Chapter 45: A Passerby in the True and False Heiress Story (Part 4)
Jiang Yue glanced at him; he was indeed quite handsome, with a refined and cultured appearance. Most importantly, his surname was Yang, and he was a good student. Wasn't he the standard male supporting character? She had initially been a little curious, but her mood instantly soured. Jiang Yue quickly looked around, thankfully not seeing the female lead.
Jiang Yue decided to stay away from this boy to avoid being resented by the fake heiress for getting close to the male supporting character. Fortunately, the exam started soon after. Jiang Yue looked at the test paper and saw that it was a bit difficult for her, but she would do her best. Jiang Yue didn't have much hope to begin with, and the encounter with the male supporting character further diminished her expectations.
After finishing the exam, Jiang Yue didn't linger and went back to the school bus. Soon after, she saw the Yang family's car arrive to pick her up, along with the real and fake heiresses. Jiang Yue chuckled to herself, thinking, "I should have known better than to participate in this competition. I knew there would be a male supporting character who's a top student in this kind of story, and he would definitely participate in this kind of event. It was only a matter of time before I ran into him."
The fake heiress started acting up again in less than two minutes. Jiang Yue looked at Zhao Ying, the real heiress, with a look of utter despair that was absolutely hilarious. She couldn't help but laugh as she watched. Unfortunately, even though she wanted to leave, the real heiress thought she was playing hard to get and was trying to kill her.
Jiang Yue called out number 8888 and asked, "8888, isn't the female lead in this world a transmigrator? Doesn't she know how crazy that family is?"
8888: "Host, the world plot we obtained is definitely correct, but we don't know what the female lead is thinking. She may have her own plans. We just need to do our own tasks well."
Jiang Yue sighed regretfully: "Well, I feel that this female lead is not as smart as Li Mengqi or Chen Xin at all, and is just as bad as Liu Ruyan."
"The protagonists in each world are different. Besides, our world is not a sadomasochistic story. The female lead is not harmed, even though she is crazy."
"Well, I don't plan to have any interaction with the protagonist in this world anyway, so whatever."
After watching the play for a while, Jiang Yue lowered her head and continued reading. Little did she know that the real heiress had also looked over the moment she looked down. After seeing nothing, she impatiently went to deal with the fake heiress.
Before long, all the participants from No. 1 High School had arrived. The teacher counted the number of people to make sure no one was missing and then signaled to the driver that they could set off. After the car started moving, Jiang Yue put away her books, as reading on the car was bad for her eyes. After returning to school, the competition tutor asked Jiang Yue how she had done on the exam.
"I feel okay, but I don't plan to participate anymore. I guess this is where I'll stop."
Jiang Yue was mainly losing interest; she figured if she went again, she'd probably just be eliminated in the first round. The teacher saw that Jiang Yue's complexion was normal and let her go back to the classroom. Back in the classroom, her roommate asked her how the exam went. Jiang Yue said it was so-so and she figured she'd only make it this far. Her roommate quickly comforted her, telling her not to worry and that she could try again next time. Jiang Yue smiled and said, "I don't care. I'd rather think about what to eat in the cafeteria today."
Seeing that she wasn't unhappy, everyone started talking enthusiastically about what to eat that night. After dinner, Jiang Yue went back to her dorm to rest.
Lying in bed that night, she pondered her next plan: "Since I don't want to have too much contact with the main characters, I should try to avoid running into them as much as possible," Jiang Yue muttered to herself.
In the days that followed, Jiang Yue focused on her studies at school, occasionally attending some tutoring classes, but not for high school subjects, but for university subjects. This was because Jiang Yue had hit a bottleneck; she couldn't find answers to many questions, or finding answers was too time-consuming, involving a lot of junk information, like finding gold in the trash.
Jiang Yue found a tutor on a local tutoring website. This tutor is a PhD student and his fees are relatively high. Fortunately, Jiang Yue has made a lot of money from stock trading over the years and has almost reached a small goal, so she can afford it. Every weekend, she would video chat with the tutor to ask him questions. The tutor was surprised when he saw Jiang Yue. He thought she was an undergraduate student. He didn't expect her to be only a high school student. He exclaimed that she was too stubborn and asked what they, as senior tutors, should do.
Despite their playful banter, the other person was quite capable and could solve most of Jiang Yue's problems. If he couldn't solve them, he could ask his teacher. He said he had been scolded by his teacher quite a bit during this period. Before the end of the day, he asked Jiang Yue if she wanted to take the college entrance examination early, since she was wasting her time in high school. Jiang Yue didn't say anything but said she would think about it.
In fact, Jiang Yue had this idea too. She was only in her second year of high school, but she had already basically completed her undergraduate studies. Staying here would be pointless. Jiang Yue finally made up her mind. When she went home for the weekend, she discussed it carefully with her parents. After persuading them, the family went to the teacher to apply for early college entrance examination.
The teacher knew Jiang Yue's level and agreed. In June, Jiang Yue took the exam ahead of schedule. Before the results were even released, schools called her, indicating that she had done well. Jiang Yue politely declined, saying that she already had a university she liked.
Soon after, the school found out and held a meeting to give Jiang Yue a scholarship and arrange several interviews. Jiang Yue also praised the school principal and teachers for how good they were to their students, how much they cared about their studies and how responsible they were. She turned into a praise robot. After this round of interviews, even the principal felt that he hadn't given her enough money.
After finishing the exam, Jiang Yue told her tutor about her results and her plans to apply for his graduate program. The tutor agreed and is now waiting for Jiang Yue to enroll.
After filling out the college application, things were much easier. Jiang Yue even took her parents on a trip. They were initially reluctant to go because they thought it would be too expensive and wanted to save money. However, when Jiang Yue showed her parents a stock account that she had opened a few years ago using her father's identity, the elderly couple were shocked when they saw the 1 followed by 1234567 and eight zeros. They immediately asked Jiang Yue if this was illegal and suggested she turn herself in.
Jiang Yue quickly explained that it was all legal and compliant, and when her parents realized what was happening, they quickly closed the door. When they came back, they grabbed Jiang Yue's ear and said, "You're really good at hiding and enduring. You almost scared your mother to death. And you act like nothing happened every day. We won't be able to sleep soundly from now on, because we're afraid someone will steal our money."
Jiang Yue quickly called out to her mother, begging for mercy. It took her a while to calm her down. The two of them were really frightened and the shock was too great. Jiang Yue took the opportunity to suggest that they move with her to the city where she goes to school. Jiang's mother was reluctant to go at first, but Jiang Yue said, "Mom, Mom, think about it. If we buy a house near the school, I can come home every day. I do experiments every day and don't eat well, so you can bring me food. Then we can buy Dad a bigger car, and on weekends, our whole family can drive out to play, go camping, and go sightseeing. Wouldn't that be great?"
