Chapter 23: I Took Off My Brother's Green Hat

Chapter 23: I Took Off My Brother's Green Hat

The main reason is that he is becoming more and more like Ji Huaijin in high school.

The way he looked at me was just like how Huai Jin looked at me when he was young, innocent and bright.

As the children were leaving school, Feng Wanyi missed his gaze.

Seeing his daughter run out with her little schoolbag on her back, he went forward to catch her, but she bypassed him and ran to Ji Huaizhi, hugging his leg.

"Uncle, you really came to pick me up today?"

Ji Huaizhi: "Okay, I bought you an egg tart. Eat it before you go back."

Ji Shu was happy: "Thank you, Uncle."

Seeing that she was being ignored, Feng Wanyi suppressed her annoyance and stepped forward: "Shushu, Mom brought you milk tea."

Ji Shu turned around, saw her mother, and then her gaze fell on Zhou Xiang.

“This is a relative from Mom’s side; Shushu will call him Uncle,” Feng Wanyi explained.

Ji Shu shook her head: "I don't know this uncle."

Feng Wanyi lowered her body, and before a large expanse of her chest was exposed, Ji Huaizhi covered Shu Shu's eyes. Feng Wanyi looked up at him with a frown, not understanding his actions.

Zhou Xiang understood, and pulled Feng Wanyi up, coughing softly.

Feng Wanyi lowered her head and understood, then smiled and said softly, "I didn't know you would be coming to pick up the child, so I only bought one cup of milk tea."

Ji Huaizhi: "Shushu is lactose intolerant and can't drink these, have you forgotten?"

Feng Wanyi suddenly remembered that her daughter couldn't eat dairy products before.

She forgot.

Looking down at her daughter, who was holding her uncle's hand and looking at her with her eyes open, she said, "It's okay, Mom, you can drink it yourself. I'm going back with Uncle."

"Mom wants to take you out to eat." She looked up at Ji Huaizhi: "Let's go together, little brother."

"I'm not your brother." Ji Huaizhi lowered his eyes. "Do you want to eat?"

"Is it okay? Will Grandma be angry?" Ji Shu asked.

"meeting."

Upon hearing the word "meeting," Ji Shu pouted and turned to Feng Wanyi, saying, "Next time, my uncle and I are going back."

Hearing Ji Shu refuse, Feng Wanyi was displeased: "You don't need to scare the child. I am the child's mother. Would I harm the child?"

"Besides, I already said you can go too."

“Mom, Uncle didn’t scare me. Grandma doesn’t allow me to eat out anyway. If Dad takes me out to eat, he gets scolded too,” Ji Shu explained.

But Feng Wanyi didn't believe it.

She felt that the Ji family was targeting her.

"I'm also Ji Shu's biological mother. Why are you all so wary of me?"

“You have a criminal record, so what if we’re keeping an eye on you?” Ji Huaizhi’s gaze fell on Zhou Xiang: “You never learn, you dare to bring just anyone in front of Ji Shu.”

"Ji Huaizhi! No matter what, I used to be your sister-in-law. I wasn't bad to you before, was I? Why are you targeting me like this?"

Ji Huaizhi: "The one who's good to me is my brother. You yourself said that he used to be my sister-in-law, so there's no point in saying that now."

Ji Shu waved her hand: "Don't fight, Mom, Grandpa, Grandma, Dad, and Uncle. They didn't target you or say anything bad about you to me."

“You don’t understand anything, they hate me to death.” Feng Wanyi’s voice rose a little.

Fortunately, most of the other children had already left.

Feng Wanyi noticed that her daughter was different now; she cared more about her father's relatives, and her biological mother had become dispensable.

Why do they hate you? What did you do that was so terrible?

Ji Shu looked at him innocently.

Zhou Xiang had already taken a few steps back out of embarrassment.

Feng Wanyi looked at her daughter's innocent face and couldn't say a word.

"Mom, didn't you and Dad separate just because you didn't like each other?" Ji Shu asked again.

Feng Wanyi took a deep breath.

