Chapter 2 The Laziest Man in the Countryside 70 (2)
Every morning, the original owner was made to get up with him to do farm work. The original owner was unwilling and did not want to be called a jinx, but was still dragged out by the father. If he did not go out, he would beat him.
The two men, Ji's father and mother, stayed by the side of the original owner while he worked.
Even if you can't get married, you still need to be able to support yourself.
Otherwise, what will the original owner do after they are gone?
We can't let our brothers support us for the rest of our lives.
Besides the eldest son, the second son had become estranged from him, and the third son and his wife hated him to death. The old couple really couldn't let go of their youngest son.
So they forced him to get out of bed.
Even if they fall asleep in the field, you have to wake them up to work.
It was around this time that the elderly couple realized their lazy son seemed to have a problem; he could fall asleep while digging in the field.
When harvesting rice, he lay directly on the sickle, and even though his back was cut, he didn't react at all, as if he had passed out.
We took him to the hospital, but the doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong.
Rumors circulated in the village that the original owner was missing a soul and a spirit, which was why he often fell into a deep sleep.
Finally, his older brother took him to the provincial hospital, where they learned that the original owner of this body was ill.
It's called narcolepsy.
He frequently collapsed suddenly, was excessively sleepy and could not be woken up. After examination, it was concluded that the original owner's excessive sleepiness was getting worse and worse, and he might die in his sleep at any time.
The Ji family remained silent when they heard the news.
The villagers also found it strange, realizing that sleeping too much could cause illness.
I thought the original owner was the laziest person, but it turns out he was actually sick.
When the other two brothers found out about this, they came over and brought money, meaning that since the person was sick, they should go for treatment, and everyone should chip in to pay for it.
However, the original owner refused to go out again.
Continue to confine yourself to the dark, damp room.
Not long after, when his family wasn't looking, he took medicine and died.
A note was left, which read:
I really didn't hear Little Stone crying.
~
After receiving the memories, Ji Huaizhi suddenly felt very sleepy, but only for a moment.
He can still stay awake, but the original owner definitely couldn't control it.
Ji Shitou had already finished the bread, even licking his fingers clean. When Xuanfeng saw this, he covered his head with his wings and said, "How disgusting, how disgusting."
Ji Shitou pointed at Xuanfeng: "Uncle! Die! Eat!"
If Ji Huaizhi wasn't mistaken, Xiao Shitou meant to kill the bird, roast it, and eat it.
There was a noise at the gate to the courtyard outside. Ji Huaizhi picked him up and said, "Stop eating, your parents are back."
Xuanfeng obediently did not go out.
It pecked at the bread crumbs that had fallen on the ground.
When Sister-in-law Ji came in, she was a little anxious. To be honest, she didn't quite trust her brother-in-law. She fell asleep in the blink of an eye, but her own child was a bit naughty. However, she was too busy today to take care of Shitou.
Upon entering the courtyard and seeing her brother-in-law holding her son, she breathed a sigh of relief: "Shitou!"
"Uncle, I've eaten the cake." Little Stone pointed to his mouth.
As soon as his sister-in-law picked him up, she smelled a sweet taste on her son's breath. Had she given him a snack?
"Did your uncle feed you poop? Look how much your uncle loves you." Third Sister-in-law kissed her son, then noticed he was wet and assumed he had been playing in the water.
"I'm changing Shitou's clothes. I'll trouble you to take care of Shitou, little brother."
Ji Huaizhi remained silent, just like the original owner of the body.
Ji's father looked at him with annoyance: "Don't you have a mouth?"
When Ji's mother returned home and saw the cold stove and empty pots, she knew her son hadn't cooked. With a helpless sigh, she went to the kitchen to cook, her trouser legs still wet.
The eldest sister-in-law saw this and went in to help.
The second brother helped his wife in. Although she didn't carry any grain, loading things was still tiring. She was already pregnant and couldn't handle it, and today's workload was so heavy.
"Dad, my wife isn't going tomorrow. I'm so worried something might happen to the baby in her belly," Ji Erge shouted.
Father Ji took a big gulp of cold water by the water vat; it was quite cold because of the rain and his teeth were still a little icy.
He glanced at his second daughter-in-law's expression and hummed in agreement.
Then he looked at Ji Huaizhi and said, "Our family has so many able-bodied people, but two of them don't work. I don't know what the villagers are saying about us."
Ji's father was diligent and couldn't stand lazy people.
But he really couldn't do anything about his youngest son.
Sister-in-law Ji's face grew increasingly grim.
She had already started supporting her stomach with her hands.
Ji Huaizhi frowned: "Take Second Sister-in-law to the hospital."
Brother Ji glanced at his younger brother: "What did you say?"
"Second sister-in-law is not feeling well, take her to the hospital," Ji Huaizhi repeated.
Everyone turned to look at Sister-in-law Ji and realized that her face had lost all color. Brother Ji called out, "Mom."
Mrs. Ji, being experienced, knew that this meant she had upset her baby: "Old Ji, go and get someone to drive the tractor!"
“If you’re not feeling well, just say so. What’s the point of you just enduring it? Does enduring it stop the pain?” Mother Ji asked her third son to bring two clean clothes.
I'll take it to the hospital to change it in a bit.
"If you're not feeling well, you shouldn't work. I reminded you when I started work, why are you showing off?"
Ji Ersao, lacking experience, was so frightened that she burst into tears: "I thought the pain would subside after a while."
"But I can't take it anymore now."
Ji Huaizhi drew a peace charm in the air with one hand and placed it on her body.
It's estimated that my second sister-in-law was already experiencing complications during her pregnancy, and the fall caused her miscarriage.
"You silly woman!" Ji Erge cursed angrily, just as the tractor arrived, he picked her up and put her on it.
"I'll go with you. You watch the house, eldest son." Mother Ji went inside to get money and then hurriedly made arrangements: "Third son, come too, just in case you need to run errands or something."
"Drive slower, you really have to drive slower!" Ji's mother said to the tractor driver.
Ji's father didn't go; three grown men were enough, and someone else needed to keep an eye on the village.
A heavy atmosphere suddenly descended upon the house.
Sister-in-law Ji went to cook first, and Sister-in-law Ji handed the child over to Sister-in-law Ji's two daughters and went in to help.
Ji's father could only sit anxiously under the eaves weaving bamboo.
Ji Huaizhi took the stone and said to Ji Tao and Ji Mei, "Go and change your clothes, don't catch a cold."
"Uncle, we don't have any clothes left. We can just warm ourselves up inside," Ji Tao said casually, carrying her younger brother into the house to warm up by the fire.
Ji Huaizhi had forgotten that at that time, there were still families where two brothers shared the same pair of pants.
He pretended to go inside, took out three pieces of bread, soaked them in a teacup, and mashed them up. There was no such bread around here. "You three can share it."
"Soak the sponge cake in boiling water." Ji Mei's eyes lit up.
Ji Tao, being quite sensible, asked, "Uncle, where did this come from?"
She knew perfectly well that her uncle had no money.
"I helped someone out, and they gave it to me," Ji Huaizhi said casually. "Let's share it."
Seeing that her sister hadn't moved, Ji Mei could only swallow her saliva.
It smells so sweet! Is this what sponge cake tastes like?
"Let's eat together when we have dinner later," Ji Tao said, thinking of her family.
Ji Huaizhi wanted to give more, but adults are not as easy to fool as children.
