Chapter 25 When the Playboy Turns Over a New Leaf
Ji Huaizhi raised an eyebrow after reading these news articles; he was indeed a ruthless person.
When Liao Jinhe came to the Ji family, she dressed very warmly, with her assistant Fang carrying a gift box behind her.
"Young Master, Miss Liao has arrived," the butler said to Ji Yanzhi.
Ji Yanzhi, who was also watching the recent news, nodded after hearing this: "Go and call Huaizhi and Zhuxin. They probably have something to say while we're preparing some food."
When Liao Jinhe saw Ji Yanzhi, she nodded and turned to her assistant, saying, "Put it down."
Ji Yanzhi took a sip of coffee and glanced at the gift she had brought out of the corner of her eye: "I didn't expect Miss Liao to buy the Ocean Heart jewelry."
"Huai Zhi originally asked me to help him bid on this set of jewelry, but I didn't expect Miss Liao to make the first move."
Liao Jinhe raised an eyebrow: "Really?"
"Luckily I acted quickly, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to outmaneuver you."
As Huaizhi helped Zhuxin out of the elevator, he raised an eyebrow at the things on the table.
When my older brother told me about it a few days ago, I guessed that it was probably Miss Liao who bought it.
“Zhuxin, I saw this set of jewelry a while ago and it suits you very well. Do you like it?” Liao Jinhe said.
"Thank you, sister, but you and brother have already given us so many things. Huaizhi and I are almost out of space at home. We don't need to buy these expensive items so often." Liao Zhuxin said with a hint of helplessness.
Hearing her sister's words, Liao Jinhe glanced at Ji Yanzhi, then smiled and said, "If it's suitable, we'll buy it."
"Isn't the point of making money to spend it?"
Ji Huaizhi said bluntly, "Feng Xiang, put it away."
"Take it. Aren't they working so hard for us?"
“They are both very busy people. If we don’t help them spend the money, it’s just a string of numbers. Didn’t you say you were bored before? Let them make money so we can go out and have fun.”
“Go ahead, the Bund area is where we had a project before, you can go and take a look,” Ji Yanzhi said gently.
Liao Jinhe frowned: "Go abroad. I know a place where someone bought a villa before. Why don't you go and stay there for a while?"
Ji Yanzhi shifted his gaze to her: "Miss Liao, your sister-in-law is pregnant, it's not advisable for her to go too far."
"So what? Why not just bring the medical team?" Liao Jinhe didn't see anything wrong with it.
"Mom said that my sister-in-law is pregnant with twins, and her belly is already bigger than other pregnant women, so she definitely can't travel too much. If she wants to relax, she can stay in the area around the city."
Liao Jinhe had never been pregnant, but she had heard her mother say that twins were much more difficult than singletons.
Ji Yanzhi is indeed right.
"Mainly because there's not much to do on the Bund, and I was worried she'd get bored."
After hearing this, Ji Yanzhi said, "The Bund wasn't developed before, so Huaizhi and his sister-in-law can go and have a look around."
Zhu Xin and Huai Zhi exchanged a glance, letting them argue amongst themselves, and then went outside to bask in the sun.
"I feel like there's something strange about how my older brother and sister get along," Liao Zhuxin said, somewhat hesitantly, as if they were competing to see who treated her and her husband better.
"Hmm, I guess they're just too idle," Ji Huaizhi chuckled.
"They might still have something to fight over after the baby is born."
Liao Zhuxin didn't quite understand, and her puzzled expression looked somewhat naive.
~
Ji Huaizhi is right. Before Liao Zhuxin even left the delivery room, the two of them argued about who should hold the baby first.
Ji Yanzhi: "I am the child's elder brother, I should hold him first."
Liao Jinhe: "I am the child's aunt, and I had already disinfected my whole body before I came, just so I could hug my little nephew."
Ji Yanzhi frowned: "I'll definitely be the first to hold my brother's child."
"I'll definitely be the first to hold my sister's baby."
The father was speechless. "Why don't we just each hold one of the two children first?"
When Ji Huaizhi saw the delivery room door open, he went straight in and tried to see Zhu Xin without even glancing at the two children.
The nurse almost stopped him: "The mother needs to wait a bit, the father can hold the baby first."
"How is the mother?" Although he had heard from the doctor that everything went smoothly, he still wanted to see her first. Fortunately, the family had money, so Zhu Xin wouldn't have to suffer too much.
"The mother is in great condition and will be visible soon. Why don't you take a look at the baby first?"
The nurse was frightened by the group.
The people who had just been arguing about who should hold the baby first went to check on the child after hearing that the pregnant woman was alright.
Unexpectedly, when I turned around, I saw that both Ji's mother and Liao's mother were holding one child each.
Their serious expressions immediately cracked.
"Mom, didn't you say I should hold the baby first?" they both said in unison, their voices filled with resentment.
"So that you two can get along peacefully, your Aunt Ji and I have decided that we'll hug first, to avoid you two fighting later," Liao's mother said gently.
The baby looks exactly like my little daughter when she was a baby.
Mrs. Ji nodded, "That's right, it's for your own good."
"Besides, your Aunt Huang and I were very beautiful when we were young, so these two children will definitely look like us."
Knowing he would be the last to see the baby, Mr. Ji couldn't help but chuckle at their expressions: "The nurse hasn't said yet whether it's a boy or a girl?"
Mother Ji laughed so hard her eyes disappeared: "I told you, twins, a boy and a girl."
Liao's mother looked towards the delivery room with heartache, and saw Ji Huaizhi staring anxiously inside, which made her much happier.
The youngest daughter endured all the hardships of the first half of her life, and only sweetness remained in the second half.
When Liao Jinhe and Ji Yanzhi tried to hug them, they were too scared to move because they were really too small.
When Liao Zhuxin was wheeled out in a wheelchair by the doctor, she looked quite well.
Ji Yanzhi breathed a sigh of relief when he saw her complexion.
Thankfully, the pain relief pills provided by the system were effective; after all, they were twins, and the mother was bound to suffer.
System: 'I already told you the system always produces top-quality products. If you had given her the whole thing, she wouldn't have felt any pain, but you insisted on only giving her half.'
Ji Huaizhi: 'She's not a monster. If she didn't feel anything during childbirth, wouldn't she be suspicious? Wouldn't the doctors be suspicious?'
The system froze.
"Have you seen our children?" Liao Zhuxin asked her expectantly. "I still had the energy just now. I saw the two children, and they looked like little monkeys."
Ji Huaizhi blinked: "I forgot."
Liao Zhuxin: "..."
"You've worked hard." Ji Huaizhi kissed her forehead.
Liao Zhuxin took a step back: "It's sweaty and smells bad."
"It doesn't smell."
The two were so engrossed in their sweet moment that Ji Huaizhi pushed Zhu Xin away without even glancing at them.
The group exchanged glances, unsure of what to say. Just as they left, the quiet child in Ji Yanzhi and Liao Jinhe's arms suddenly burst into tears.
The two of them stiffened and asked their mother what to do.