That feeling of shame and embarrassment came back again.

Ji Huaizhi pulled Ji Shu along: "Let's go."

Seeing that the two of them were about to leave, Feng Wanyi followed and said, "Shushu, don't go, stay with your mother."

She could have chosen not to pursue her, but she just couldn't understand why her daughter wouldn't firmly choose her.

She's the mother.

Zhou Xiang said awkwardly, "Why don't we go first and come back to pick up the kids next time?"

Feng Wanyi shook off his hand: "Go away. That's my child. I'm her biological mother. Don't I have the right to take her out for a meal?"

She quickly jogged to catch up, her high heels clicking loudly.

"Ji Huaizhi, stop!" Feng Wanyi almost twisted her ankle.

I held onto the wall and continued to follow.

Ji Shu turned around.

With a look of pity in her eyes, she said, "Uncle, Mom fell down."

Ji Huaizhi stopped sighing. All the cubs cared most about their mother. She had already very sensibly shown that she didn't miss her that much.

But Ji Shu's ordeal was closely related to her mother.

"I'm her biological mother. What's wrong with me taking her out for a meal? Aren't your family members being a bit too domineering?"

After catching up, Feng Wanyi grabbed Ji Shu's schoolbag and pulled it in front of her, almost causing Ji Shu to trip.

But Feng Wanyi didn't see it: "I'm taking her out to eat today."

"No one can stop me, not even your brother calling me."

Ji Shu was frightened by her mother.

She pursed her lips, on the verge of tears, and said, "Don't be angry. I'll call Grandma and we'll go eat."

"You dislike me too?" Feng Wanyi frowned. "I'm your own mother. They're just trying to sow discord. What do you mean by 'just come eat with me'?"

Is it really that unfair of you to have dinner with me?

Ji Huaizhi watched as she angrily pulled at Ji Shu's schoolbag, causing her to stagger and lose her balance.

He reached out to protect Shushu, placing his hand on Shushu's ear: "Why are you taking your anger out on the child?"

"Given what you've done, it's already a favor that our family still lets you look after Shushu," Ji Huaizhi said coldly.

"I'm just afraid that someone will come up and pull my hair and slap me halfway through my meal."

Feng Wanyi's eyes sharpened: "You saw me at the mall that day?"

"That person is you!"

“Yes, I wasn’t the only one at the mall that day; my brother and Shushu were there too.” Ji Huaizhi pulled Shushu aside, looking at her shocked expression, and continued:

“I asked him if he wanted to help his ex-wife, but he said it wasn’t necessary.”

Feng Wanyi was stunned.

Ji Huaizhi tilted his head: "Do you still want to hear it? I think our family has been more than kind. Isn't this outcome your own doing?"

"You've always been trying to make your presence felt in our family, and you'll always be a thorn in our side."

“You know yourself that with so many men around you, you also know that my brother will not forgive you. You are trying to drag this out and affect his life.”

Even after the divorce, your presence is still felt everywhere in our family life.

Feng Wanyi arrogantly raised her chin: "If I'm not having a good time, your family won't have one either."

"I'm already like this, so it doesn't matter anymore. If your brother gets used to my presence, he might make up with me. Even if we don't make up, I haven't lost anything. I don't lack men."

"But I'm really upset that your brother got divorced so easily and even kept his daughter away from me. I'm going to haunt him like a ghost!"

Ji Huaizhi: "Aren't you happy or even concerned about Shushu's life or death?"

Feng Wanyi lowered her head.

"Feng Wanyi, you're so shameless!" Ji Huaizhi said softly, "If you like excitement so much, you shouldn't have gotten married and had children."

"What are you saying?" Feng Wanyi pushed Ji Huaizhi and reached out to hit him, but her arm was grabbed by someone.

Ji Huaijin suddenly let go, frowning with a look of disdain.

"It's not your place to make a move."

Feng Wanyi's chest heaved, her eyes flashing with anger: "You've finally agreed to see me."

"Dad," Ji Shu called softly.
