As Xiao Lingchen finished reading the newly delivered official documents late into the night, the darkness outside the window receded, a chill permeated the air, and the east began to lighten with the first light of dawn.
"How come it's already dawn?"
He frowned slightly, closed his eyes, and rubbed his temples with his fingers, a rare hint of fatigue appearing on his handsome face.
Xiao Lingchen hadn't eaten anything for a day and a half.
But he was always an anorexic and didn't feel hungry at all. With his eyes closed, he calmly ordered, "Today is a day off. I will not attend court. I will rest for a while. Call me in an hour."
Xiao Shisan, a trusted subordinate, agreed, but still looked at Xiao Lingchen's tired face with concern.
