Chapter 387 The Untold Stories About Me and the Snake (12)

When Tongsu came out of the bathroom, she found that Wuming had left sometime earlier.

However, there were quite a few things on the table.

A bar of soap, a set of toothbrush and toothpaste, a mirror, a bag of compressed biscuits, and a bottle of water.

He went out, retrieved these things for her, and then left again?

Tong Su pursed her lips.

It's hard to describe the feeling. It's like someone lit a stove for her in the deepest darkness of despair, a small and warm place.

In the cold darkness, the only warmth and light.

A smile finally bloomed on her face—the first smile she'd shown since arriving in this godforsaken place.

The base was deep underground, with no windows. Ventilation relied entirely on ventilation pipes and air conditioning. There was no sunlight, and no clocks, so it was impossible to tell the time.

Tongsu ate some compressed biscuits and drank half a bottle of water, but he still hadn't returned. The longer she waited, the more tired she became, and before she knew it, she drifted off to sleep.

When I woke up again, the room was pitch black and the lights were off.

She sat up abruptly.

Suddenly, a chill ran down his spine, as if he were being watched by someone. He turned around in surprise and looked in the direction of the gaze, and saw a pair of dark and sharp eyes.

"!!!"

Tong Su was tense all over, extremely nervous.

It was Wu Ming; he was awakened by her movements.

He wasn't sleeping in bed, but was dressed neatly, sitting kneeling in the corner of the wall next to the table, with a dagger strapped to his waist, within easy reach.

A wary and guarded posture, facing the door.

"You're back? Aren't you going to sleep?" she said softly. "I haven't thanked you yet, thank you for bringing me toiletries and food."

The man ignored her, closed his eyes, and remained silent.

Tong Su paused for a moment, then lay back down.

It was obvious that this room, although it was a man's dormitory, and this bed, were not where he rested.

He was like someone who had experienced too much danger, extremely vigilant, even when sleeping, he remained on high alert.

She thought she wouldn't be able to sleep, but lying in bed, listening to the man's barely audible, steady breathing, she naturally felt an indescribable sense of security, and soon drifted back to sleep.

She settled into Wu Ming's dormitory. Wu Ming would often go out, and when he came back, he would sit in the corner and fall asleep in a guarded posture.

After an unknown amount of time, Tong Su's anxious tranquility was finally broken.

She was awakened by a huge noise.

"Xin You! Get out here right now and carry out the mission! Come out! You bastard, don't think you're something special just because you've hooked up with Wu Ming! He'll die sooner or later!"

"Keep your voice down, this is Wu Ming's dormitory!"

"He's not here, so what's wrong with yelling?"

The sound of cursing and swearing came from outside the door.

Tong Su sat up abruptly, hearing footsteps approaching and someone trying to kick the door. Wu Ming suddenly leaped up, his black figure moving so fast it was invisible. The next moment, the door opened and closed, and the cursing outside stopped abruptly.

"Wow! Wow! You, you, you're in the dorm?"

The person who was trying to dissuade him was clearly trembling. Wu Ming didn't answer, and he didn't dare to ask any more questions. He hurriedly said, "The commander has assigned a new task, requiring Xin You to go."

After saying that, he ran away quickly, as if dragging something heavy.

It's probably the person who insulted me before. I just don't know if he's still alive.

Tong Su's eyes flickered.

Wu Ming held a dagger in his hand, blood dripping from its blade.
