Chapter 18 All the Superpowered Individuals in the Class Want Me Dead After My Rebirth
"They want to capture us and use us as food."
After saying that, Xie Jiaqiang found it funny again. They weren't arrested, but they delivered themselves to their doorstep.
Seeing these people wriggling on the ground, Li Guozhong thought for a moment and then asked the question that had been on his mind: "You guys used to stay in the XX villa area?"
Xie Jiaqiang glanced at him, neither admitting nor denying.
"It's getting late, we need to rest. These people are in your hands now." Ji Huaizhi glanced at Li Guozhong.
Call the others and prepare to leave.
Li Guozhong called out to him, "Young man, are you sure they'll turn into zombies?"
Ji Huaizhi turned around: "Why don't you give it a try?"
"That's not necessary."
Tang Bao, seeing Ji Huaizhi about to leave without turning back, reminded him, "Have we forgotten something?"
Ji Huaizhi stopped and seemed to think for a moment before shaking his head: "No, I don't think so."
Li Guozhong and his group rested in the village for one night. The next day, his men found a child hanging from a tree all night.
When they took him down, the child was still difficult to understand.
"Don't touch me! You have no right to touch me!" The child's behavior was strange.
“You’re such an unreasonable kid. If it weren’t for us, you’d still be hanging here.”
The child pursed his lips and remained silent, his eyes burning with anger. He hadn't expected the Supreme Being to treat him this way; after all, he was the Heavenly Dao who ruled over a world.
"May I have your name?"
The child looked up, and the black lines on his face looked rather strange.
Li Guozhong frowned: "What happened to your face? Are you injured?"
"You have no right to know my name." With that, he walked away.
"Captain, this..." Their faces were grim; they had never seen such an unreasonable and domineering child.
"Follow them and see if they're going to find those young men from last night."
They found several weak and thin people in the pigsty, people the villagers had kept as food reserves. These people felt that everyone in the village deserved to die.
Li Guozhong frowned, feeling deeply uncomfortable seeing the skeletons behind the pigsty.
It might be because of the strong smell of blood here, and the roars of zombies nearby.
Fortunately, the protective netting prevented the zombies from getting in, but just to be on the safe side, Li Guozhong still led a few people to eliminate the zombies.
But the moment they left, the villagers used their supernatural powers to burn off the vines covering their bodies.
The veins on their bodies changed color, and their skin began to change as well.
After getting up, Tang Bao glanced at the village: "I told that brother yesterday I would rescue him, but I broke my promise. What should I do?"
"Don't worry, those people like to meddle in other people's business. They've probably already been rescued." Lai Chao said while eating breakfast, and when he looked up, he saw a child coming over.
With noodles in his mouth and eyes narrowed, he said, "What the hell is coming?"
Li Xin placed his hand above his forehead: "Like a child, but quite fast."
Tang Bao suddenly slapped his thigh: "I remember now, Brother Ji, we forgot last night that the child was still stuck in the tree."
Everyone looked at the child who came over with a dark face; his face was sour.
Ji Huaizhi poured the last bit of noodles from the pot into his own bowl: "I didn't forget."
Tang Bao asked with a puzzled look, "Then why didn't you tell me last night?"
"I'm too lazy to go back and untie him."
Before he finished speaking, the child had already walked up to Ji Huaizhi and was looking at him with a resentful expression.
The others were unsure what the child did for a living, so Song Shu tentatively asked, "Do you need me to cook some more noodles?"
“No need, he won’t eat. From now on, just call him Tiantian. He’ll be on the road with you.” Ji Huaizhi finished the last noodle in his bowl and continued, “If there’s any work, give it to him. After all, our team doesn’t keep idle people.”
"We don't support idlers, we don't support idlers," Xuanfeng suddenly mimicked from a tree branch.
Everyone was surprised: "The Phoenix can actually talk?"
"This is the first time we've heard it speak. Xuanfeng, say one more time." Feng Qiao tried to get it to come down by holding its hands, but it ignored her again.
"Ignorant people, that's an immortal fire phoenix, what right do you have to talk?" Tian Tian sneered.
The others exchanged glances, and Lai Chao asked in confusion, "Is he talking to us?"
Chen Peng scoffed, "Otherwise what? You ignorant fool."
"Tian Tian, right? What are those black lines on your face?" Chen Peng dipped his index finger in saliva and tried to wipe his face.
Unexpectedly, he suddenly sprang to attention: "How dare you!"
Chen Peng was startled, mainly because a sudden gust of wind had blew through the grove of trees, causing them to shake violently before disappearing.
“I don’t want to be called Tiantian,” he said angrily to Ji Huaizhi.
"Then let's call him Xiao Tian."
Seeing his mischievous behavior, the others couldn't resist teasing him. As the black phoenix flapped its wings and took flight, a clump of bird droppings landed on Xiao Tian's head.
"Hahahaha, that's bird poop!" Lai Chao laughed wildly. "Do you have a grudge against a black phoenix?"
Xiao Tian's face turned red, then green, then red again.
In the end, he simply wiped it off carefully, showing no disrespect to Xuanfeng whatsoever.
"Can we set off now?" Xie Jiaqiang asked Ji Huaizhi.
The road to the north is still quite long.
"Let's set off later. Someone will be looking for us soon," Ji Huaizhi said casually, putting his hands in his pockets.
Watching Xiao Tian'er get all red in the face from being teased by them on the other end.
"Who is this?" Song Shu frowned, having never seen a child like this before.
"It's just a little thing, don't worry about it too much." Ji Huaizhi's nonchalant attitude made Song Shu take another look.
Sure enough, Li Guozhong's men arrived shortly afterward.
They came to ask Ji Huaizhi and his group for help.
"Save our captain!"
When Ji Huaizhi and his group arrived, they found that the villagers had all turned into zombies, which was unexpected.
Li Guozhong's men suffered heavy losses; some of these zombies possessed dual superpowers, making them somewhat unable to cope.
He sent someone to ask Ji Huaizhi's team for help, not knowing if they would lend a hand. Ji Huaizhi watched all this coldly, not intending to take any action.
Xie Jiaqiang and his team did all the work.
Xiao Tian glanced around: "Useless."
“These are all your people, and you don’t care at all?” Ji Huai said, bowing his head.
Although Xiao Tian didn't feel sorry for them, his eyes were filled with disappointment and frustration. He blamed them for being too weak to even defeat zombies, and he also blamed some humans for being too greedy and heartless.
Li Guozhong breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that they had actually come to help.
The group worked together to wipe out the zombies, leaving Li Guozhong and the others dumbfounded.
Li Xin's water-based ability can produce such a large amount of water, his ice-based ability can freeze so many people at once, and that fast woman can knock off a zombie's head with a single punch—literally knock it off.
