. Although the baby was a bit ugly, it was actually quite cute after looking at it for a while. She couldn't help but reach out to touch the ghost baby's wrinkled head.
Suddenly, the ghost baby opened its mouth and bit her fair and smooth wrist with a mouthful of fine teeth.
Glug! Glug!
Before Ding Jieying could even react to what was happening, the ghost baby had already begun to drink her blood in large gulps.

Dong Luo was so frightened that the pain in his leg wound disappeared, and he jumped up suddenly. Only then did he and Ding Jieying realize what was happening and began to check the information box of the ghost baby.

The ghost baby licked its lips, looking at Ding Jieying and Dong Luo with lingering desire.

"How can you blame me for this? How would I know that this baby is actually an Abyss Ghost Baby? You didn't even realize it yourself!" Ding Jieying immediately retorted.
"Alright, enough talk, let's figure out a way to deal with this ghost baby!" Dong Luo's back was already soaked with cold sweat. This ghost baby was so agile, they definitely wouldn't be able to escape if it tried to run away.
