Chapter 70: Voices from the Entertainment Industry - Passerby A (Part 2)
After making the call, Jiang Yue quickly opened the app and searched for herself. Sure enough, she saw the topic #JiangYueStreetStreetShop#. When she clicked on it, all the comments below praised her beauty and some even asked to run into her. Scrolling down further, she saw someone say that they had met her on xx street, and the picture was of the restaurant where she had just eaten.
Jiang Yue clicked her tongue. This was too much of a panic. But better safe than sorry, she decided to do as Aunt Qing said. She asked her assistant in the group when they would arrive and learned that they were already downstairs. The assistant also told her that the hotel had been booked and she could just take her things to the basement parking lot, where they were already waiting for her at the elevator.
There wasn't much stuff in the hotel room. It was just a temporary stay for one night. Jiang Yue put her phone charger in her bag, pulled her suitcase, glanced at the potato chips and snacks she had bought before leaving, and then took them with her. She pulled her hat down, closed the door, and headed straight for the basement.
With a ding, the elevator doors opened, and Jiang Yue saw her assistant. The assistant wasn't very tall, and had a slightly round face. She looked a bit like Qiu'er, the maid next to the female lead in the previous world, and her bun hairstyle made her look even more like her.
Jiang Yue waved to her assistant, who immediately ran over and bowed deeply. Jiang Yue quickly helped her up, saying, "Sister Yue, my name is You Fangni, I'm 22 years old. Please take care of me in the future!"
"My name is Jiang Yue. Let's work together from now on and take care of each other."
After Jiang Yue finished speaking, the assistant smiled with dimples showing, looking especially cute. No wonder Aunt Qing asked her to be Jiang Yue's assistant. If she was angry, seeing her smile would calm her down. Then the assistant took the suitcase from Jiang Yue's hands. Jiang Yue didn't insist on carrying it herself. That's what the assistant's job is. Why should you fight with her? If you feel sorry for her, just pay her more.
The assistant led Jiang Yue to the RV, where a dashing woman leaned against the vehicle. She had short, neat hair, wore sunglasses, was tall, and had an average appearance, but her overall aura made people unconsciously overlook her looks.
The assistant introduced to Jiang Yue, "Sister Yue, this is our driver for this trip, Sister Qiao."
"Hello, I'm your driver, my name is Qiao Zhen, please take care of me in the future."
Jiang Yue introduced herself, and Xiao Qiao helped put the luggage into the trunk. The three of them got into the car. Sister Qiao drove, the assistant sat in the passenger seat, and Jiang Yue sat alone in the back. The car quickly drove out of the parking lot and headed towards their destination.
Along the way, the assistant chatted with Jiang Yue enthusiastically, making her feel very relaxed. Jiang Yue even secretly chatted with the assistant about Sister Qiao, and the two shared a little secret and became closer. Before long, they arrived at their destination. The three of them booked two rooms: one for Jiang Yue and one for the assistant and Sister Qiao. After settling in, Jiang Yue tagged Aunt Qing in the group chat, took a picture, and posted it. After a while, Aunt Qing replied, "Received."
After reporting the situation to Aunt Qing, Jiang Yue sent an 8888 yuan red envelope to her assistant and Sister Qiao in the group chat. This was equivalent to two months' salary for them. Jiang Yue could hear the assistant's cheers from inside the room, but unfortunately, she couldn't see the assistant's expression. Fortunately, she received sincere thanks from both of them. Jiang Yue then sent a 20,000 yuan red envelope to the assistant's other account. Although the travel expenses were reimbursed for business trips, there were always some expenses that had to be paid by the assistant herself. She couldn't let the assistant pay for it, since the assistant had just graduated and didn't have the money to pay for it.
The assistant didn't understand Jiang Yue's meaning, so Jiang Yue said, "Little cutie, this money is for you to buy something or do something. You should use this account to pay for it, and keep it separate from your personal account. When you run out of money, just let me know and I'll give it to you. But I will check the account when I have time, so don't spend it recklessly."
