Chapter 70 The Poor Woman in the Building

"Damn it, what kind of monster is that skeleton? It ruined my plans, damn it! I'm going to tear its skeleton apart when I get the chance!"

Feeling the burning pain in his back, Hu Gaofei couldn't help but curse angrily.

"Go back and recover first, we'll talk about the rest later!" Lin Tu's face was also very pale, and he had several sword wounds on his body.

The two sped along on their off-road motorcycles until they arrived at the foot of a building.

The two men at the entrance of the building clearly recognized them and greeted them warmly.

"What happened? Why did you two come back empty-handed today?"

Upon hearing this, Hu Gaofei shook his blond hair.

"Don't even mention it! Where's that woman Dong Qi? Get her out here and treat our wounds! Damn it, we've run into a ghost in broad daylight!"

Hu Gaofei cursed his bad luck, then waddled over with his fat body and followed Lin into the building, grumbling and cursing.

Completely unaware, several dark figures had already followed them and were lying in ambush not far away.

"It seems this place is the hideout of that gang of thugs," Qiao Suinian said expressionlessly.

"Let's go, charge in!" Jiang Ping couldn't help but say coldly.

"No rush. We'll trap you like a turtle in a jar, then close the door and beat the dog. The angrier you are, the calmer you need to be, otherwise things can easily go wrong. Wait for me here."

Qiao Suinian donned a black robe and appeared like a ghost, quickly circling the entire building before returning to Feng Zhizhao and the others.

“This building only has two entrances and exits, a main entrance and a back escape route. We will go in through the main entrance and let them escape through the escape route.”

After hearing Qiao Suinian's words, Feng Zhizhao was somewhat puzzled.

"Little Nianzi, why don't we just split into two groups, with one group blocking the escape route? Wouldn't that be simpler? And it would guarantee that we wipe out all these scumbags!"

Qiao Suinian smiled and glanced at him.

"That's true, but the people in this building aren't lambs to the slaughter, they're a bunch of vicious thugs. Guess what they'll do if they're cornered?"

“They’ll go all out and fight us to the death,” Jiang Ping said from the side.

Qiao Suinian nodded upon hearing this and began to explain.

"As Sun Tzu's Art of War says, when besieging an enemy, leave an opening. When victory is assured, we must leave the enemy a way to escape."

"The logic is simple: if there is a way out, the enemy will not resist to the bitter end, which will easily wear down the enemy's will and prevent them from resorting to desperate measures, thus avoiding casualties on our side."

"Of course, we could easily set up an ambush on their escape route... Han Xin used the same tactic against Xiang Yu, the Hegemon-King of Western Chu, back then. Using this method on these thugs would be a waste of their talents."

After listening to Qiao Suinian's explanation, Feng Zhizhao looked as if he had suddenly realized something.

They then followed Qiao Suinian's instructions, and Feng Zhizhao got up and walked directly toward the entrance of the building where the thugs were.

Who are you?

The two gatekeepers at the entrance immediately drew their weapons when they saw the menacing Feng Zhizhao approaching.

"Your father!"

Having been holding back his anger for a long time, Feng Zhizhao pulled out a large axe and swung it down on one of the men's heads with thunderous force.

The man hurriedly pulled out a watermelon knife to try and defend himself, but although he managed to block the axe, the lightning power emanating from Feng Zhizhao made him feel numb all over, and he couldn't muster any strength at all.

Then Feng Zhizhao swung his axe again, splitting the man in two like chopping wood.

The fact that Hu Gaofei could be so cruel to the families of martyrs shows that these scumbags don't deserve to live in this world.

Warm, sticky, bright red liquid slid down Feng Zhizhao's cheek. Feng Zhizhao touched his face, somewhat bewildered.

Although this is the end times, so far, his axe has only killed alien races, and has never killed a human.

Seeing his companion killed by Feng Zhizhao, another thug did not retreat but advanced, grabbing a knife and trying to ambush Feng Zhizhao.

However, Jiang Ping would not give him the chance. With her hands wreathed in crimson flames, Jiang Ping accurately grabbed the thug's wrist.

The scorching heat was so painful that the thug could barely hold onto his knife. Just as he was about to scream, Han Yueling froze his mouth with ice crystals.

Sharp ice crystals kept oozing from his mouth, and soon the thug also lost his vital signs.

"Let's go, it's not over yet."

Qiao Suinian took the lead and walked into the building.

As soon as he entered the building, he smelled an extremely strong stench of blood, which made him frown slightly.

Not far away, on the ground lay a shriveled eyeball, it was unclear whether it belonged to a man or a woman, and there were also patches of dried black blood on the ground.

Clearly, these thugs haven't calmed down even in their own hideout.

Continuing further in, the first floor of the building seemed to be an entertainment venue for these thugs, with large, clearly defined iron cages that they had brought here.

Some of these large iron cages contain pitiful women who are completely naked and covered in wounds.

Some of the large iron cages contained no living creatures, but only disfigured corpses, scarlet entrails, or human remains.

A large swarm of greenbottle flies buzzed around the entrails and limbs, and on some of the older corpses, white maggots could be seen wriggling inside.

It's hard to imagine what kind of inhuman treatment the people trapped in these large iron cages endured before they died.

"These beasts!"

As a woman herself, Han Yueling clearly felt strong sympathy for the plight of these women.

She raised her hand to smash the iron cage in an attempt to save the imprisoned women, but Qiao Suinian only glanced at them and shook her head.

"I advise you to save your energy; they're beyond saving."

Han Yueling glared at Qiao Suinian, ignored him, and continued to rescue the poor women from the iron cage on her own.

Clearly, Han Yueling was still angry with Qiao Suinian and didn't really want to talk to him.

Qiao Suinian didn't say anything more, but instead crossed his arms and waited to see Han Yueling make a fool of herself.

After Han Yueling released the women from the iron cages, their previously empty and dull eyes suddenly lit up.

Immediately afterwards, they moved, and the women rushed up and hugged Han Yueling.

Han Yueling initially thought these women wanted to thank her, so she comforted them, saying, "It's alright, don't be afraid, you're safe now."

But Han Yueling suddenly realized something was wrong, because some of these women had grabbed her arms and others had choked her neck, making her unable to move.

"What are you doing? I'm here to save you!"

But the women completely ignored Han Yueling. They shouted upstairs like children who had just gotten a perfect score on a test and were waiting for their parents to praise them.

"Master! Master, come down and look! Master, look! The dogs have caught a new woman! Come down and reward the dogs!"
