Chapter 21 The Ungrateful Younger Brother, the Terrible Brother-in-Law 21

Ji Huaizhi remained expressionless.

But seeing Xiao Xu's smug look, he was speechless: "Is this why you took me on a roundabout route?"

Xiao Xu: "You figured that out? Hehe."

"childish."

Ji Huaizhi was taken to the exam by Xiao Xu in the afternoon.

The 736 scientific research and military industrial unit is located deep in the mountains, and it can be said that several mountains in the vicinity are under the jurisdiction of the 736.

I heard there's an armory underground.

There are four new people this time, plus the newly arrived Ji Huaizhi, making a total of five.

Once everyone had arrived, they were each given a backpack: "You will be staying on this mountain for a month."

"These are the things you are allowed to bring in; nothing else is permitted."

“There are wild animals, enemies, and possibly other things on the mountain. The bracelets you are wearing are locators.”

"If you want to give up, press the blue button below, and we will send you back."

"If something unexpected happens and you feel like you're going to die, or if you survive, press the red button and someone will come to rescue you."

"But it can still be considered a failure."

Scan the five of them.

Ji Huaizhi was the youngest, and the other four were selected from various other places through a rigorous process.

"There are no rules this time. You just have to stay on the mountain for a month and come out alive."

"Set off."

Upon hearing this, the others immediately grabbed their backpacks and ran into the mountains.

Only Ji Huaizhi slowly walked in with his backpack.

The rolling mountains inspire awe and fear.

Ji Huaizhi remained expressionless. Here, he could no longer use the space, because there were many eyes watching from an unknown place.

He has been under surveillance ever since he arrived at Area 736 with Feng Jun yesterday.

This feeling isn't pleasant.

"Go and investigate his background again, all of it."

Chen Minglong said expressionlessly, and Xiao Mi nodded without asking why.

The man who had just spoken to the newcomer walked up to Chen Minglong and asked, "Is that the newcomer you stole?"

"What do you mean by 'robbery'? He followed me willingly; he's not blind."

The man chuckled and offered Chen Minglong a cigarette from his pack: "The kid is a bit too young; it's not suitable for him to take this exam with them."

Chen Minglong: "We have to see how capable he is."

"Tell your men to keep a close eye on him, and if anything happens, bring him out first."

"It's also a kind of experience."

The man, a cigarette dangling from his lips, chuckled, "He really is Chen Yanwang (a notorious villain)."

The ground beneath my feet was soft and muddy, and as soon as I entered, I felt enveloped in a chill.

The surrounding trees resembled twisted monsters, their branches intertwined in a dense, impenetrable mass, occasionally rustling with the sound of leaves.

This deep mountain area is very dangerous.

Liu Shuai and Zhang Youwei's class was physical education.

He stood listlessly at the edge of the playground: "Zhang Youwei, how could someone who was perfectly healthy just suddenly die?"

Why so suddenly?

Zhang Youwei remained silent, sitting on the steps of the playground watching the people playing basketball.

"Zhang Youwei, I'm feeling unwell."

Their former best friend suddenly met with an accident, and they were actually scared.

They even speculated, in a conspiracy theory, that he might have been retaliated against after watching the video.

When the bell rang, Lao Yu's eyes were still a little red when he returned to the classroom. His gaze fell on the empty seats in the last row, and the sadness in his heart welled up again.

Zhang Youwei also looked over.

This desk used to be empty because he skipped class, but from now on, the person who will occupy this spot will never again slack off during class.

"Jiang Xinyi's out of school, aren't you leaving yet?"

"You can go now."

"Let's hurry up and go, someone will be coming to inspect the classroom later."

Jiang Xinyi only started packing her things after the classroom was empty. A gust of wind blew by, flipping open the draft paper on the table, which was covered with countless sentences:

Ji Huaizhi, I hate you!

As I was about to go downstairs, I glanced at the door of the classroom across the street.

After Ji Huaizhi left, Qin Shuang stopped going out to set up her stall and often stared blankly at the empty room at home.

When Qin's parents learned of Ji Huaizhi's accident, they came to take care of Qin Shuang for a few days.

