Chapter 29 I'm a Brother-Supporting Demon
As dawn broke, the rusty faucet was turned on, and the only sound in the quiet room was the sound of water.
The man swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down. Dried bloodstains were still visible on the man's face in the mirror.
Through the mirror, one could see the mess behind him, with the walls and floor covered in crimson.
Ji Huailin took off his clothes, washed away the bloodstains, and came out soaking wet. Without even glancing at the scene on the bed, he quickly put on his clothes, packed his valuables, slung a small bag over his shoulder, locked the door, and left.

There was a knock on the door while Ji Huaizhi was breastfeeding her child.
Dong's mother brought the prepared breakfast to the table and took the child from her, saying, "I've come to see the child. Go and see who's knocking on the door."
Ji Huaizhi yawned. Jingchen cried and made a fuss in the middle of the night, and no one slept well last night.
I opened the door wearing a black casual long-sleeved shirt, only to find a policeman standing outside.
"Mr. Ji, is that right?" The officer showed his badge. "We'd like to talk to you about your brother, Mr. Ji Huailin. Is that convenient?"
Ji Huaizhi's eyes were glazed over, and he seemed not to have reacted yet: "Ji Huailin?"
Dong Shuxiang came out in her pajamas. Hearing the noise, she approached with a puzzled expression and asked, "What's wrong with your brother?"
When Ji Huaizhi and Dong Shuxiang arrived at the police station, they heard Liu Jinsheng and Wu Xiufen making a scene inside, along with Liu Jinhua crying. It seemed that they had brought everyone they could find.
Ji Huaizhi's expression was indifferent.
He already knew what had happened to Ji Huailin before he arrived.
Right now, everyone thinks he's a thief, and they haven't discovered another major incident.
“They are my cousin and his wife,” Dong Shuxiang said softly.
Ji Huaizhi turned his head and saw that his cousin and his wife did not look good.
Upon entering, the expressions of Ji Huaizhi and the other man darkened even more. The cousin grabbed a passing policeman and said, "We also reported the case yesterday. Has Ji Huailin been arrested?"
"Not yet, it will take time."
Liu Jinsheng came out and pointed at the people, saying, "What time do you need? You just don't take it seriously. We've given you the evidence and surveillance footage, why haven't you found the person yet?"
“Sir, we’ve already told you, he’s on the run to avoid punishment.” Another officer patiently explained to him, “We’re also currently searching for him.”
"By the time you find her, all the money will be gone." Wu Xiufen pursed her lips, then turned and started cursing at Liu Jinhua.
When Liu Jinhua saw Ji Huaizhi, she felt like she had seen a savior: "Huaizhi, please help your brother! Your uncle's money has been stolen, and your cousin's shop has been broken into."
"They said your brother is going to jail."
“Go help your brother. He can’t go to jail. His life will be ruined.”
“They’re all relatives, go and talk to the police.”
Dong Shuxiang frowned: "He broke the law and will definitely go to jail. How can Huaizhi help him?"
The police officer sighed to Ji Huaizhi: "That's why we know your brother hasn't contacted you, but we still asked you to come to the police station."
"After Ms. Liu Jinhua found out, she kept making a scene at the police station, saying that they were all relatives and it didn't count as theft. But we haven't even found the person yet."
Ji Huaizhi smiled apologetically and said he would pick her up in a little while.
Liu Jinsheng and his group stood aside, glaring at them fiercely: "Since Ji Huaizhi is here, then you should help your brother pay back the money. Your mother just said they have no money left."
Ji Huaizhi ignored them and continued to ask, "Have you found out the last location where Ji Huailin was seen?"
Seeing that the police officer didn't seem to be going to say anything more, he spoke up again: "I heard from my mother that he often spends time with his ex-girlfriend. He cares a lot about her and spends all his money on her."
"Besides, they broke up because of money, so you could try looking for that woman named Zeng Min."
"Yes, yes, yes!" Liu Jinhua echoed absentmindedly, "It's all that woman's fault."
"That woman is a gold digger; she must have made my son steal things."
The officer nodded to Ji Huaizhi: "Thank you for the clue. The surveillance footage shows that the two of them got into the car together, and we can't contact the girl named Zeng Min either."
"They should be together right now, and we've already contacted the taxi they were in."
Everyone assumed that Ji Huailin had taken all the money and run away with Zeng Min.
However, Zeng Min's family said it was absolutely impossible.
They said they must have been kidnapped and wouldn't run away for that little bit of money, so they also reported them missing.
Ji Huaizhi frowned.
The officer sensed something was wrong: "Do you think there's a problem?"
Ji Huaizhi raised his eyes: "My younger brother has a very bad temper now. He even beat my dad so badly that he ended up in the hospital. And that woman always complained that he didn't have money, which was the reason for our breakup."
"Although they broke up, I heard that woman has been spending his money, and my brother still wants to marry her. I'm afraid he might act impulsively if they have any arguments..."
The police officer understood the unspoken meaning behind Ji Huaizhi's words.
It's not impossible for love to turn into hatred, leading to a crime of passion.
“What are you afraid of? Anyway, that woman isn’t a good woman.” Liu Jinhua kept shouting, “She broke up with me for money, and then spent a lot of money after the breakup.”
"Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of flowers!"
Liu Jinhua started wiping away tears again as she thought about it.
Dong Shuxiang glanced at Ji Huaizhi: "Your brother may not be a good person, but surely he wouldn't be, right?"
Ji Huaizhi: "You were pregnant before, so you didn't notice, but he's changed a lot now."
The phone rang at the station, and the officer who answered it exclaimed with a change in expression, "Something's happened! It's the Criminal Investigation Bureau. They say the person we're looking for has been murdered."
