Chapter 27 The Ungrateful Man Who Sold His Sisters to Escape the Mountains
Extra.
"Mr. Ji, why did you insist on coming to Guangzhou?" the assistant asked, sitting in the car. "Actually, this business isn't worth making a special trip for."
"Back when there were no Four Seasons, I should say I made my fortune in Guangzhou," Ji Huaizhi said, half-closing his eyes in the back seat.
"I got tired of staying in Chongqing, so coming out for a stroll is like revisiting an old haunt."
The assistant nodded, looking at the large wholesale market, guessing that President Ji had earned his first pot of gold in the clothing business.
Mr. Ji asked him to park his car nearby, which he didn't understand but respected.
Ji Huaizhi checked the time and turned to look out the car window.
"You wait for me in the car, I'm going to get out and walk around."
The assistant guessed that President Ji was investigating the market. In fact, these tasks could be handled by his subordinates, so President Ji did not need to come personally.
After Ji Huai got off the carriage, he stood in the same spot where the original owner had stood in his previous life.
At that time, the original owner was leaning against a nearby telephone pole, his body crooked, with a cheap cigarette in his mouth, watching the merchants and vendors coming and going, choosing his prey.
Ji Huaizhi stood on the street, wearing a custom-made, tailored suit.
The shirt collar was slightly open, the tie was not fastened, and the collar was casually folded down, revealing a section of the smooth neck.
He stood lazily to one side, looking around.
His figure seemed out of place in this chaotic wholesale market.
Some thugs were also eyeing him, seemingly looking for something valuable on him.
Ji Huaizhi looked up and suddenly met a pair of pure eyes.
The woman was dressed in tattered clothes but had a pretty face, her eyes curiously taking in her surroundings.
You can tell she dressed like that on purpose, probably to avoid being recognized.
But people in this market have seen this many times before.
Such people often have a lot of money.
She was the woman the original owner accidentally killed in his previous life while trying to rob money.
Ji Huaizhi casually glanced at her face, then looked around. He noticed that the thugs nearby were all staring at him.
I didn't notice the woman.
Ji Huaizhi found it somewhat amusing. He had originally thought that if it weren't for the original owner, there would have been other thugs. What if she were to suffer such a calamity today?
I never expected that just by standing here, I would be targeted.
fine.
This can be considered a resolution to the cause and effect.
Sure enough, a little while later the woman went to the restroom, leaving her all alone.
If a grown man like Zhang Da can be cornered by a group of thugs when he goes to the toilet, imagine what a defenseless woman would do.
Looking at the thugs who followed, Ji Huaizhi guessed correctly; even without the original owner of the body, she was still just as unlucky.
Is it really fate?
"Give me the money?" The thug blocked Feng Jinlan's way after she came out of the toilet.
Feng Jinlan cursed inwardly at her bad luck.
I should have known better than to come to the restroom alone. With so many people around, how could she possibly escape?
"Brothers, could you leave me some?" Feng Jinlan was reluctant to part with so much money.
"I'll leave you some?" The thug found it amusing, but then suddenly noticed that although the man was dressed like a man, he was actually quite good-looking.
I guess she dressed like that on purpose.
"Originally, I just wanted money." The thug carefully put the knife away to avoid accidental injury. "But with your looks, you should still fetch a good price."
"Don't bother going to buy goods! We brothers will take you to make money."
Hahahaha!
The man's words caused the group to burst into laughter.
Feng Jinlan was genuinely panicked.
What's going on?
This is not just about robbing money.
He quickly took out some money: "Brother, take this money. My friend will be coming to find me soon, and you won't get a single penny!"
Feng Jinlan was flustered inside, but she tried to remain calm on the surface.
"There are lookouts outside. We want the money, and we're taking you with us too!"
Behind Feng Jinlan was a dead end. They were shouting with malicious expressions, "Help!"
"Help!"
"There's a robbery going on!"
Just as several men were about to step forward and cover her mouth, the brother on lookout suddenly let out a scream!
"Boss, her accomplice is here, and he's even a trained fighter!"
Several thugs looked back at the same time.
Feng Jinlan held her head in her hands and looked up, when a man walked towards her.
Her eyes widened instantly, revealing amazement.
Ji Huaizhi's legs were long and straight, and he kicked one of the thugs away.
She was tall and slender, with long legs encased in dark, slim-fitting trousers, and every step she took exuded an effortless elegance.
He tilted his head slightly back, a cigarette still in his mouth.
The smoke curled up, blurring the outline of his face.
His half-closed eyes revealed an unruly aura.
The casual act of unbuttoning his cuffs carries a unique sense of freedom and uninhibitedness.
Do you know that robbery is illegal?
Feng Jinlan's eyes sparkled as if they were filled with tiny starlight, and ripples spread through her heart. Her pupils clearly reflected the man's movements.
He whispered to himself, "Who said I'm unlucky? I'm incredibly lucky."