I was afraid the couple would be too sad, but people who are alive still have to live their lives.

What's puzzling is that they cremated the body in Jihuai so quickly.

When Ji Renyi returned, he saw her staring blankly at Huaizhi's room. She sat next to Qin Shuang with her hand on Qin Shuang's stomach before she came to her senses.

"You're back?"

"Hmm, you're thinking of getting pregnant?"

"Didn't we say we wouldn't mention it?" Though she said that, her eyes revealed a hint of nostalgia: "Now that no one makes me angry, it's actually quite strange."

"Hearing other people's words of comfort made me feel unlucky."

After all, Ji Huaizhi didn't really die.

Ji Renyi: "Don't the others know this?"

Qin Shuang sighed, "I wonder how he is now, whether he's used to it or not."

“When he left, I told him that the place was not like home, and that he should know when to back down.”

"I hope he remembers."

Ji Huaizhi was currently fighting a large wild boar with a dagger in his hand, sweat streaming down his face, his eyes fixed on the beast.

He's not the type to back down.

The wild boar pawed at the ground with its front hooves and charged fiercely toward Ji Huaizhi.

Ji Huaizhi flipped over and sat directly on the wild boar's back. The dagger couldn't pierce the boar's tough hide, and its thick, stiff, dark brown bristles stood upright like a very hard suit of armor.

The dagger pierced the wild boar, enraging it.

A deep roar echoed through the mountains and forests.

Ji Huaizhi gritted his teeth and endured the violent shaking and jolts, while the wild boar was determined to throw him off.

Drones and cameras in the woods recorded the scene, which the group watched from the recording room.

The wild boar was huge; it looked like it could crush the child with a single stomp.

The others felt a pang of sympathy watching the child's actions.

"If he falls, he'll be trampled to death by wild boars. Get the people nearby ready to rescue him," the leader ordered, frowning.

Chen Minglong stopped the people around him from using the walkie-talkie: "Wait a little longer."

“This kid has a lot of hidden weapons on him; even this wild boar might not be a match for him.” Feng Jun’s tone was somewhat sarcastic.

The others frowned: "Aren't we not allowed to bring other things? This isn't fair to them."

The instructor who escorted them in explained, "They were all checked when they went in, and they didn't bring anything in except the backpacks we provided."

"So there are no hidden weapons." The man looked at Director Feng: "So, Master Feng, please don't say that."

"Anyone who didn't know better would think I gave him special treatment!"

Xiao Xu then spoke up: "Yes, he left all his things with me and didn't bring anything in."

Everyone looked at the screen again.

Ji Huaizhi held on tightly to the wild boar, a dagger clenched between his teeth.

He looked disheveled, but his eyes were resolute.

When he saw the wild boar about to crash into a tree, he took out his dagger and plunged it directly into the boar's eye. The boar screamed sharply, and the sound carried far through the forest.

The pain made him slam harder, and he began to go berserk.

Everyone watching the monitor held their breath as he threw something out.

It was then stuck into the wild boar's other eye.

"Look, look, what did I tell you?" Feng Jun became slightly agitated.

"I knew this kid had a hidden weapon on him."

Noticing the strange looks he was getting, Feng Jun asked, puzzled, "What? You can't bring anything else in this situation, otherwise it's unfair to the others!"

Xiao Xu was speechless: "Teacher Feng, why don't you take a look at what he threw?"

Feng Jun looked back at the screen.

The wild boar was squealing pitifully and its movements in the forest became even more intense; if it were to collide with it, it would likely be seriously injured.

Ji Huaizhi seized the opportunity and took another branch, stabbing it directly into the wild boar's mouth.

Just as it was about to fall, they picked up another rock and smashed it hard on the wild boar's head, breaking its tusks.

The wild boar collapsed to the ground, convulsing and bleeding.

He removed the dagger from his eye and plunged it viciously into the wild boar's neck.

With gritted teeth and a burst of strength, he slit the wild boar's throat.

Blood splattered on his face, but Ji Huaizhi didn't even blink.

That ruthlessness was terrifying.
