Chapter 14 The Ungrateful Man Who Sold His Sisters to Escape the Mountains
Zhang Xiaoxiao rolled her eyes: "I feel like it's more than that. It seems like your brother's business is quite large."
"But doing such a big business must require a lot of capital. I remember your family was very poor, living deep in the mountains."
Ji Xiang: "My brother borrowed money for his business, and the village chief and the others haven't paid it back yet."
Upon hearing Ji Xiang's words, Zhang Xiaoxiao exclaimed "Ah!"
I feel a bit disappointed and regretful, since I'm still in debt.
Ji Xiang felt something was off: "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing." Zhang Xiaoxiao's eyes darted around, a plan forming in her mind. She said to Ji Xiang in a flattering tone, "Xiangxiang."
"Um?"
"Your brother wants you to study accounting, can I go too?" Zhang Xiaoxiao coaxed her.
"That way, the two of us will have each other's company and won't have to be apart."
"They are all grown men, and I, a small girl, feel very uncomfortable."
Ji Xiang: "You don't need to worry about that. My brothers said they still need to recruit girls."
"You won't be the only girl then."
Zhang Xiaoxiao frowned, feeling that she was being ungrateful, but her tone softened a bit: "Don't you want to come with me?"
"Yes, I want to. But my brother has already made arrangements; he must have his reasons for doing so." Ji Xiang felt she was right.
"It seems like there's a severe shortage of people right now, so everyone's taking turns learning."
Zhang Xiaoxiao pursed her lips impatiently, rolled her eyes, and went straight to sleep.
It's all been a waste of time talking.
wood.
Ji Xiang guessed that she was angry since she hadn't replied: "Smile?"
"Xiaoxiao?"
Seeing that she was ignoring him, he had no choice but to turn over and rest.

Ji Huaizhi led Zhang Da and Zhang Er to the commercial street of Lion City. There were many shops and fashionable clothes, many of which were eye-catching.
Zhang Da and Zhang Er were completely stunned.
Ji Huaizhi: "Today I'll take you on a tour. Observe carefully. I'll ask you questions when we get back to the guesthouse."
Upon hearing this, the two felt a strange sense of tension, like when they were in school and about to be called upon by the teacher to answer questions.
This street is known as the "Civilized Market" of Quanzhou, and it is indeed a bit safer than Guangzhou.
At least there aren't as many robberies here.
The market here isn't as big as the one in Guangzhou, but the merchants here are very competitive, and their service is much better than that of the wholesalers in Guangzhou.
Same as always.
Ji Huaizhi first took them sightseeing for a whole day.
The two of them had been observing how Ji Huaizhi communicated with these people and what questions he asked.
Zhang Er may have figured out something.
They started actively engaging in conversations with other businesses.
He kept taking notes in his small notebook.
Ji Huaizhi observed both of their performances.
During the meal, Ji Huaizhi asked them what their opinions were.
Zhang Er coughed lightly: "I've never been to Guangzhou, so I don't know what the wholesale markets there are like, but I've found that both wholesale and transportation are very convenient here."
"Moreover, there are many factories here, and there are factories behind these shops. I feel that it would be more suitable to get the goods directly from the factories."
Ji Huaizhi nodded: "You're right. They've implemented a front store and back factory model here. I checked the data, and there are more than 20,000 clothing manufacturers here."
"And that doesn't even include those small workshops."
The two of them were shocked by Ji Huaizhi's words.
"I'll take you to Pingzhou again tomorrow. Let's eat." Ji Huaizhi picked up his chopsticks, gesturing for them to eat.
Zhang Er looked at the two bowls of soup in front of him in confusion: "Is this clear soup wontons?"
"What kind of soup is this?"
Just then, the waiter brought over the fried dough sticks and overheard his question and answer: "Are the three of you from out of town?"
"This is our local specialty, meat swallow. The outer skin is made of pounded pork and starch, and the inside is filled with meat filling. It has a smooth and chewy texture, and the soup is fresh and delicious!"
The waiter then pointed to the soup he mentioned: "This is rice noodle soup, not soup."
"This porridge is made from sweet potato starch and contains a soup made from many ingredients such as shrimp, oysters, clams, and mussels. Everyone who has tried it says it tastes delicious."
"These fried dough sticks go perfectly with this dish, you should try them first."
Ji Huaizhi had already picked up a fried dough stick and started eating.
Zhang Er and Zhang Da were both confused.
"The food of Southerners is really particular," Zhang Er exclaimed.
"So many ingredients in one soup, even the wrappers for these wontons are made of meat."
Thinking about the food at home makes me feel a little conflicted.
"This is a local specialty; dietary habits vary greatly from place to place," Ji Huaizhi said casually.
The Pingzhou Comprehensive Wholesale Market offers a wide variety of goods, including daily necessities, food, fresh produce, hardware, and building materials, as well as clothing, but it's clearly not on the same level as the Lion Wholesale Market from yesterday.
Although it is very prosperous, there are significant problems with order, environment, sanitation, and management.
Such cluttered places are more prone to accidents.
For example, Zhang Da's honest and simple appearance made him a target of the local thugs.
I had just come out of the restroom when I saw Zhang Er and Brother Ji waiting for me ahead. When I went up to them, someone stopped me.
"What are you doing?" Zhang's eyelids twitched.
"Brother, Pingzhou requires a head fee, right? Have you paid it?" The man's thick, side-swept bangs partially concealed his identity.
He tossed his hair and patted his large chest.
"You know you'll get beaten if you don't know the rules, right?"
When Ji Huaizhi came over with a cigarette in his mouth, he kicked the leader to the ground: "You dare to touch my man, you bastard? What gang do you belong to?"
Ji Huaizhi stunned the group.
The main thing is that his demeanor doesn't seem like that of a hoodlum.
"My older brother is Brother Xiang from Pingzhou! You dare hit me? You're finished!"
The man covered his buttocks, looking somewhat flustered.
This man seems like someone I can't afford to mess with.
"Brother Xiang? Damn, even a scoundrel's subordinate is a scoundrel?" Ji Huaizhi slapped the man on the head again, turning his head completely in a different direction:
"So what if I hit you? I'd still hit him even if he were here!"
"Boss, what should we do? He doesn't seem afraid of Brother Xiang?" The underlings behind him supported him: "What should we do? It seems like we've messed with someone we shouldn't have."
"Nonsense! How could I not tell!" But not wanting to lose face, he straightened up and pointed at him, asking:
"What gang are you involved with?"
Ji Huaizhi took a deep drag on his cigarette and stepped forward with the cigarette butt in his hand.
The group of people were so frightened that they took a step back.
"You're asking me?" The ruthlessness in Ji Huaizhi's eyes sent chills down one's spine. "Why don't you go ask your Brother Xiang which gang I belong to?"
