Chapter 483 The Game's Arrival in the Real World: A Passerby (6)

"Does it really smell like medicine?"

"Yue'er, you could taste it?"

Jiang Yue nodded and gestured for her parents to wait. She picked up a piece of chili pepper and ate it. The medicinal taste wasn't on it. Then she picked up a peppercorn. Hmm, now she'd found the real culprit.

"It's the Sichuan peppercorns that's the problem. Mom and Dad, you should try them."

Mr. and Mrs. Jiang picked up a peppercorn and tried it. They could only taste the numbing sensation of the peppercorn, but they couldn't taste any medicinal flavor at all: "This doesn't taste like medicine either."

"Dad, call the store and ask them to find some Sichuan peppercorns. A big bag of Sichuan peppercorns should be able to smell the medicine, while a small amount will have the smell of Sichuan peppercorns masking it."

"It's not just this dish that has a medicinal taste; it's probably a problem with dishes that use large peppercorns. It's just that this regular customer is sensitive to flavors and that's why he noticed it."

Knowing the problem, Jiang's father called the restaurant and found that it was indeed the Sichuan peppercorns that were the issue. However, they were eating at the restaurant, so they would discuss how to handle it at the restaurant tomorrow.

After dinner, Jiang Yue went to read for a while. Her parents thought she was studying and didn't want Junjun to bother her. They believed that children should do whatever they didn't want them to do. So, Jiang's mother let him come over, but he soon ran off to play with his excavator. One of the wheels broke, so he asked his father to fix it for him.

After reading for a while, Jiang Yue's deskmate called her on video to invite her to play games. Since she had nothing else to do, Jiang Yue decided to play with them. It was quite fun playing games with five people.

Jiang Yue played until evening. Seeing that it was getting late and Jiang Yue was still playing, her mother urged her to go to bed early. Jiang Yue checked the time, decisively said goodbye to her classmate, and went to sleep.

The next morning, Jiang Yue was woken up by Junjun again. After breakfast, Jiang's parents went to a restaurant, while Jiang Yue stayed home to take care of the children. Jiang Yue didn't want to stay at home all the time, so she asked her father to take them to her grandfather's house.

After arriving at her grandfather's neighborhood, Jiang Yue got out of the car with the child in her arms. Jiang's mother told her to keep an eye on the child, as he was too fussy and would tire out his grandparents. Jiang Yue waved her hand to reassure them, and then took Junjun's hand and entered the neighborhood.

On her way into the apartment building, Jiang Yue took out her phone and made a video call to her grandmother. After the call connected, Jiang Yue asked, "Grandma, are you home?"

"I'm here, what's up?"

"Look where I am?"

"Oh, did you come here alone? Where are your parents?"

At this moment, Junjun also heard his grandmother's voice. He held Jiang Yue's hand and kept calling for his grandmother. Jiang Yue couldn't stand his fussing, so she handed him her phone. Despite his small size, he had already learned how to make video calls.

"Grandma, Grandma, I'm here."

“Jun Jun is here too. Wait for Grandma, Grandma will come down to get you.”

Grandma Jiang Yue was a very energetic person. She hung up the video call before Jiang Yue could say anything. Jiang Yue wanted to say that it wasn't necessary, that she didn't know the way, but it was too late now.

Just as Junjun was about to call back, Jiang Yue took the phone from him: "Let's go, Grandma's here to pick us up, let's stop playing on our phones."

Okay.

Jiang Yue led Jiang Jun towards her grandmother's house. As soon as they got downstairs, her grandmother came out of the elevator. When Jun Jun saw his grandmother, he let go of Jiang Yue's hand and ran towards her.

Judging from their appearance, it seemed like they hadn't seen each other for a long time. In fact, Grandma brought Jiang Yue stewed chicken last week. Knowing that she was about to take the college entrance exam and that it would be mentally taxing, she would bring her things to help her recover from time to time. This made Jiang's mother say that she thought she was abusing her child at home, wondering if she was starving or something.

When they got on the elevator, Grandma asked Jiang Yue why she had time to come over. You know, this was the last semester, and the original owner of this body was so busy with her studies that she couldn't even leave the house. Otherwise, she wouldn't have died suddenly and Jiang Yue wouldn't have had to come over.

“My mom and dad went to the store, and I didn’t want to stay at home, so I came here.”

"Have you finished the test papers?"

"Well, there are only a few dozen days left until the college entrance exam. There's no use cramming at the last minute, so it's better to relax."

"By the way, what do you want to eat today? Grandma will make it for you."

"Oil-splashed noodles!"

"Okay, then let's have oil-splashed noodles."

When they got home, Grandpa had already washed a plate of fruit, all of which were the siblings' favorites. With the children being looked after by their grandparents, Jiang Yue suddenly had some free time. She ate some fruit, lay on the sofa, and started playing on her phone.

Around noon, the old lady took Junjun to buy groceries. Jiang Yue was too lazy to go out and stayed home watching TV. Perhaps because Jiang Yue had brought Junjun with her, she felt that the news was implying something.

After watching TV for a while, Jiang Yue was called to play games in the WeChat group. She checked the time and her grandparents were about to return from shopping, so she sent a voice message saying she would play again in the afternoon because she needed to eat. Just after sending the message, Jiang Yue heard Junjun's voice. She put down her phone and ran over to open the door for them.

After opening the door, Jiang Yue took the things from her grandfather's hands. They were quite heavy. Jiang Yue leaned closer and asked her grandfather, "Grandpa, what did you buy? It's so heavy."

"I bought half a sheep, I'll cook mutton for you."

"Then I want braised lamb chops."

"Okay, Grandpa will make it for you."

After putting the food in the kitchen, Jiang Yue was chased out by her grandmother: "Call your mother and ask if they are eating at a restaurant or at home."

"OK."

After taking a big bite of the ice cream Junjun handed her, Jiang Yue made a video call to her mother. Jiang Yue wasn't a little girl, and since the other child was too young to eat too much, giving Jiang Yue a small portion was just right. When the video call connected, Jiang Yue saw her mother and the others in the car, guessing they were coming over for dinner. However, she still asked, "Mom, Grandma asked if you're coming over for dinner?"

"We're on our way there, so let your grandma do more."

Jiang Yue turned her head and shouted towards the kitchen, "Grandma, my mom said they're coming over for dinner, so make a lot more." After shouting, she said to her mother, "Mom, could you buy some drinks at the supermarket on your way? Grandma's house doesn't have any drinks."

What would you like to drink?

"Just buy some, anything with a bit of flavor will do."

Grandma heard what Jiang Yue said and said to her at the kitchen door, "I'm making mutton soup in a bit. Aren't you going to drink some?"

"Drink, this won't stop me from having a drink. Okay? I'm hanging up now. Remember to buy some."

Junjun heard Jiang's mother talking and came over. Jiang Yue pretended to bite his ice cream, which scared the child away. His short legs ran quite fast. As he ran, he kept looking back to see if Jiang Yue was chasing him. Jiang Yue saw him run to his grandfather and complain about Jiang Yue: "Grandpa, my sister is bad! She ate all my ice cream."

"Jun Jun, be good. Grandpa will give you a whole one tomorrow. We won't give any to your sister this time."

"Give her some, just a little bit."

This made Grandpa laugh, and he pinched his nose, saying, "No wonder he gets bullied."

"I didn't bully you, I didn't bully you."
