Chapter 21 Son of Sin 21

Chapter 21 Son of Sin 21

Two things happened in the village the next day: Zhuangniu's wife remarried, and the village chief sent someone to the village to investigate.

Zhuangniu's wife carried only a small package.

She left the child behind, and Zhuangniu's family kept spewing nasty insults. She couldn't take it anymore and turned away.

"What am I supposed to do here? Be your family's laborers for the rest of my life? Dedicate my whole life to your family?"

“The child isn’t just mine; she’s your family’s child. You wouldn’t mistreat her, but I haven’t had a good time in your family.”

Zhuangniu's mother slapped her twice: "You heartless bastard."

"We haven't even blamed you yet! My son's disappearance might just be your doing!"

"Get out of my way! I'm not family anymore. If your family treated me well, would I have left?"

Zhuang Niu's ex-wife pushed her away directly.

Looking at her incredulous expression, he said:

"Are there people like that in your family?"

"You want me to be Zhuangniu's brother's concubine? You feudal remnants, why don't you just die already?"

After saying that, he turned away cruelly.

They completely ignored the child's crying.

So many people have died in the village now. Although it all seems like a coincidence, some people are still wondering what's going on.

Everyone guessed that Zhuang Niu probably died somewhere unknown to others.

Their whole family bullies people, why should she waste her whole life here?

The woman left with the slap mark on her face.

It felt as if countless shackles had been removed from his body.

Er Ma's wife looked at the woman's resolute back with a hint of envy.

That's great.

Someone noticed her gaze and tentatively asked, "Er Ma's wife? You want to remarry too?"

Qiaofen'er looked away: "Why would I remarry?"

His eyes were full of disdain: "A good woman doesn't serve two husbands. She's really disgracing us women."

"I could never do something so shameless."

The others were embarrassed, not expecting such a strong reaction from her.

“You can’t say that. This strong ox is gone. She can’t wait forever, can she?” The others thought she was going too far.

There are women who remarry in this village too.

Wouldn't saying that immediately offend people?

"Yeah, you were practically drooling just now. If you want to get married, just get married! It's not like you're marrying one of our men, so why are you pretending?"

"Does she really think of herself as a devoted and passionate woman?"

Qiaofen'er: "What are you saying?"

"You can hold more than a sack of potatoes." The woman retorted, "You crave men so much, yet you insist on pretending to be a good woman."

"Who doesn't know that you took the child and went back to your parents' home right after your husband's burial?"

"In the end, you were still kicked out, and now you look down on others."

The two started arguing and then came to blows.

People standing by didn't care when the argument started, but once they got physical, they tried to pull the two apart.

Er Ma's wife looks like a madwoman now. She has lost a lot of weight since her husband died, and she has also developed a more sarcastic and mean expression.

It seems like life isn't going too well for them.

"Alright, I didn't mean to argue with you." The woman realized she had acted impulsively, and she hadn't intended to bully her.

"Let's call it a day." She smoothed her hair, which touched her wound.

That person is ruthless; he went straight for the kill with her.

She even held back when she hit someone.

"What are you pretending to be a good person for? You're bullying a widow like me, just because my husband is gone!" Qiaofen cried and made a scene.

It's just a matter of venting.

They even accidentally injured other people.

The woman frowned: "You're crazy. It's better for a man to die than for you to die yourself, isn't it?"

"Now some people in the village are even envious of you because your husband died! You've really gone mad from being beaten, you deserve a beating!"

Someone pushed her away, telling her to stop talking.

At this moment, the village chief came over with a pipe in his mouth, accompanied by an old woman.

"What's all the noise about?"

"I saw you fighting from afar. A few words would have been enough, why did you have to resort to violence?"

"They stopped arguing, they just exchanged a few words."

"Yes, it's nothing serious."

Someone chuckled and their gaze fell on the old woman next to the village chief.

"Village chief, who is this?"

"Oh right? Not from this area, right?"

The village chief introduced: "This is Granny Qiu. I've noticed that things keep happening in our village. Is it because there's a problem with the feng shui?"

"Let's invite her to come and see, so that everyone won't overthink things."

Although Granny Qiu was thin and small, she looked very capable. Her face was wrinkled in layers, and her eyes were bulging, always scrutinizing the people in front of her.

"Grandma Qiu? Is it Grandma Qiu from the direction of the reservoir?"

"I guess so. I haven't heard of any other Granny Qiu. Many families call on her to come and help when something happens."

Grandma Qiu didn't say anything; she seemed to be able to keep her composure.

"I'll take Grandma Qiu for a walk around the village. Don't crowd around here," the village chief waved his hand.

His expression showed some impatience.

His face was full of expressions that said women were a nuisance.

Granny Qiu looked at Qiaofen: "Your husband just died?"

"Yes, her husband had an accident not long ago, and Granny Qiu is really amazing." Someone agreed.

Er Ma's wife, however, had no other expression on her face, and looked at everyone with displeasure: "I have no money."

"You're ridiculous. I didn't ask you for money. I just figured it out from your face." Granny Qiu frowned and shook her head. "If you keep acting like this, you need to change now, or you'll ruin yourself."

"The two children might also get into trouble."

The others exchanged glances.

Qiaofen was also stunned, and suddenly her expression turned ugly: "What do you mean? Are you cursing my son?"

"You don't have to listen, I'm just giving you a heads-up."

After saying that, he gestured for the village chief to continue walking.

Qiaofen quickly followed up: "Explain yourself clearly."

"In our line of work, we can't speak too clearly. There's no use trying to stop me," Granny Qiu said calmly.

"Then tell me how I should change it?" These are things that you should believe are true rather than false.

She suddenly panicked.

"Don't you understand the need to change this character?"

"As long as it's different from what it used to be, it's a change."

Qiaofen stared blankly at her retreating figure.

The others exchanged glances as they looked at her, wondering, "Is this Granny Qiu really that capable?"

Qiaofen went to work in the fields, looking dazed.

After working for a while, he suddenly dropped the hoe and ran home.

Zhang Qiaofen hasn't lived enough yet. She has two sons. So what if her husband is dead?

When he ran back, he ran into his two sons holding a sickle: "What are you doing?"

"Your sheep are all gone, why are you cutting grass?"

"We're going to kill Ji Huaizhi; he's the one who killed Dad!"
