Chapter 23 Bad Dad 23
"Brother Chao, are you really not going to take me with you?" She looked at him weakly. He had already taken her to the hospital, which proved that he also had his own thoughts.
"I really can't take you with me. I've been so busy lately, and I don't even have a place to stay."
The man thought for a moment and then said, "I'll come pick you up once I've settled in."
Wei Wei didn't move; she had just agreed to lend her the money, but hadn't given it to her yet.
As if he had just remembered, Zhang Chao pulled out a few hundred-yuan bills from his pocket: "Here, you can use these first."
"Eat something good and get well soon, then I'll come pick you up."
Wei Wei was stunned. That's all?
Should we let her eat something better?
She just stared at him, and when Zhang Chao saw that she wasn't moving, he tried to pull his gaze away again.
Wei Wei had no choice but to reach out and take it: "Brother Chao, I want to know why you changed your mind."
Zhang Chao took a deep drag on his cigarette: "You can't bring your daughter with you. I can't be this big bastard."
"You're backing out because I brought Wei Yi with me today?"
Zhang Chao nodded: "I took you away because you and Zhou Shenghong got divorced, that's fine, but what does it mean if I take his daughter with me?"
"Think about it."
Wei Wei pressed down on his hand on the steering wheel: "Wait."
“My daughter is young, Chaozi…”
"Are you crazy? She's young, but she's not an adult yet." Zhang Chao shook his head: "I'm no good, so I'm not taking her with me."
"Call me when you've thought it through."
As Wei Wei watched him leave, she turned back to look at her daughter, who was standing downstairs, too afraid to go up.
She really didn't want to bring her daughter, but Zhou Shenghong's previous behavior made her hesitant to entrust her only daughter to him.
But......
She clutched her stomach, looking unwell.
Let's focus on getting better first; maybe then we'll find a way out.
After having an abortion, she took Zhou Weiyi back home, only to find Zhou Shenghong sitting on the sofa.
When they saw him sit up, the mother and daughter were startled, thinking he was better and could fight back.
Zhou Shenghong was angered by her; his gaze fell on her stomach, and his face darkened.
Where is the baby in your belly?
Wei Wei lowered her eyes: "I had an abortion. We can't raise a child like this. Do you think I wanted to?"
Zhou Shenghong threw something directly at Zhou Weiyi, who screamed in fright and dodged away.
"Do you know this is my last child? How dare you come back?"
"What? He doesn't want you anymore?"
Zhou Shenghong was furious, but he didn't dare to get up; it was a miracle he even managed to sit up.
"That bastard! He says he treats me like a brother, but the things he does make me want to kill him and you!"
Wei Wei: "I have no choice. Keeping this child will drag us down."
Zhou Shenghong roared, "Do you think I don't know you? You aborted the child and now you want to find someone else!"
"I'm telling you, you can leave, but you'd better leave the only one behind!"
"And you just wait until I'm better. I'll make sure you and that son of a bitch Zhang Chao are both dead. I thought he was a bit dim-witted but actually quite righteous. He's just getting revenge on me!"
He now realizes what kind of brotherly relationship they had.
He used to make them suffer so much from drinking and gambling; he was truly blind to believe his nonsense!
Zhou Weiyi called out "Mom" in a panic.
Wei Wei is in a state of great turmoil right now; she knows how vengeful Zhou Shenghong is.
If he never gets better, that would be good, then she wouldn't be afraid.
...
While Ji Huaizhi was working in his office, Ji Fangqin was lying in the lounge playing video games.
It's so boring, so dull.
Her dad even took her to a meeting, which almost made her fall asleep.
Suddenly a message came in on her phone, and her game page went gray.
She opened the message speechlessly, and could tell from the vulgar language that it was sent by Zhou Weiyi.
The words above are offensive and clearly show that she is having a very difficult time.
Ji Fangqin got up and took a picture by the window, which included a beautiful afternoon tea cake that her father's assistant had prepared for her.
He tapped his finger on the screen and raised an eyebrow: "I'll be jealous of you to death."
Hearing an unfamiliar voice outside, Ji Fangqin rolled her eyes and peeked out to observe secretly.
Li Qiao was there to make her presence known; she was afraid that President Ji would forget about her.
She will be very sad to lose this big spender.
"Mr. Ji, I came to see you while I was shopping nearby." He said, leaving a small box with him.
It's a pair of cufflinks.
I bought it a long time ago, but I never had the chance to give it to him. When I saw it, I thought it would suit him perfectly.
"There are office buildings all around. Are you looking for a job while you're strolling around?" Ji Huaizhi saw through her little scheme at a glance.
Li Qiao smiled and squinted: "Don't expose me."
"Would you do me the honor of having dinner with me tonight? I'll pay."
Ji Fangqin covered her eyes with her hands. Is this the canary that her father has been keeping around lately?
She had heard of it.
She looks quite young and isn't as annoying as Wei Wei.
"Not today, I have to take care of the baby," Ji Huaizhi said softly. "I'll contact you later."
Li Qiao was taken aback when she heard that he was going to take the child. It was indeed unfortunate. She didn't linger or say goodbye and prepared to leave.
After all, it wouldn't be good if the kids saw it and it caused trouble for President Ji.
She does have professional ethics.
Ji Fangqin stepped forward as she saw her about to leave: "What? Isn't Dad going to introduce me?"
Ji Fangqin's voice was childish, and both of them looked over.
Li Qiao was a little embarrassed: "Hello, I'm an employee of President Ji."
Ji Fangqin stepped forward and looked her over for a while: "Liar."
"Are you Dad's new girlfriend?"
"Qinqin," Ji Huaizhi called out.
Ji Fangqin pouted: "Why are you hiding this from me? Are you afraid I won't agree?"
"You're overthinking it," Ji Huaizhi said helplessly.
It's true that the kid is overthinking things. Li Qiao certainly knows his identity, but there's no need for him to say it.
“You look much better than Wei Wei.” Ji Fangqin was probably too bored, so she started chatting with Li Qiao.
Li Qiao looked at President Ji, and upon receiving his casual glance, listened attentively to what the little benefactor was saying.
Wei Wei?
Mr. Ji's ex-girlfriends?
“That Wei Wei is my father’s ex-wife, they’re divorced.” Ji Fangqin asked curiously, “Would you marry my father? Wouldn’t that mean he’s been married three times?”
Li Qiao gave an awkward laugh: "No way..."
Has President Ji already gotten divorced?
Then she wouldn't be a mistress anymore, which makes her seem more moral than before.
But not many.
"You don't want to marry my dad? Well, you look so young, how could you be interested in that womanizer of a man?"
Even in front of the big spender, you still have to put on a good show: "President Ji has a lot of personal charm."
Generous and good-looking.
"Your expression looks a bit fake," Ji Fangqin said bluntly, glancing at her father who was working, and then pulling her to the break room.
"Come in and talk."
