Chapter 296 A Passerby in the World of Professional Challenges (16)
After finishing with the refrigerator, Jiang Yue returned to the cabin. The weather was gloomy and looked like it was going to rain again. Her shoulders started to ache again after working for half a day. All that rest was for nothing. "Alright, brothers, the refrigerator thing is done. Look at the meat in my hand. I asked the chef to cut it for me. A small piece is just right for one meal. Today I'll make some stir-fried pork with chili peppers and then cook some rice. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water."
After preparing the meal, Jiang Yue started eating. After the meal, she repaired the door. She had specially bought the parts during her trip to the island. She had originally wanted to buy a piece of glass, but her parents refused, saying that she didn't have the experience and shouldn't mess around with it. They thought it would be a loss if she hurt herself.
After finishing her meal, Jiang Yue took advantage of the good weather to patrol the mountaintop. She saw that the waves were still quite large, so she estimated that she would have to stay here for another two days. After returning to the cabin, she went to the safe house to check on the refrigerator. Great, it was already running successfully, although the charging efficiency was a bit low because it was a cloudy day.
After coming down from the mountain, we took a nap. After waking up, we watched some dramas together. Before we even finished one episode, we looked outside and saw that the wind and rain had started again. Jiang Yue peeked through the crack in the door and said, "What's going on? Is a typhoon coming? This weather is so abnormal."
Just to be on the safe side, while she could still go out, Jiang Yue ran to the safe house and packed a backpack full of food. She also brought over two cases of bottled water. The weather gave her a bad feeling, and she hoped that the typhoon wouldn't come here so she could finish her meat first.
In the evening, Jiang Yue chatted with everyone and sang for a while out of boredom. Oh no, she's really become a singing streamer now. Dinner was still stir-fry. She originally wanted to eat sparingly, but with this weather, Jiang Yue was afraid she wouldn't be able to leave the house one day. To prevent it from spoiling, she might as well eat it herself.
After dinner, Jiang Yue watched some dramas. You can't sing every day, or people will get tired of it. At 10 p.m., Jiang Yue said goodbye as usual and went to bed.
On the third day on the island, the wind was still howling and the rain was pouring down. Jiang Yue could only sneak into the safe house to get food when the wind and rain subsided. After watching dramas all day, Jiang Yue was getting a little bored. This guy couldn't just watch dramas all day long. After thinking for a while, he took out a book on criminal law and transformed into an outlaw and started lecturing everyone.
On the fourth and fifth days, we talked about labor law. Five days had passed, and we had finished eating all the vegetables and meat we brought to the island. The wind and rain not only did not lessen but became even stronger. Jiang Yue guessed that a typhoon was approaching. On the sixth day, Jiang Yue reinforced the doors and windows. She didn't want to wake up the next day to find that everything in the house had been blown away.
"Hello everyone, what should we eat today? We've finished all the vegetables and meat. Oh, what a pity about the lamb. We were planning to have a barbecue. Come on, welcome our old partner, Instant Noodles!"
"After I complete the challenge, I don't want to eat instant noodles for at least a year or two."
"I really don't know how the people of the Great Cold Kingdom manage to eat instant noodles three times a day, without missing a single meal. Is it because they eat them with kimchi? I heard that they don't bite through instant noodles when they eat them there?"
"Okay, breakfast is done for today. Let's treat my poor stomach to some snacks. I seem to have gained weight after not exercising for a few days. I can pinch fat out of my belly. I need to lose weight when the weather gets better."
After finishing breakfast, Jiang Yue opened the canopy and looked outside. Although it wasn't raining, the wind was still strong. The waves weren't as big as they had been a few days ago, but it was still impossible to set up a tent. Jiang Yue jumped out of the window and saw that the solar panels were installed quite sturdily and hadn't been blown away by the wind.
After checking the solar panels, Jiang Yue looked around the small house. It hadn't been damaged by anything falling from the sky. The wind was so strong the other day that things were falling down everywhere, all sorts of random things. Once the weather gets better, Jiang Yue will have to tidy up the larger items.
A lot of timber was used when making the solar panel brackets. When the weather gets better, I need to collect some more to replace them, so that people won't be unable to find them if they need them later.
I stretched my body outside for a bit and then went back to the cabin because the rain started drizzling again, just like a child urinating, coming in bursts every day.
"Brothers, as you can see from the weather, we can only stay here. Nowhere else is safe. A few days ago we talked about criminal law and labor law. Today we'll take a break and teach you some accounting knowledge. In case you start your own company in the future, you won't end up being ripped off by an unreliable person."
This kind of weather is so boring on the island. Jiang Yue just hopes the weather will pass quickly. At noon, Jiang Yue opened a can of braised pork. This was the first can of meat she had eaten in more than a month since she came to the island. She usually couldn't afford to eat it because it was quite expensive.
I had canned food for lunch and was thinking of going down to check the crab traps in the afternoon when the weather was nice. But the rain and wind got stronger in the afternoon. Jiang Yue felt that the wind was level 8 or 9, which felt stronger than the previous few days. The wind was blowing so loudly in the house.
This continued until after midnight. Jiang Yue didn't cook any food, just ate a chicken leg and a can of yellow peaches to tide her over. The next day, after waking up, Jiang Yue stretched and felt the sunlight streaming into the room. There was no howling wind in her ears. Jiang Yue got dressed, came out of the tent, turned on the filming equipment, and went outside.
A bright, sunny day came into view: "What a beautiful day! We've finally made it through! Time to pack! Pack! Let's find some seafood to eat today! I'm so hungry!"
After packing her things, she took a patrol to the top of the mountain. She couldn't see a single boat or person. After returning to the mountainside, she put her things away, grabbed some food, and then got some drinks from the refrigerator. She planned to have a good meal today, as her fishing rod was itching to get to work.
After descending to the platform, Jiang Yue didn't rush to set up the tent. She swept up the water on the ground, knowing it would dry quickly after the sun rose. She took out a small bucket and shovel, and went to the crab trap. After pulling it up, she caught five crabs, found some snails and mussels, and smashed them all when she returned to the platform, intending to use them as bait for fishing.
After a busy morning of fishing for several days, I also prepared some snails, oysters, mussels, and crabs for a hearty lunch. After lunch, I lay in her hammock for a while, and it was incredibly comfortable.
The rest of the second month passed peacefully. At the end of the month, Jiang Yue returned to town to reunite with her family. The third month was not too difficult either, as she had already adapted to the first two months. The only noteworthy thing was that Jiang Yue spent the Mid-Autumn Festival on the island.
