Chapter 3 The Ungrateful Childhood Sweetheart (3)

Chapter 3 The Ungrateful Childhood Sweetheart (3)

He's a college graduate; he can find another job.

However, it is very difficult to find a local girl with good qualities.

After all, many well-off local girls wouldn't choose to marry men from rural areas outside the region; they're not stupid.

Therefore, he must hold onto Chen Yao tightly.

As soon as the original owner resigned, Chen Yao took him to meet her parents. Chen's parents were clearly not very satisfied with the original owner, but they didn't say much. They didn't even ask about the original owner's job.

Things were going very smoothly, and the original owner increasingly felt that she had made the right decision.

Just as he was about to look for a job and go for interviews, Chen Yao told him not to rush things and to get married first before looking for a job.

To avoid displeasing the company's leaders if he asked for leave later.

Upon hearing about the marriage, the original owner naturally agreed and even thought Chen Yao's words made sense.

He was a poor young man who had just graduated and couldn't afford a house for his wedding. He was still hesitating about how to tell Chen Yao when he saw her give him a charming smile:

"You think I don't know? My family has already prepared everything for my wedding room."

As he spoke, he took out the property certificate from his bag.

The original owner took it and felt a little disappointed when he saw that only Chen Yao's name was on it.

But it only lasted for a moment.

After all, Chen Yao's family were the beneficiaries of land expropriation, owning several houses and shops in the area, and she mentioned that her family also had other businesses.

So what if his name isn't on the list?

Once you're married, he'll have a share.

While preparing for the wedding, he didn't contact his family for a long time, since both sets of parents need to be present for such an important event as a wedding.

But unexpectedly, Chen Yao lost her temper after the call:

"Why did you bring your family here? They didn't contribute to the wedding expenses, there was no wedding house, everything was paid for by my family, and you still want your family to come and enjoy the fruits of their labor?"

"Where would you find such a good deal? If they're coming, then we'll pay for the wedding and the banquet."

"If so many rural people come to your house, people will laugh at me."

During this time, the original owner watched the wedding, and even if they sold their entire family, they couldn't come up with that much money.

Hearing her tone of disdain for her family made her uncomfortable, but she didn't say anything.

Indeed, all the money was prepared by their family from beginning to end.

Seeing that she wouldn't go back to meet his family, he had no choice but to ask her for some money, buy some things, and go back to his hometown by himself.

Chen Yao was very generous with the money; she supported the original owner of the body when the original owner wasn't working.

I haven't been back for several years, and the mud house in my hometown has been replaced by a brick house.

Just as he was marveling at how much his hometown had changed in the past few years, he unexpectedly saw Jiang Xiaomei next door.

The original owner's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly went into the house.

Why is she back?

The Ji family was happy to see the original owner return, after all, he had become successful and even married a local girl, making him one of the most successful people in their village.

Ji's parents had completely forgotten that he hadn't returned all these years.

They also forgot that they hadn't supported his university education before.

The implication is that now that you're successful, you shouldn't forget your brothers and parents at home, and you can't just enjoy life on your own.

Other relatives came to join in the fun and even asked when the original owner would bring her parents to the provincial capital to enjoy a comfortable life.

They also said they would let them broaden their horizons when they got married.

Ji's father, mother, brothers, and sisters did not react much. Ji's eldest brother looked at him with hostility and jealousy.

The original owner was already unsettled when he saw Jiang Xiaomei, and these people were buzzing in his ears like mosquitoes.

After saying a couple of unpleasant things, the other person left.

Mr. and Mrs. Ji were unhappy, feeling that he showed no respect for the family at all. They said that the original owner had become successful outside and looked down on the family, having been away for so many years without even sending a letter.

When I heard him mention the wedding again, I decided not to invite them.

Because their father-in-law was unhappy, they became even angrier.

I think he's a disgrace.

The Ji family members were arguing and throwing things, calling him an ingrate with no conscience.

Seeing this, the original owner knew there was nothing more to say. He wasn't someone who could be forced by his parents' words; a sophisticated and self-centered person always puts himself first.

Let them pretend they don't have a son.

He turned and left.

He was avoiding the Jiang family.

I couldn't resist giving Jiang Xiaomei's younger brother ten yuan when we bumped into him on the street, and casually asked, "When did your older sister come back?"

"When the villagers went to the provincial capital for medical treatment, they ran into my older sister. They called my parents, and they brought her back," said Jiang's younger brother, putting away the money.

“Everyone in the village said that you took my older sister away, but when they found her, she was all alone.”

Jiang's younger brother spat out: "My parents told me that she worked outside for several years but didn't save any money. She's a real waste."

"I wonder which shameless man she ran off with."

"In the end, the man didn't want her anymore either."

Hearing his words, the original owner couldn't quite describe the feeling in her heart. She thought Jiang Xiaomei would stay in the provincial capital, marry a chef, or find a waitress.

I never expected to be caught and brought back.

He took the remaining money out of his pocket: "Give this money to your older sister."

Jiang's younger brother's eyes lit up, and he stuffed the money into his pocket without hesitation: "You like my older sister? You've missed your chance."

“My parents told her to the fertilizer hauler in the next village.”

Seeing his behavior, the original owner knew that the money wouldn't end up in Jiang Xiaomei's pocket.

I regretted giving it away.

But not wanting to waste time there, I turned and left.

Anyway, he gave it to me.

After returning to the city, the original owner married Chen Yao, but no one at the wedding took him seriously.

Those who offered the toast were doing so out of respect for Chen's father.

After the wedding, the original owner had to start looking for a job again. Chen Yao told him not to rush, and that if his father had a suitable job, he could go work for his father.

Upon hearing this, the original owner immediately stopped being anxious.

He figured his father-in-law probably wanted to hand over the family business to his son-in-law.

But not long after they waited, Chen Yao became pregnant.

He stayed home to take care of Chen Yao, and the Chen family kept quiet about his work, implying that everything was fine.

It's not good at all. After Chen Yao got pregnant, her parents moved in with her. The original owner was basically a maid at home and had to watch their faces. She didn't lack anything on a daily basis, but they were very tight with their money.

When the child was about to be born, the original owner finally realized that something was wrong.

Why is Chen Yao's belly so big? And her due date is wrong?

He had a vague suspicion in his mind, but he dared not believe it.

After the baby was born, Chen Yao went back to work immediately after her postpartum confinement period, leaving him at home to take care of the child.

The original owner was holding a grudge. First, she did a paternity test, and then she secretly observed Chen Yao. Finally, she caught Chen Yao cheating.

When he presented the paternity test results and evidence of Chen Yao's infidelity to the Chen family, they showed little reaction.

"And then what? Are you going to get a divorce?" Chen Yao asked indifferently.

If it weren't for her father's old-fashioned ways, who felt that being pregnant out of wedlock was shameful and that she had to get married before having the child, she wouldn't have wanted to go through all that trouble.

"I want compensation for the divorce." The original owner wanted to maximize her benefits: "You also have to give me a property."

However, the Chen family had already made preparations.
