Now that Yaoyao has lost her memory and her body has just recovered enough to have breakfast with the whole family, Nan's mother was very worried when she asked someone to prepare breakfast, fearing that Yaoyao would cause trouble again.
After thinking it over, she instructed someone to place both toast and small steamed buns in front of her at the same time.
She held onto hope, but she never expected that after her daughter sat down, she would only glance at the toast with curiosity before happily bringing over the small steamed buns!
"When I was in the orphanage, my favorite food was steamed buns! Sometimes the director would buy meat, vegetables and flour, and we would make steamed buns together. Everyone said that my steamed buns were the best!"
Her eyes crinkled with a smile, warm and sincere: "Mom, Dad, once my arm is healed, I'll cook you a delicious meal myself."
Nan's mother smiled and said, "Okay, I'm looking forward to it. But we'll have to wait until you're better before you eat it. You can try the one made by the chef at home first."
She nodded, took a small bite of the steamed bun, and her eyes lit up as soon as she took a bite: "Delicious!" She couldn't wait to continue taking bites, and swallowed the small steamed bun in two or three bites.
Although she ate quickly, there was no sign of recklessness. It just made people feel that she genuinely loved food. Watching her eat happily, even Nan's mother and father felt a little hungry.
Nan Yun Shen raised an eyebrow: "You only make things for Mom and Dad, but you abandon me?"
The girl exclaimed "Ah!" and quickly swallowed the food in her mouth. A little embarrassed, she said, "How could I forget my brother? I want to cook something delicious for him too—"
“It’s settled then,” he said bluntly. “Once your arm is healed, you’ll take care of my lunch on Saturdays and Sundays when I don’t have school. If I have to work overtime, you’ll have to bring me lunch from the company. If you don’t, I won’t eat.”
The girl stared in disbelief: "???"
No, didn't I say I'd only cook once?
How did I become his dedicated chef in just a few words?!
"That's not how it's calculated..."
Nan Yun glanced at her, his voice cold:
"What, you're already planning to dismantle the bridge before we've even crossed the river? I've worked so hard to tutor you, and you won't even be willing to give me lunch? So Yaoyao is such a heartless child."
Nan's father and mother watched the scene with smiles on their faces. The girl turned her head away, looking confused and helpless, but they remained silent, just watching with smiles.
"I didn't..." she said, feeling wronged. It was clearly him who insisted on giving her extra lessons, so how come it all turned out to be her fault?
"So you still want to refuse?"
She nodded helplessly with a pained expression, pouting, "But I don't know what my brother likes to eat."
A faint smile appeared in Nan Yunshen's deep, dark eyes: "I like everything Yaoyao likes to eat."
"I like to eat wontons, steamed buns, and dumplings."
“I also like wontons, steamed buns, and dumplings. Yaoyao, just make these for me.”
"No, you don't like it!" The girl suddenly laughed triumphantly, pointing to the breakfast on the table with a sly smile. "You only had one cup of black coffee this morning. If you treat coffee as your main meal, then I'll just pour you a cup of coffee!"
Nan Yun Shen was taken aback, not knowing whether to laugh or cry, while his parents burst into laughter.
"Alright, alright, this is the first time I've ever seen someone put Yun Shen to the point of silence," Nan's mother wiped away tears of laughter. "What good is it if you don't like eating breakfast and just drink a cup of coffee? I've told you so many times and you never listen. Now Yao Yao is laughing at you. Let's see if you'll eat anything from now on!"
