While Tongsu and 666 were bickering, Steward Liwen was pacing anxiously in circles.
"So that's how it is...so that's how it is..." He gritted his teeth and looked up at Tong Su, "If it weren't for this special ore, how effective would the dagger you forged be?"
Tong Su said, "It depends on luck. If it's good, it'll be two or three; if it's bad, it'll be one or two."
So little?!
Steward Li Wen's expression immediately changed. His eyes flickered with thought for a moment, but he still respectfully placed the dagger on the table and said with a smile, "Miss, would you please wait a moment? I need to consult with the person in charge of our chamber of commerce."
"Sure, but you'd better hurry."
Tong Su nodded and sat down at the head of the table without any ceremony. Steward Li Wen quickly gave his subordinate a signal, ordering him to bring over some precious tea and pastries.
"I'll be right there, please wait for me..."
As soon as he stepped out the door, Steward Liwen's expression changed from respectful to indifferent. After leaving the house and turning the corner, he waved to his trusted subordinates.
The subordinate asked in a deep voice, "Steward, how much of what she says do you believe?"
Steward Li Wen scoffed softly, "How much do you believe? At most one part! The fire on the dagger is indeed newly forged, but where did she get the ability to actually figure out a way to forge a weapon infused with spiritual power?"
"Are you saying she's lying to us?"
"That's hard to say. But listen to what she said about using up all the ore powder, doesn't that mean she can't possibly forge a weapon of this caliber anymore? Is it that she doesn't have the materials to forge it, or is it that she simply can't do it?"
“Or we could just—” The subordinate’s eyes turned cold as he made a murderous gesture, “After all, finding this dagger would be enough to get you off this little merchant ship and into the Wind Sky Merchant Guild headquarters, where you can then get involved with her again…”
“But what if she really has a way to make new weapons?” Steward Leven countered. “This dagger could get me promoted to the Wind Sky Headquarters, but if I really master this resource, entering the Wind Family Headquarters wouldn’t be out of the question!”
The subordinate grunted and got stuck.
"Killing for treasure is out of the question. What era are we living in? How can you be sure she didn't leave a backup plan? If she had posted the message online beforehand and died on my merchant ship, I would be the one who's doomed!"
"But Steward, even if we treat her like an honored guest, it won't work. What if she's a fraud? Or perhaps we should force her to reveal her refining method so we can get it—"
"If it really comes to that, then we'll have completely broken off relations! If we don't get anything out of them, wouldn't we lose everything?"
"Then, Steward, what should we do?"
After the initial excitement subsided, calm returned to his mind. Steward Leven pondered for a moment, then whispered, "There's only one way..."
.
He only has one way.
Inside the room, Tong Su sat on the sofa, a smile playing on her lips.
This reception room is one of the merchant ship's high-class meeting rooms, with a sizable floor-to-ceiling window offering a view of the twinkling stars in space.
In the distance, nebulae shimmer like neon lights, and shooting stars flash by. Starships sail through the black universe, appearing as tiny as ants in the sea.
Xuan Ting looked at her with a complicated expression: "Of the weapons you put in the box, only this one can contain spiritual energy, but it's definitely not because of any ore! You did it on purpose, only forging this one!"
He did it on purpose, lying to Steward Liwen.
Tongsu picked up the tea that the servant brought.
The tea is golden in color, with a slightly faint fragrance and a stronger sweetness. The tea leaves inside look very strange, and it is completely different from the tea of Earth's era. It just borrows the name.
"When doing business with someone, you can't reveal all your secrets on the first meeting."
