Chapter 125 The Passerby Who Didn't Get the Owl in Harry Potter 2

Chapter 125 The Passerby Who Didn't Get the Owl in Harry Potter 2

While the owl was eating, Jiang Yue's mother, who was standing nearby, also realized what was happening. She picked up the letter, looked at it, and said, "Honey, whose owl is this? Is it one of your classmates? Aren't carrier pigeons supposed to be used for delivering letters? Why are they using an owl?"

Jiang Yue's mother glanced at the letter and handed it to Jiang Yue. Jiang Yue took the letter and looked at the detailed address and the words "To Ms. Jiang Yue". Turning the envelope over, she saw a dark red wax seal and a shield emblem on the back, with a capital "H" surrounded by four animals: a lion, an eagle, a badger, and a snake.

Jiang Yue opened the letter, which read:

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore

(President of the International Wizarding Federation, First-Class Member of the Order of Merlin, Archmage, Chief Wizard of Wizengamo)

Dear Ms. Jiang Yue:

We are pleased to inform you that you have been admitted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Enclosed is a list of required books and equipment.

The semester is scheduled to begin on September 1st. We will be waiting for your reply by owl before July 31st.

Vice Principal (female)

[Respectfully submitted by Minerva McGonagall]

She glanced at the second page, which listed the items first-year wizards needed to buy. Jiang Yue already knew this, so she wasn't as excited. Hermione, however, jumped up and exclaimed happily, "Mom and Dad, I'm going to magic school!"

She ran around the yard shouting, leaving her two mothers both amused and exasperated. Jiang's mother took the letter and looked at it, then said to Jiang Yue, "Is this some kind of little club your school has started? Can Mom learn magic? If not, can you assign me an owl that can deliver letters?"

Hermione's mother was also at a loss for words, both thinking it was just a prank by her children, who were only interested in the two owls. At this moment, the fathers saw the laughter and chatter and came over. The two fathers also looked at the letter and thought it was just a little trick played by the two children, who even performed a few clumsy magic tricks. After the performance, they said to Jiang Yue and Hermione, "Look! Isn't Daddy's magic amazing!"

After saying that, she tried to touch the owl, but was pecked a few times. Hermione then said angrily, "Mom and Dad, it's real magic! If you don't believe me, ask Jiang Yue, she can do it too!" The four parents just gave her perfunctory replies. After all, who would think they couldn't do magic when they were little? They still believed that Santa Claus was real.

Seeing that no one believed her, Hermione glanced around to make sure no one was watching, then used magic to levitate the plate. Although it fell back down after a few seconds, the adults' laughter stopped. Mr. Granger picked up the plate and examined it. Finding no traps, he stammered to Hermione, "Dad, are you seeing things? Can we do it again?" He then looked at the others.

"No, I can't control my magic well. Let Jiang Yue do it; she's much better than me!"

After Hermione finished speaking, everyone's gaze turned to her. Jiang Yue thought for a moment, then snapped her fingers, and all the items on the table floated up, including two round-faced, chubby chickens that were eating meat. They were immediately startled and started clucking. After Jiang Yue put them down, they even ran over and pecked her.

………….....

Location: Hermione's living room.

Characters: Hermione, Jiang Yue, and both sets of parents.

Now that they had finished replying to the letters, the four adults sat on one side of the sofa, while Jiang Yue and Hermione sat on small stools opposite the sofa: "So you all knew you were wizards all along, and then you tacitly didn't tell us parents."

"Mom and Dad, it's not that I didn't want to tell the family, but I only recently discovered it. Before, I could only make things move occasionally, and I thought it was just my imagination, so I never said anything. It wasn't until Jiang Yue came that I accidentally discovered that she also had this talent, and then I started practicing with her."

After Hermione finished speaking, everyone looked at Jiang Yue. Jiang Yue gritted her teeth secretly. "What does it have to do with me if you don't tell your family? I'm the one who's taking the blame." Then, Jiang Yue put on a dejected expression and said in a low voice, "Mainly, I don't know if this is good or bad. I'm afraid it will implicate you. We've both decided to tell you when we go to high school." Jiang Yue felt goosebumps after saying this; this sycophantic talk disgusted her.

The two mothers, with tears in their eyes, seemed to be imagining all sorts of things. They hugged their children and said, "You have to tell us even if something bad happens. We can't let you two little kids bear it all."

After this incident, the barbecue party ended abruptly. Everyone helped pack up and went home. Everyone had questions for their children. When Jiang Yue returned home, her parents started a new round of questioning: "So the dean said you were a bit withdrawn, didn't like playing with others, and were secretly studying magic by yourself?"

That's not actually the case, but that didn't stop Jiang Yue from accepting it, so she nodded without hesitation. Her parents looked at each other and nodded. Jiang's mother said, "I knew it didn't seem like it. After you came home, your father and I were worried that you might have been bullied at the orphanage, so you only became lively after you got home."

After the conversation started, the atmosphere became more lively. Jiang's parents wanted Jiang Yue to demonstrate some magic, but unfortunately, Jiang Yue didn't know how and shouldn't know how. So she could only make the object float for a moment. The day after receiving the letter, Professor McGonagall arrived, much faster than Jiang Yue had imagined. Jiang Yue thought it would take several days for so many new students to be called.

"Hello, Ms. Jiang Yue."

“I am Minerva McGonagall, Vice Headmistress of Hogwarts and Professor of Transfiguration.”

Jiang Yue withdrew her scrutinizing gaze and said to Professor McGonagall, "Professor McGonagall, please come in and have a cup of tea."

Upon hearing Jiang Yue's words, Jiang's parents quickly came out to greet her. After Professor McGonagall entered the house and greeted Jiang Yue's family, she introduced herself: "I am the Vice Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and also your future Transfiguration teacher. You can call me Professor McGonagall."

After introducing herself, Professor McGonagall made a request: "If you would mind, your neighbor Hermione Granger is also a junior wizard. Could you please invite her family over as well?"

"No problem, Professor. When the owl delivered the letter yesterday, we were having a barbecue party. At first, we thought it was just a prank by the kids, but we didn't believe it was really magic until those two kids showed us what they were doing."

Professor McGonagall was a little surprised; this was the first time she had ever seen anything like it. After Mr. Jiang called Hermione's family over, the three parties began a formal conversation.