"Little Cute" is the nickname of the assistant, not given to her by Jiang Yue. She mentioned in the car that her friends call her that. They chatted for a while in the car, and Jiang Yue even knows how many people are in her family.
In just a short while, the assistant's messages almost flooded the chat, mostly with "thank you boss" emojis. Jiang Yue glanced at them and left the group chat. She then saw a message in the company group: a movie was soliciting theme songs, and those interested could sign up. There was also a brief introduction to the movie below. Jiang Yue downloaded it and looked at it. Wasn't this "Me and My Father"? Of course, the song "As You Wish" was needed!
Jiang Yue checked with 8888 to confirm that the song had indeed been dropped by the butterfly, and that the song didn't exist in this timeline. The similarity to the movie was purely coincidental. After confirming the situation, Jiang Yue took the song out of her space, took a picture of it, and sent it to Aunt Qing. She also mentioned that it was a song she had recently written and asked if it would be suitable as the theme song for the movie.
Aunt Qing didn't have high hopes when she received the song from Jiang Yue. Many famous composers hadn't been able to get it, so she didn't think Jiang Yue could either. However, in order not to discourage Jiang Yue's confidence, she still decided to take a look.
After reading it, she still needed to think about how to comfort Jiang Yue. She wanted to help her see her own abilities clearly, but she couldn't say anything too harsh to avoid hurting her. Aunt Qing sighed. She was tired after a long day of work, so she sat up from her chair, made herself some coffee, closed the door, took off her high heels, and turned on an episode of a TV series. While it was buffering, she could read what Jiang Yue had written.
Aunt Qing casually took a sip of her cappuccino, first glancing at the song title, "As You Wish." Hmm, that's an interesting title. But after reading the whole song, with the cappuccino spilled all over her, Aunt Qing's eyes widened in disbelief. This...this...this couldn't have been written by Jiang Yue, could it? She knew Jiang Yue's songwriting abilities all too well. Though she said this aloud, a voice inside her seemed to say, "It's her, it's her! I know what kind of person she is, she wouldn't lie to me."
Two thoughts swirled in her mind until she felt a sharp pain in her body. She had been burned by the coffee. Aunt Qing suddenly stood up, the chair creaking as it moved. Ignoring her burned hand, she zoomed in on the screen to examine the picture again. She was sure it was well-written. She quickly grabbed her phone from the table to call Jiang Yue and ask about the song. Aunt Qing had so many questions on her mind.
Aunt Qing's assistant in the outer office heard the sound of a water glass falling to the ground and a chair making a jarring noise. Realizing something must have happened inside, she quickly got up and knocked on the door: "Manager? Manager, are you alright? Do you need any help?"
Aunt Qing was about to say no, but she swallowed her words because her phone screen had become distorted from the coffee, so she had to use another phone. Aunt Qing calmed herself down, took a few deep breaths, and realized that she had lost her composure in her haste. She took a few more deep breaths to adjust her emotions, turned off the computer screen, and called out, "Come in!"
When the assistant came in, she saw that Aunt Qing was covered in coffee, and the cup was broken all over the floor. Not knowing what had happened, she thought it was just coffee spilled on her. She ran over, grabbed some tissues, and quickly wiped Aunt Qing's skin. Seeing a large red patch on her skin, the assistant hurriedly asked, "Manager, should we go to the hospital?"
"No need, it's not very hot, I don't need to go to the hospital. Go to the logistics department and apply for a cell phone for me, I need it urgently."
After cleaning up the broken cups on the floor, the assistant went to the logistics department. Aunt Qing also went to the company's gym area to take a shower and change her clothes. Her emotions calmed down while she was showering. The song was of such high quality. If it was written by Jiang Yue, that would be the best. She would feel like she had struck gold. Her current position was almost at its limit. With Jiang Yue as her treasure, she might be able to get promoted. If it wasn't written by Jiang Yue, that was fine too. It would also mean that Jiang Yue had a terrifyingly talented composer behind her. In any case, she wouldn't lose out.
Thinking of this, Zhao Qing smiled self-deprecatingly. He used to think that he had reached the point where he could not show his emotions, but he did not expect that he had not been stimulated enough.
