Chapter 1: I Took Off My Brother's Green Hat
"I've already told you I've broken up with him completely, what more do you want from me?"
Ji Huaizhi was awakened by the woman's furious voice.
After getting up, he saw himself in the mirror wearing a yellow duck pajama set, a look that contrasted sharply with his unruly demeanor.
Following the sound of the argument, Ji Huaizhi saw a face that resembled his own, but this face looked very upright, with gold-rimmed glasses that made him look very refined. In online terms, he had a very dignified and respectable air about him.
The radiant woman in front of them was still roaring, and the two were so engrossed in their argument that they didn't notice Ji Huaizhi was nearby.
"If our marriage is having problems, is it only my fault?"
Hearing this, the man's eyes were filled with disbelief and sorrow; he seemed never to have expected her to say such a thing.
Tell me, what's wrong with me?
Did I tell you to cheat on me?
"It's because you're too busy with work and don't have time for me. I already know I was wrong." The woman softened her voice and tugged at the man's sleeve: "I was really wrong. I've broken up with him completely."
"I was just confused for a moment, I don't know what happened to me."
“You can’t deny all the good I’ve done for you in the past just because of this one mistake. Think about our parents, think about our daughter.”
The woman lowered her head and sobbed, "I was really wrong."
The man seemed to have suffered a great blow, and he spoke with difficulty: "When you were cheating on me, didn't you think about our parents? Didn't you think about our daughter?"
"What will people think of her in the future? What will they think of her having a mother like that?"
"It's good that you don't say anything. I've already cut ties completely." The woman looked up at his head, reached out and touched it, tears streaming down her face like a victim.
"Really, we'll live our lives well, and it won't happen again."
"Trust me, Huai Jin."
Ji Huaijin pushed her away: "I can't do it. You disgust me right now."
"I feel like throwing up just thinking about what you've done."
Ji Huaijin broke down and punched his chest; his wife's betrayal shattered his worldview.
"Wanyi, how could you do this to me?"
The man's low growl of despair.
He still has a happy family today.
But he accidentally saw his wife's phone, and a man sent him a video. In the video, his serene and beautiful wife looked like that.
A piece of his heart collapsed.
The veins on the back of his hand were bulging. He tried his best to control his emotions, but he was still devastated.
Feng Wanyi panicked: "Huaijin, don't do this... I only did it once."
"Get out!" the man roared angrily as she was about to touch him again.
Feng Wanyi was stung by the disdain in his eyes.
"I only made this small mistake, why are you holding onto it so tightly? Didn't you say you loved me?"
Why can't you forgive me?
Ji Huaijin acted as if he were meeting her for the first time: "This little mistake?"
"That's what you think?"
The woman fell silent.
She also knew that this was not a single mistake; their marriage had developed cracks.
She knew it was wrong, but she was just momentarily confused and couldn't resist the temptation.
"I want a divorce."
"I will not get a divorce."
Without a second thought, the woman shook her head and refused, breaking down in tears: "I can't get a divorce, Huaijin, you can't do this. We've been together for so many years, and we have a daughter. I can't get a divorce."
Ji Huaijin's face was ashen.
Ji Huaizhi's ears twitched, and he turned his head to see his little niece coming out of the room.
Just as she was about to speak, he stepped forward, covered her mouth, and carried her into his room.
"Uncle, Mom and Dad are arguing," the little girl said with wide eyes and a pout. "I'm so scared."
Ji Huaizhi lifted her onto the bed with one arm: "Let adults handle their own affairs."
"Go to sleep."
“I don’t want my parents to fight. My friend’s parents fought and separated. She has now been sent to her grandma’s house.”
The girl didn't understand anything; she just held her uncle's hand in fear.
His eyes were filled with fear.
Ji Huaizhi patted her head. Children don't understand anything; hearing that their parents are separated makes them feel like the sky is falling.
"Shushu, even if they separate, they are still your mom and dad, that will never change."
"I don't want them to separate." The child didn't understand why his parents wanted to separate.
She just wants her parents to be together forever.
"Go to sleep," Ji Huaizhi said, stroking her head to lull her to sleep.
~
The original owner and Ji Huaijin were brothers, and he was 15 years younger than Ji Huaijin.
The father and mother of the deceased had a son late in life, and the original owner was spoiled like a young master.
He was a lawless student, and even the teachers couldn't control him.
Only Ji Huaijin can keep him in check.
This older brother was also what he feared most.
The two brothers are quite different in age, but they have a very good relationship. As long as this little tagalong is obedient, Ji Huaijin is happy to spoil him.
When the original owner was in junior high school, her parents couldn't control her, and she was always fighting or having early romantic relationships at school.
Since his parents were getting old and he couldn't control them, Ji Huaijin simply let him move into his house so he could keep a close eye on them.
That's why the original owner discovered that her brother had been cheated on.
He overheard it, and in his youthful arrogance, he immediately went up and beat up Feng Wanyi.
No one reacted in time.
What was even more unexpected was that Feng Wanyi was pregnant.
Because of this, Feng Wanyi insisted that the child in her belly was Ji Huaijin's, and kept shouting that the original owner was a murderer.
If Ji Huaijin wants a divorce, she will call the police.
The original owner was already fifteen years old, which will definitely have an impact on him in the future.
So Ji Huaijin gritted his teeth and swallowed his anger.
The original owner was even angrier and was about to attack Feng Wanyi when Ji Huaijin sent her back to her parents' house.
Because there were too many things to do, I sent my daughter there as well.
The original owner was angry that Ji Huaijin wouldn't divorce her. When she heard him ask her to go back, she even cursed him as a cuckold and said he liked being cuckolded.
Ji Huaijin knew he was a scoundrel.
I gave him a good scolding and told him to behave himself.
The original owner felt wronged, believing that his good intentions had been taken for granted.
I think he still cares about that shameless woman.
He even disliked his niece.
He even said that Ji Shu might not be his biological child. He couldn't physically assault a three- or four-year-old child, but he could verbally attack him.
When Mom and Dad weren't around, she said she was a bastard. Your mother is shameless and you're not a child of the Ji family.
Ji Shu was naturally shy.
