Lan Shuer and Ji Yu became pariahs overnight.
With endorsements withdrawn, contracts broken, and his company sidelined, Ji Yu's team members all submitted their resignations. Soon after, even his agent directly proposed to terminate the agency contract.
Ji Yu was so angry she almost ground her teeth to powder, glaring resentfully at her manager and assistant: "You guys, don't go too far!"
The assistant avoided his gaze, simply placed the resignation letter on the table, and ran away with her head down.
The agent, without a trace of guilt, scoffed and sneered.
"Mr. Ji, I'm sorry. Even husband and wife abandon each other in times of trouble, let alone us who are just working together. You should just sign the termination agreement as soon as possible. You're going to never recover anyway, so just accept it!"
"No, I can't accept this!" Ji Yu roared.
The broker sneered: "Don't accept it? How can you not accept it! You brought all this on yourself! Now that you've ended up like this, who can you blame but yourself!"
Whose fault is it?
Ji Yu was in a daze, watching helplessly as the agent tossed down a few contracts and walked away.
He felt nothing but bitterness and couldn't muster a smile. He grabbed the bottle and poured the liquor down his throat.
No, we can't blame him. If we have to blame someone, we should blame Xi Tongsu!
Ji's parents were sighing and complaining at home. All he heard were their complaints and grievances, which made him increasingly irritable and resentful. He wanted to stay at home less and less.
In a fit of anger, he slammed the door and left home, going out to clear his head in frustration.
But not long after he stepped outside, he had a vague feeling that someone was following him. Ji Yu turned around abruptly and saw a flash of light.
It was an inconspicuous car slowly driving by the roadside!
Paparazzi!
Ji Yu's pupils contracted sharply, and he subconsciously looked at the reflection in the shop window next to him. He saw that he was disheveled, unkempt, and had dark circles under his eyes. He looked haggard and ugly.
He was both shocked and furious. He immediately rushed towards the car and kicked the door hard, yelling, "Get out! Give me the camera and delete everything! Do you hear me? Get out!"
The paparazzi, unfazed, sneered from inside the car: "Get out here, Ji Yu? We don't need to listen to you. If you attack the car again, we'll call the police for damaging other people's property!"
The conflict here attracted the attention of passersby.
Passersby looked toward the source of the commotion, initially failing to notice who the disheveled, drunk-looking man was. But upon closer inspection, they exclaimed in surprise, "Ji Yu!"
"Ji Yu? Holy crap, is that the celebrity Ji Yu?"
"It's Ji Yu! Everyone, come quick!"
"Hurry and take a picture! He's gone out! Go take a picture!"
"Wasn't he supposed to be all high and mighty? Look at him now, hahaha..."
A crowd surged forward, looking at him with a mixture of excitement and disdain, snapping photos of him with their phones.
Ji Yu suddenly realized his current predicament. His face turned red with embarrassment and anger. He dared not stay any longer, so he pulled his hat over his head, covered his face, and hurriedly ran away.
"Hey, Ji Yu, don't run away! I haven't taken a picture of you yet!"
Ji Yu fled in terror, finally managing to hide at the corner of a secluded alley. Even after watching the people chasing him leave, laughing and joking, Ji Yu was still shaken.
He leaned weakly against the wall, and after a long while, he slowly slid down and squatted down, hugging his knees.
He hated it!
I hate Lan Shuer, but I hate Xi Tongsu even more!
Just then, my phone rang.
Ji Yu glanced at the screen, his expression filled with hatred. He immediately answered the call and said fiercely, "Lan Shu'er, how dare you call me?"
On the other end, Lan Shu'er said coldly, "I'm not going to waste my breath on you. I'm only asking you, I want to take revenge on Xi Tongsu, will you help me or not!"
