Chapter 10 When the Playboy Turns Over a New Leaf

Chapter 10 When the Playboy Turns Over a New Leaf

Now that the company has been handed over to the eldest son, Mr. and Mrs. Ji sometimes go on trips, but they still worry about their youngest son, Ji Huaizhi.

But now that they've gotten their marriage certificate, everything is going well, and he hasn't caused any trouble outside.

“This private restaurant is pretty good. I’ve been meaning to bring you here before… but I never had the chance,” Ji Huaizhi said.

Ji Yanzhi chuckled: "You're planning to bring your younger brother and sister-in-law, aren't you?"

Ji Huaizhi neither admitted nor denied it.

Liao Zhuxin looked up at him and smiled gently.

"Brother Ji, Brother Ji, come quick!" Fang Yu came out to greet them.

Before even entering the private room, Fang Yu said, "Sister-in-law, the dishes have been ordered. They're all your favorites, just as Brother Ji requested."

"We rough old men can do whatever we want."

Liao Zhuxin said shyly, "Don't worry about us, I can't eat much by myself."

When I went inside, I saw that all the dishes on the table were indeed my favorites, and I couldn't even find the green peppers that I dislike.

While eating, Ji Huaizhi chatted with them, but he didn't forget to take care of Liao Zhuxin.

Liao Zhuxin also behaved herself and didn't make a fuss. When she saw that the tea in front of them was almost gone, she asked someone to refill it.

"Very good, the prospects you mentioned are indeed promising. But don't work hard only for a few days and then slack off for a few days." Ji Yanzhi was happy to see that his younger brother had become sensible.

All of this is thanks to my younger brother and sister-in-law.

As the older brother, I'm wondering if I should send him something else.

"Fang Yu, you've been working hard lately. When Ji Huaizhi is hanging out with his friends, you're the one I trust the most." Ji Yanzhi offered tea instead of wine.

“I don’t trust anyone else. They’re too restless and their eyes aren’t pure. I can see that only you truly consider Huai Zhi a friend.”

Fang Yu felt quite embarrassed after hearing this.

He was also very happy: "Brother Ji, you're being too polite. Huaizhi and I are good brothers."

"Then you'll have to keep an eye on him when he acts impulsively in the future."

"Absolutely." Fang Yu patted his chest.

Fang Yu hasn't been scolded much lately, and his family says he and Ji Huaizhi have calmed down.

Seeing that it was about time, Liao Zhuxin whispered in Huaizhi's ear, "I'm going to the restroom."

Ji Huaizhi wanted to go with her, but Liao Zhuxin stopped him, saying, "You stay here with me, I can go by myself."

Liao Zhuxin felt a tightness in her chest, a feeling that had been constant since she became pregnant. Her mother-in-law said it was a normal reaction.

After washing my hands at the sink, I looked up and saw a familiar face.

The other person smiled broadly, clearly delighted: "Zhuxin, is it really you? I thought I was seeing things."

Liao Zhu thought that Huai Zhi already had a misunderstanding, so it was best not to have too much contact with him: "What a coincidence, Senior Brother Zhang, I'll go first..."

Zhang Heng interrupted, "Did you come alone? Long time no see, let's have dinner together sometime?"

"I came with my husband," Liao Zhuxin said softly.

Zhang Heng's face stiffened: "You married him?"

"Yes, I'll head over there now." Liao Zhuxin prepared to leave.

But Zhang Heng was unwilling to give up: "Um... is he good to you now? To be honest, I'm very surprised that you married him."

“After all…after all, he treated you before…” Zhang Heng didn’t finish his sentence: “Mainly because your condition wasn’t very good before.”

So why did you marry him?

Is he really that good?

Liao Zhuxin was about to say that he was treating her very well now when she unexpectedly saw Huaizhi appear behind him.

"You don't need to worry about that. I will take care of my wife myself." Ji Huaizhi's tone was sharp.

He looked at Liao Zhuxin and said, "Come here."

Liao Zhuxin went over and took his hand, hoping he wouldn't misunderstand.

Zhang Heng gritted her teeth when she saw him. If it weren't for this man, she would be standing next to him.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say he stole her away: "If you had cherished her, she wouldn't have been so heartbroken and devastated before, looking so haggard and desperate..."

"Senior Brother Zhang Heng." Liao Zhuxin could feel the man's hand trembling.

"Senior Brother Zhang Heng, Huai Zhi and I had a fight before, but we cleared up the misunderstanding and made up. If our relationship wasn't good, we wouldn't have gotten married."

"I'd like to invite you to my wedding next month."

After saying that, Liao Zhuxin didn't even look at him and left with Ji Huaizhi's hand.

She didn't want him to know how pathetic she had been before.

I happened to run into my senior today, which helped me clear up the misunderstanding with her.

"Why did it take so long? Were you arguing with someone?" Ji Yanzhi seemed to have heard some noise.

"No, I just ran into an acquaintance and invited him to my wedding next month," Liao Zhuxin said somewhat guiltily.

She glanced at Ji Huaizhi and noticed that there was something else in the way he was looking at her.

"I'll go back with Fang Yu. You take your sister-in-law back first," Ji Yanzhi said to her younger brother.

Ji Huaizhi: "Even if you don't say anything, I'll still send her back."

After getting into the car, Liao Zhuxin smiled ingratiatingly at him and said, "Huaizhi."

Ji Huaizhi glanced at her but said nothing. Liao Zhuxin blushed and called out "husband".

I glanced at his expression and noticed he was smiling; he seemed to be in a good mood.

Liao Zhuxin breathed a sigh of relief.

Once they got home, she suddenly didn't want him to leave: "Huaizhi, were all those things you said before because of Zhang Heng?"

"I haven't had much contact with Zhang Heng, so why would you misunderstand me and him?"

Seeing that she seemed ready for a long talk, Ji Huaizhi sat down and said, "He likes you."

Liao Zhuxin didn't talk about Zhang Heng's relationship and went straight to the point: "Mengjiao said before that she called you. Did her words make you misunderstand?"

Ji Huaizhi shook his head and picked up an orange from the table to peel.

"It's not Wang Mengjiao. She's just a woman who loves to talk big and fools people. I wouldn't believe her."

Liao Zhuxin asked in confusion, "What is that?"

"Your good friend Yang Xi sent me a few photos." Ji Huaizhi took out his phone, tapped the screen, and handed it to her.

"Take your time to look at it yourself; the chat history might already be there."

Liao Zhuxin took it and gently slid her finger across the screen.

The entire page was filled with messages Yang Xi sent to Ji Huaizhi, including daily morning greetings and some revealing photos of her.

"What has Brother Ji been up to lately?"

"Brother Ji, can you help me take a look at this? I bought two pieces of clothing and I don't know which one to keep."

Below are two suggestive photos of her.

"Brother Ji, have you been busy lately? It's so hard to find a job after graduation (crying). I really envy Zhuxin. She can enjoy life with you right after graduation. It's a pity that she doesn't appreciate it and doesn't understand your good intentions at all."

The more Liao Zhuxin scrolled up, the more alarmed she became.

She had no idea that her friend would do such a thing.

She flipped through the pages too quickly, and the next part was about their time at school. It turned out that she had been secretly messaging Ji Huaizhi since then.

Even though Ji Huaizhi had set her to "Do Not Disturb" and never responded to her, she persisted in sending him messages, just like clocking in for work every day.

Especially after she and Huaizhi had a fight, she would take the opportunity to send a lot of messages to Ji Huaizhi.

There are photos of her or photos of her going out for drinks with Ji Huaizhi.
